Upcoming Vita Games (~200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2017 Edition ||

Owners: 620 ± 857

At least now it's preserved for future generations and will sell one million copies in 50 years.

It might crawl to HTOL#NIQ's 7.5k once it's discounted... below the $20 launch price.

Lol. I suppose we shouldn't make too much fun because without Steam, I'd imagine a few of these games may not have been coming west at all in the first place.

It's just amusing how all this 'putting all the eggs in the Steam basket' from localization houses seems to not be as stable as it once was.

Those numbers aren't good for anyone. Don't see anything funny in that. It'd be cool if NISA (or NIS even) continues to exist and bring small niche games

Vita version obviously sold 50k+ tho

Yeah, I'm sure this one release will absorb all the profits they make from their other franchises right?

Simmer down.

I decided to look up what XSEED had in the Steam store and wth, Trails 3rd is coming next week? Whaaaaaaaat?! It's been a long journey, but the trilogy will finally be complete (even thought the 3rd is an epilogue of sorts). Shame it couldn't be released digitally for the PSP (to be played on the Vita).

Hi folks. I just wanted to clarify my part in the Twitter campaign to bring Fata to the West.

I represent no individual company. I'm a freelance localization specialist on a very busy schedule, and I devote all my tiny shreds of free time to this. Awesomely, parties have expressed interest already.

It's about fan response now. Only the voices of the Vita faithful can make it happen.

As we all know, Vita means Life in Latin. Fata...means Fate.

Let's manifest our own fate, and continue to get the word out! ;)

Is anyone here apart of any Facebook groups that focus on Vita? That might help spread the word of the Fata Morgana Twitter campaign.

Yomawari 1.5/2 coming west this fall.

That was fast. And here I am waiting for Coven & Hero Must Die.

(Summoning Ani... chances of physical on Vita for this one?)

edit: So apparently this is a thing:

RT if you want to see 2064: Read Only Memories on the PSVita !

RT if you'd like to see 2064 on the Switch!

Amusingly, the Vita tweet trounced the Switch tweet and we got this reply:

we hear you loud and clear -- We've been hard at work on the Japanese localization and X1, but Vita will be our next big project!

But why were they even asking this? Why are they making it their "next big project" when it was supposed to release alongside the PS4 version? Kinda disappointing.

:(

I'm going to die of old age and Coven still won't be localized.

If I were to guess, getting Operation Abyss Babel out of the door -> Demon Gaze 2 and PC ports of 1 & 2 -> Coven?

But maybe not. Who knows? (Well, we know who knows, but he can't tell us).

I almost imported Hero Must Die for £20 the other day btw. But decided against it for now because there's not any good translation resources online (yet).

We should just learn Japanese. Will save us both the trouble :p.

I genuinely contemplated that a few years ago, but honestly, the situation is miles better these days than it used to be. I mean, compare to how many PSP games used to come over it's like night and day difference.

Just sadly, there's still a good few games I'd like that aren't available. Maybe one day :)

Did you know that "Fata Morgana" means a kind of mirage?

We finally got the weekly update post on the EU blog, Period Cube is releasing tomorrow

Stupid question, but digital & no mention of physical?

I'm still wondering what'll happen with my 365games preorder for Period Cube PAL version.

The thing about Unity and Vita...they just don't mix very well, I'm afraid. Sure, you can press Unity's magic button and pow you have a build, but it's bloated and huge. Tons of indie devs struggle with this.

MidBoss is a very small studio, and they have to devote their energies to the Japanese localization at the moment...no easy task for such a text-heavy game. I'm just happy they aren't conveniently forgetting the Vita version and remain committed to it.

I kinda feel like those tweets were their attempt to forget the Vita version because if no-one responded, they'd have a convenient excuse for "no-one interested, moving to Switch instead".

As long as it comes, I suppose I don't mind either way.

And yeah, I'm well aware of the Unity issues on Vita at this point, haha. I still feel like it's a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point - early devs never bothered so the engine has a terrible reputation on the platform, so people don't buy the ports if they're Unity, so devs can't be bothered putting the effort in because it won't sell that well on Vita anyway.

Gun Gun Pixies is out. Just got my copy today. Hope this is fun since Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash was a let down.

If anything, I'm guessing it was a random probe for Switch interest. They've stated their commitment to the Vita version far too many times to silently cancel it, I think.

First impressions on Gun Gun Pixies are that the game looks pretty nice, albeit simple, and has a crazy-high/smooth framerate. Maybe even 60 FPS but I'm bad at determining this. This is in the training mode...I don't know what's going to happen when one of the giant-sized human characters pops up.

I need a translation ASAP.

It's bizarre. Two job postings...one for a Sony assembly factory in Chiba for a "new model game machine". One for "face" people at a Sony Store to promote, again, a "new model game machine" at locations in Tokyo. The "face" job begins in June.

Maybe it's the PS4 Super Slim that has been hinted weeks ago.

That's probably it, alas. It is around E3 and there's no direct indication it's a portable, although Esuteru is associating it with one. And my mistake, the assembly plant is in Chiba, not Okinawa. Sleep deprivation FTW.

Watching a Reviews2go stream right now. Agree, performance looks solid. Bullet Girls 1 & 2 were 60fps I believe?

WHAT? Beginning in June?! It could only be a PCH-3000.

Oh my god. Is it happening? A new Vita model?

Haha. If it was, only about 2 years too late.

Can't see any new Vita models at this point in time. It's dying in Japan (has no big games coming anymore) and dead in the west (also no big games coming). No point.

So undeniably true. That's why I'm all kinds of furious at Esuteru for connecting these "new model hardware" job postings with Vita. My heart so does not need to be played with at this point. I do hope we get at least a couple more color variants before Sony pulls the manufacturing plug, though.

Nice, I'll probably be ordering it next week.
