Microsoft will be streaming the Switch version of Minecraft on April 18th

Troll stream? Cause, I mean, is that how you'd really like to introduce your game to the public? Lol, and the guy on the left had a bit too much coffee me thinks, like spazzing the fuck out on the controls...

No matter how hard I try, I cannot say this isn't a big deal. At least for me it won't be, but MC is massive and its players unruly.

well that sucked

who owns beam?

anyway I'll still get Minecraft I am glad they say they will patch it to catch up with other versions but that was short as hell if you missed the whole thing going to twitch

They are going to play the Switch version docked(looks like they are having some technical issues with the switch direct feed) They said.

It's good this version is getting deliberate attention. A portable (as opposed to "mobile") version of Minecraft, with local co-op and WAN support to boot, sounds excellent. FAST RMX was the same sort of "perfect" for the platform.

Edit: Stream borked

Wait what is this!? There are race courses in Minecraft now?? Since when? Hoo boy it's been a while since I played the PC version, is this just for the console version?

Switch version does have bigger maps then the Wii U version. They just mentioned that in the stream. So I'm assuming the Switch version is the same version as the PS4/XBO version. Where as the Wii U one was the PS3/360 version.

That's big news.

Cool, glad I skipped the Wii U version.

he did follow up saying he is not sure how much bigger

he could have easily said matching Xbox One/PS4

maybe this is just in between Wii U and PS4

Heard that too but they didn't go any further than that. I don't even know how small Wii U maps can be so I can't get a feel of why that would be relevant for the typical person who knows more about Minecraft.

it does help to have a bigger map, more places to explore and larger building area for creatives

True but I don't see why it wouldn't be on par with the XBO and PS4 version. Switch could handle it. I think it's been said the Wii U could have handled that version without any issues. They just didn't port that version.

I was thinking of getting the PS4 version to hold me over until a new PC is built, but Switch may win that over if the price is right.

Is PS4 still doing cross buy with the small port fee for all 3 PS systems?

awesome he still giving Switch tidbits

so Switch will get this GLIDE DLC as soon as they can

they reason I say this is because of Portable mode being clocked down so much so I wonder if they can get parity

I never thought I'd say that I'm excited to buy Minecraft again, but Switch just seems like the perfect place to play. Hoping they get the tech sorted out to show us more game play. If nothing else I just want to see that Mario content that I missed on Wii-U.

Are they unaware that you can't stream from Switch in handheld mode?? Why in the hell are they trying this shantytown off-screen crap and not just dropping it in the dock to stream it properly?

Largest world size is medium, so it doesn't have as large of worlds as the PS4/XB1 versions which is kinda unfortunate. (source: just said and shown on the stream)

Performance itself looks pretty good though, so I still might consider getting it just for the portability factor.

Switch has been very easy to work with

60fps (in handheld mode)

Medium World Size (whatever that means.)

When it releases it will be on par on the January update and will be quickly caught up to the other versions after release.

It's just the GPU clocked down. The RAM to hold a certain portion of the world in memory doesn't change, nor the CPU taking care of whatever spawning/growing things going on there, and anything out of the immediate area is a matter of having the disk space to save it.
