I have to give credit to Nintendo. My launch unit had a particle under the glass of the display. I sent it in and I already have the replacement. Super quick.

So I tried out 1-2 Switch today at the bar of my university. It was pretty quiet, but everyone crowded around. Some four or five people came up to me to say they were really jealous and feltbadman that they didn't preorder it before, but they were definitely getting one. Now I look online and see at one store this thing is sold out until the middle of May.

It's happening isn't it? This is going to be another Wii.
I don't think it will succeed for the same reasons as Wii, but I do think it will be a success. But it's not a system that will get non-gamers buying one for themselves the way the Wii did.

I have a ton of people constantly coming up to me (who generally don't play games or haven't even owned a console since the GameCube or Wii) who are asking about the Switch, saying they want to buy one, asking what's the best way to get it.

I think the Wii's meteoric success was a once in a lifetime thing, but I think the Switch might be well on its way to being the true successor that Nintendo had hoped the Wii U would have been.

Nintendo definitely have a nice console on their hands, it's now up to them to keep the momentum.

No that's true, I can't see 60 year olds get it (unless there's some QoL coming). But I think it will be much more popular with the college crowd. A group of 20 year olds saying they really want it, they sure didn't get that from playing the Wii U in their adolescence, lol.

I'm using Switch from dayone and all I've to say is that's fucking awesome, I'm using about always outside of my house and play a game like Zelda on handheld is simply insane.

I assume this has been posted

In January, yes 😃

I have a quick question I couldn't find the answer to.

Me and my fiance both use our Switch. We have separate accounts and users. If I were to buy the BotW DLC, would it be accessible to both of us, or would I have to buy it twice?

Good question. Maybe contact Nintendo and report back.

You can test it out and report back...lol. If the DLC items unlock works on both accounts then we will know for sure.

Yes, agreed. Switch is waaaaay more appealing than WiiU. And I say that as someone who still loves my WiiU.

Please stop. A store being sold out until May isn't a sign that it selling well it's a sign that there are supply constraints. Now if you want to tell me that they are getting in a 100 units a week and are selling those out extremely quickly, then ok that will be a sign of good sales. As far as I'm aware no physical stores in my area have got a second shipment beyond that first launch a shipment. Same goes for most online retailers. Has Amazon even had a restock?

Is the Switch in the dock supposed to be this wobbly? I guess I really need to buy some felt stripes. Also my hands do get really sweaty with this thing compared to other controllers, very weird. It also makes the back of the Switch look disgusting.

Switch is 100 % what the Wii U should have been. I enjoyed the second screen idea especially with games that use it well, but it was probably confusing or didn't seem fun for most people.

This could happen. Hopefully Nintendo doesn't stop the marketing. The Wii marketing (hardware and software) was phenomenal and clever.

Can anyone recommend for me a good MicroSD card for the Switch(128gb preferred) Ive seen a few like the Sandisk Extreme(not sure the difference between that and the plus) and the Samsung one but really not sure which one is good

Samsung evo plus or select (they're the same iirc)

Here's a good list of cards with the speeds. Each link for the cards has a few places to buy them from.

https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/reviews/micro-sd-cards/

I bought a Samsung 128GB EVO which doesn't have that GREAT of speeds (48MB/s) it was only $34 at my local Wal Mart lol. I'm going to get the EVO select (256GB @$199) or the SanDisk Ultra 128GB ($40)...

First day with the Switch, my first ever Nintendo console, so far I'm pretty impressed.

Random thoughts:

-The display is great! 720p sounded bad to me but it's really good in person.
-Docked Zelda is fine resolution wise but the framerate, good god the framerate...
-I find the joycon grip thing to be actually comfortable, after 3 hours of paying I don't fell the need of a 69$ Pro controller.
-The stick on the Joycons feels a little imprecise to me, especiallythe right one
-The idea behind the dock is great, the dock itself...well you know. I'm so afraid of scratching the damn thing.

Anyone else's JoyCons not locking onto the console anymore? My left one isn't

Once I pulled my left JC by accident without pressing the tiny button, it came out.

