I woke up today and saw my dad listening to BTS in his room, lmao

He was reading the news about their show in Brazil tomorrow and gave it a listen, that was a fun moment :D

What exactly happened to The Ark anyway? I know they disbanded but it was weird how it just happened.
Their lead vocalist, Yujin, got vocal nodules. They were looking for a new vocalist when it all unravelled. The agency said Minju and Yuna left to pursue their own music, but I remember in an post by one of them earlier this year that it was the agency that disbanded them during that time. Either way, agency wasted the group's talent and pre-debut efforts.

Oh how I've missed them

So, since the last time you posted in this thread (11th of February):

Just ordered by date, some of them are there because I think they are good releases, others are there just because of the name they are attached to.

Just spent my morning going through the entire list, haha. There were only a couple of tracks that I didn't like, so there was super high hit-rate with the list overall.

As promised, here's my quick opinion of each song as I listened to them (for anyone that cares):

비아이지 (B.I.G) - 1.2.3 MV

This is good. The additional monkey is always welcome.

June One Kim X Krystal - I Don`t Wanna Love You (Official MV)

The intro to this MV was a tad pretentious! The track didn't wow me, but I definitely like it, and it's suitably understated in a way that I know will eventually infiltrate my playlists.

[MV] MELODYDAY(멜로디데이) _ KISS ON THE LIPS

I'm sure it's already been said a million times already (and the YT comments suggest as much), but this is eerily close to Wonder Girls in terms of presentation, the MV at least. Super catchy choruses do it for me.

K.A.R.D - Don`t Recall M/V

This is so on point, I don't even really need to say anything. Damn!

TAEYEON 태연_I Got Love_Music Video

Love this, much more experimental sounding than her previous material. The instrumentation is great. And next to the epic "meh" of SeoHyun's release, it looks even better,

TWICE(트와이스) "KNOCK KNOCK" M/V

I thought I'd like it because of the upbeatness of it all, but it's really boring. Meh

BTS ‘Not Today’ MV

It's so stupid. I love it.

[MV] 수빈(Subin) _ Strawberry
[MV] 수빈(Subin) _ 동그라미의 꿈(Circle's Dream)

It's refreshing to hear such simple instrumentation, not a million things before a word is even uttered. Wasn't sure when listening to 'Strawberry', but they both won me over by the end.

러블리즈(Lovelyz) "WoW!" Official MV

Where the hell did this come from?!? Right away, this got me. Not going to lie, I pay next to no attention to Lovelyz, but this has definitely piqued by curiosity.

Gugudan - A Girl Like Me MV

God damn, this is generic.

TAEYEON 태연_Fine_Music Video

I usually check out at your typical ballads, this is no different.

[MV] CODE KUNST - FIRE WATER (Feat. G.Soul, TABLO)

"You can z,z,z, in peace" lol

GFRIEND(여자친구) _ FINGERTIP

This is just a pure pop song, has a kitschy ,80's vibe to it, which is never a bad thing!

Hwang Insun - Hwang Ya

"Hit the sample button about a thousand times" I like my EDM nonsense, but this is a bit too far. She should probably sing a little more. The song has no identity.

브레이브걸스 (Brave Girls) - 롤린 (Rollin') MV

This is pretty decent.

GOT7 - "Never Ever" MV

*shrug*

[MV] 이달의 소녀 1/3 (LOOΠΔ 1/3) "지금, 좋아해(Love&Live)"

Super saccharine but it's done well. Sounds more reminiscent of J-Pop than anything.

well at someone likes the new lovelyz
Actually, the verses have been stuck in my head for the last week, when I've only listened to the song one time since release, shame about the copy/paste chorus from their previous release that doesn't fit at all.

This is really good, I wonder if Rap Mon is gonna be putting out an actual album of original content because I could get behind an album like this.

He said he's working on his second mixtape right now so here's to hoping it releases this year. His first mixtape is great and was released for free if you haven't heard it yet though.

My god, the GFriend FINGERTIP single is on Spotify! Still no Navillera album though.

Thank you so much for getting the 4th single on Spotify tho.

Spotify has been a lot better for having recent releases. It's nowhere near the wasteland it used to be, one that, for a time, turned me onto Apple Music *shudder*

I'm as surprised as anyone! They're usually not my thing, but I like this song.

The verses are what grabbed me too, for sure.

Yeah I've heard his first mixtape and it's pretty good but I'd kind of like to see an original album from him like Suga had, I thought Suga had a better album personally. Still this is a good single which has me hopeful.

Pristin - Wee Woo

Edit. Been listening to a bunch of times now. I love it. The bridge with the superhero parts do hold it back, but not a lot, and the more I listen to it the more it fades in with the rest of the song and is easier to ignore. Aside from that, the song doesn't do a good job of showing of their talents, but that's not important. Music video is great, girls look amazing and the choreo seems solid. Gonna check out the rest of the mini and some live videos.

I'm with you. After a few plays it really started to grab me. I think the beat is fun, and the visuals in the MV are fantastic.

I liked what I heard in the mini teaser, but I am still surprised by how much I like Over N' Over. Definitely the best of the new b-sides. Still early but I suspect that either this, Wee Woo or Running will emerge as my favorite song on their debut mini. Either way, super solid mini even though two of them are songs they released/performed pre-debut. Overall I'm very satisfied with their debut. Definitely worth it to stay up for.

Moon Hyuna - INTRO (After Midnight)
So the teaser was the intro...

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. So good. Song has a really nice atmosphere.

A bit boring, but in line with what I was expecting from the teasers.

Well, at least the MV is solid and the song is not a trainwreck.

Vocal parts are good, but the rap verses kind of ruin it for me.
