Can anyone tell me the EXACT size of the mandatory install on Wii U?

I only know it's "at least 3GB" and I have like 3.2GB left on my HDD...

A safe space... Finally!

Btw, I read in the old preview thread that there's a major difference between Framerate in the WiiU vs Switch.

I hope is nothing as big as GTAV for Ps3, that game was unplayable to me.

Lmao right, spoiler thread look like they got a party going on in there, I'm so curious lol

Absorbing info about this game is life-ruining, I can't stop.

With everything I've seen from this game, I'm in awe of how this is the followup to Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess.

I tired so hard to do a media black out for this game. I've only seen some preview footage but I read somewhere that all we've seen is just 1% of the game. I'm just going to look at the review numbers and try not to read anything else new.

But BoTW has helped me media black out ME:Andromeda, so I guess that's good.

There's just a ton of detail, care and atmosphere put into this game, and I haven't even played it. Just by watching endless vids and seeing leaked assets, this game is big. Maybe even too big. I don't even know anymore.

Some part of me wishes I didn't constantly spoil myself, but at the same time, when I get my hands on a copy I'll know exactly where I want to go, what I want to do and what I want to look for. And even then, I think I'll still be surprised.

Every time I see the thread bumped is liking walking past a door that has lights and the sound of fun coming from within with this plastered on it

I wonder though... isn't it kind of bittersweet to be in the spoiler thread? You get to see all this presumably cool stuff, but you also have to get over the fact that you won't be discovering it in-game.

Your weird!

So has there been confirmation of more runes than the starting ones? If it's too spoilery of a question I can ask in the preview thread.

I haven't read anything so this is all speculation but yes I do believe there are more runes. I've beloved this since E3. I also think Nintendos embargo rules basically confirm this.

Yeah, I imagine that spoiling everything has a pretty big hangover effect.

Yep, I can manage.

Depends on the game. But yes, for a game where the open world for once actually has a bunch of cool shit to explore and find for yourself, spoiling it is a silly thing when considering the long-term.

Local shop selling Wii U version early. I picked it up even though I intend to fully play the game on Switch. Just playing around with this copy for now but not intending to actually progress much.

Anyone who's playing it, can you rotate items you've picked up with Magnesis? I can push them away and pull them forward, but not rotate.

Uhh...I can definitely understand why Nintendo kept this under wraps...

This game...doesn't look that great, even on a 720p plasma. Performance is acceptable, but I've just gotten out of the cave.

Yeah, it's clear the game got too big for it's britches once they moved it to Switch. Honestly though, the framerate and performance isn't bothering me. I am having a fantastic time playing this. I think the performance is going to bother people on paper moreso than it does in practice. It's just a really great game.

Yeah performance isn't that bad. I definitely notice some slowdowns but for the most part this runs well enough considering the hardware. Switch definitely looks a lot sharper (based on youtube videos) but Wii U owners should be happy with this version.

We also have CEMU to look forward to.

There's nothing fun about spoiling major plot events of the most anticipated games of the past half decade without having played yourself. They know not how they sin against themselves.

I don't envy them. At most, I pity them.

Can you play like 10 hours tonight and then give us performance impressions?

Pls

OK no spoilers but from the leaked stuff I have seen, I will tell yall that there is so much more packed in this game that if the new stuff I've seen was all that was extra besides walking around the world, I'd still be fine paying $60 for this game and I'm a STICKLER for cheap gaming...

They experience it new just the same as anyone playing the game.

Just like if you replay a game, is it a sin because you spoiled the replay by playing it a first time?

So a few misc things going off streams of the WiiU version (and don't worry, I'm sticking to thread guidelines and not spoiling a thing):

-The game has some gorgeous details and it's really cool you can see so much so far away. There's a lot of surprising touches, and some things I think will fill people with wonder and awe (can't go much further in detail than that).
-...But the game does suffer from some fairly empty large spaces in some places, there's a lot going on in some places, but other spots are rather barren.
-Frame Rate on WiiU unfortunately isn't good. It fps dips pretty frequently, it looks like it gets to 15-20 frames sometimes for example when facing more than five enemies at once. to be seen how it compares to Switch, but unfortunately the frame rate on WiiU is certainly noticeable. I also will clarify this isn't one place or anything, it happens kind of frequently in all areas of the game when there's more going on.
-Now I started with some of the bad stuff, but there's a lot to like here as well. The dynamicness of the world is charming, there's a lot you can toy around with, discover, and do. It really does seem to capture the simple childhood wonder of exploring a big fantasy world, which I think was the point.
-Sound design is phenomenal, from the ambient sounds, to the music, there's a LOT of detail to what's going on audio wise that adds so much to the atmosphere.
-...Unfortunately there's some really atrocious voice acting though in English. And it's a pretty wide spread thing, it unfortunately... Some of the voice acting is simply not good.
-There's interesting requirements and challenges to specific things I think is quite creative. I can't say more than that due to thread rules since it goes into side quests and such, but I thought I might mention it.
-One of the game's biggest things I think is basically everything, even the main story, is basically sidequests. You don't really need to do anything except go to Ganon, and it's already been proven on stream you can literally rush down and reach Ganon if you put your mind to it (mentioning this since they said this before release multiple times I know, but we know that for a fact now), though let's just say you probably won't get far if you go that approach. Be very fun to see how speed runners will tackle this game.

The easiest Zelda comparison is the game reminds a LOT of Majora's Mask in a number of ways, just on a much, much larger and more open scale. It's not exactly like it, but some things definitely seem inspired by it. I think the people who really will love it are those who like the idea of a big explorable and full of secrets fantasy world, and the sound design and combat are quite something. But it's definitely not a flawless game, it has a few missteps mostly with some of the new stuff they try. Some of the world does feel like filler, the technical side leaves much to be desired in performance on WiiU at least, and the voice acting is... Hmn. But I think it's been made like this so people can sort of form their own story in the game, kind of make a big playground if you will where you can share your experiences with friends or people online or whatever since it's certain everyone's going to experience and discover different things.

All I can really say without going deeper, but hope this helps some of y'all.
