APES STRONG TOGETHER

Was hoping to maybe see Koba but maybe thats going to be the twist reveal. I hope they don't just forget about him.

If this movie approaches anywhere near the brilliance of Dawn, we've genuinely gotten a bloody good movie trilogy out of this reboot.

These movies have seriously had no right to be as good as they've ended up being.

Shame about those titles, though.

I wonder if this movie will continue from Rise/Dawn by having all human characters dumb and make a wrong choice everytime. For real, the decision-making in those movies by adults are on par with 6 year olds.

I remember laughing at the initial trailer for the first movie. Boy, I was so wrong.

Absolutely. Dawn is one of the best summer blockbusters of all time.

Humans are dumb and make bad choices.

We deserve to be eradicated by the apes.

I don't understand your criticism.

I'm a bit skeptical that with this film, they seem to have lost a lot of the moral complexity that made Dawn so engaging. There were no real villains on either side in that film, no "good" side or "bad" side to root for...even Gary Oldman's character was very sympathetic. As a result, I really felt that helped make things so much more interesting and suspenseful.

But in this film, the humans seem to be standing much more firmly on the side of evil, with the sides being more clearly drawn. "To save humanity we must abandon our humanity". I get that they're telling a different story here, but from what we've seen, it seems to be a much more generic tale than the previous two films.

He's in the trailer.
Where? Maybe I'm Apeist but they all kinda look similar in the quick cuts :p
Say what? Spoilers for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:
Koba dead, isn't he?
During the credits of dawn you can hear him getting out of the rubble, or at least something that sounds like that
The ape effects are so goddamn seamless at this point.
Seriously, this shot in particular had me do a double take:

Nah man,
there was that after credits audio that suggested he survived
.

I seem to distantly recall the director stating he's
definitely dead in an interview. They had some vague ideas to bring Koba back but ended up junking them in favour of the story they went with here. So he probably won't be coming back, after all.

So many trailers this week.

Matt Reeves is gonna be under magnifying glass with this movie because of Batman.
He is but it doesn't seem like that will turn out badly for him with how fucking great these 2 trailers have been. I'd be REALLY surprised if he doesn't deliver yet again.

Here.

Can you not spoiler out a link?

Also he is talking around 1:40 mark, Koba slurs his words compared to Caesar.

I wonder if we're ever going to see a "planet" of apes in this series. It feels like it's more like a small town of apes, somehow constantly coming into conflict with all these scary humans in one small area of the US.

Apes stays being the best blockbuster franchise other than F&F right now. Looks incredible.

If this turns out as good or better than dawn then its a greater franchise than fast and Furious too

Matt Reeves did such dope work last time. And WETA da gawds. Best cgi in a while

Trump taught me that people are idiots. Humanity sucks. Apes will do better.

Fuck'em up, Caesar!

Yes, humans sometimes do stupid shit but what James Francos character does in the first movie breaks all suspension of disbelief. He's painted as one a great scientist but given his decision-making skills he'd be a high school drop out at best.