Now it just is smoother, but the trigger still seems to work.

Damn thinks like that had me concerned when Switch was first shown

I'm going to see if I can get Best Buy to just give me a new left JoyCon. One of the benefits of a modular console I suppose.

It seems to stay in place for the most part, but I can still slide it loose if I hold it a certain way...

Are there server problems with the e-shop? I currently have problems downloading blaster master.

edit: restarting the console helps. I tend to have server issues when I try to access the e-shop in portable mode. I have to put the Switch back into the dock and then restart to make it work. Or that is a coincidence and there are server hiccups.

Just use it as intended and don't force it. Also get a pro controller to minimmize the wear resulting from hundreds of swaps between grip and tablet.

Yeah all this technical stuff I have no clue how to read all that LOL but if you had to choose since you already have the EVO would you recommend this one

or maybe this one this one is cheaper but seems good

I'm curious how everyone has their Switches positioned in their home. My switch is placed beside my TV in a vertical configuration, USB ports facing forward with joycons attached.

Is there a consensus on this?

Amazon updated my delivery for April for the deluxe carry case

Fuck, and of course scalpers grabbed all the fucking cases to make bank

All of sudden my dock just quit fucking working. The console itself is fine but it looks like there's no power from the dock since I'm not getting the green light to flash. I've tried multiple wall outlets and TV's, I'm really fucking mad right now.

I've had that exact same issue, really wierd since I can't recollect anything strange about the way I've been disconnecting the Joy-Cons. Got it replaced, thankfully.

Where did you go to get that done? Your retailer of purchase?

I got my class screen protector in. Fits and looks great. Im surprised the switch now fits a little more snugly in the dock, the protector isn' THAT thick

After initially being hesitant, I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on the switch, those Zelda impressions seem just too positive to wait on. But I have few technical questions that might swing it...

Firstly, since the switch has a 3.5mm jack on the console itself and not on the controllers (including pro iirc?) will I run into any problems using headphones while the Switch is docked? I'm planning on hooking the dock up to a monitor, not a TV. How does Switch split audio exactly?

2nd question, has a consensus yet emerged on whats the best value power bank? A lot of the in depth impressions I'm reading are all recommending them, my upper limit would probably be 50-60 euro here.

Finally, based on some of the hardware defect reports (these happen every hardware launch I know) Have you exprienced much of them? I'm talking screen scratches, joycon desynching, freezing etc.

Double check your USB/power connection. I had the same issue this week but I was retarded and had it plugged into the USB port not the AC port

All audio is output through the 3.5mm whether it is docked or not.

Looks like it's my actual adapter that came with the console. On the phone with Nintendo now to see what we can do.

Has anyone used a separate usb-c adapter for their Switch yet?

Switch is BEGGING for a Monster Hunter Double Cross port. I really hope its announced soon. The portability and the accessibility of the Switch is so good that the Japanese (portable MH is like crack over there) will eat it up. C'mon Nintendo!!?

The SanDisk would be plenty.

Awesome thanks..what is the difference between the Ultra and the Supreme..any difference at all?
Also..as far as the LAN Adapter goes.I have time warner cable(Spectrum now) and I have from before a Nyko Wii U Lan Adapter, but its USB 2.0..the wifi in my room stinks it wouldnt recognize my 5G or any wifi internet..actually it would recognize it but the connection test was a fail every time..so I connected my lan adapter to the back of the dock, but the speed is only like 35mbps(My spectrum internet is 100mbps.) so not sure if its because I plugged it into the back or its because its USB 2.0 that the speed isnt that great..so would it be better to go with something like this

I don't really know if this thread is a good place to ask and I don't want to create another Switch thread for a batery question.

I picked my Switch up on the 5th thanks to Gamestop holding my pre order. I've only been playing Zelda Breath of the Wild since getting the Switch.

I only play the Switch on Hand held and haven't connected to the TV yet. I've been charging my Switch twice a day since the 5th. How long would my Switch's batery last if I keep going on like this?
