MMX is the only series which has a storyline worth paying attention to though. Even in MM ZX, the story basically ruined the game for me because it kept getting in the way.

Okay I can't argue with that.

I'm thinking something similar to what Castlevania did for multiplayer in HoD,I hope at least. It's Mega Man so I'll eat it up.

Wow I'm kind of schocked with so much hate, this looks fantastic to me, I am much happier they are doing this instead of pumping out another NES looking Megaman 11 game. They are keeping to the same core that made it work but are still doing something differen

I gotta say, I want to see more

also bad box art Megaman is A-mazing

Well outside of the fact that I prefer X to Rock it really comes down to the fact that the 3D models don't carry the charm of the 8 Bit sprite, infact Mega Man just looks plain nasty.

I'm getting an overwhelming meh reaction from these honestly. OI those models are oogly. Could be fun though, definitely getting a little big mega man vibe outta this, and if they include enough tools and functionality this could get good.

Yeah I dunno, I guess I'm just in the minority, I really dont think they look all that bad myself, assuming it is a downloadable title and not a full retain release which would be pretty ridiculous, it still feels right to me

Would it make you feel better if X were playable as well?:D Id be all for that myself!

In a way sure it would, but even then I would be weary of the game.

To be completely honest the basic controls of X and his natrual skills make it so not only would levels be segemented off because of things like Dash and Wall Jump but the balance between created levels could be a issue.

That and I want a story line progression in the X series, in all honesty I want a sequel to Command Mission though I know I will never get it.

I could be wrong about the game, and if I am I will eat my words about skipping the game. As it stands I have gotten and at least enjoyed every Mega Man game save MM and Base and Legends 1/2.

Edit: Actually I really couldn't get into Zero games becaues I couldn't stand the redesign and after the first Mega Man ZX was bad I didn't bother giving the sequel a chance.

Looks lame as hell. People kept making Capcom think that the retro look is good. "OMG it's so oldschool! It's so cool and retro"

No, it's not. Retro games SUCK and they are UGLY.

Pong SUCKS
Pacman SUCKS
Asteroids SUCKS
NES Megaman SUCKS
NES Metroid SUCKS

fuck your childhood, you're fucking OLD

3d and shaders or gtfo
all the problems with this game seems to be that they're trying to modernize the appearance, so...

Why is this so visually unappealing?

The colours are all clashing, the scale, it's just...ugh.

Mega Man Powered Up looked much better.

Can we collect all the Mans together? I swear I've seen about 4 different variants of him in these trailers already, and only one of them looks even half decent.

I only saw 3, Rock, Mega, Bad Box Mega.

Was there another trailer that I missed?

Seems like only rock characters if the back ground is anything to go by. Well it just means that I will skip it with out X being a playable character.

Notice how uneasy all those characters are feeling in that piece of artwork? Maybe that reflects Capcom's true feelings on the game. The only one who seems pleased to be there is the Bad Box Art Mega Man. :lol

Rock especially looks like he'd rather be elsewhere.

I still don't get that Mega Man. He doesn't really look like the weird US box art for MM3-6. He looks more like Toon Link cosplaying.

Maybe he's supposed to be the US cartoon Mega Man. He had chest muscles and stuff, which the art here seems to be trying to replicate somewhat with the lines and stuff.

i just want my pixel art back. if it's not super flashy crazy out there modern whatever 2.5d i want 8-bit pixel art. i mean, there are so many more interesting art styles they could have picked for this. they could have gone with a crazy funky pseudo pixel art pac-man c.e. like look. they could have gone with a hand painted inafune artwork look. they could have gone with a super wacky cel shaded exaggerated cartoony look. they could have gone with a sort of 3d pixel art look, kinda like 3d dot heroes. they could have done a whole range of psychedelic funky looking art styles and backgrounds. the important thing is that it PLAYS like the 8-bit mega mans, that the physics and mechanics feel right.

so then, why not just use 8-bit sprites, make it widescreen and double or triple the original nes resolution? and then create 8-bit sprites for all the other playable characters? hell yeah.

but this... i mean, WHAT is it? WHAT? it's like the sprites, tiles, backgrounds, items and hud were all designed by entirely different people who were all locked into seperate rooms without the ability to communicate with each other, and the only task they were given was: "MAKE IT UGLY! don't worry about silly things like art styles or consistency, just make it really ugly." and then at the end they all came together and all the elements were hastily combined and pasted into the existing engine and inafune was pleased: "yeah, none of this fits together at all. and it's really ugly. excellent job, guys!"

The thing is I don't believe this is going to be a 10 dollar download, and I don't think Capcom believes that 8 bit sprites would sale with a 60 dollar tag, and I don't blame them.

It looks like they're trying to copy the bland art style of NSMBWii and are fucking up at it.
well, nsmb wii looked about a million times better than this. and it most certainly wasn't bland. it had a little thing called "consistency" and a proper sense of scale. it looked like all the characters and enemies and backgrounds belonged to the same universe.
