BLAME!
This was awesome. Loved the concept. Really atmospheric - the idea of an endless 'city' that's lasted thousands of years, with human tribes so isolated they know nothing of each others presence. Would have liked more info on Killy and Chibo. Killy was kind of boring and flat but he gets points for being a bit of a badass I suppose. Would totally be up for a sequel, I feel like they can do so much more here.

The 3D wasn't bad but it does have areas they need to improve - characters were often stiff and lip syncing was bad.

For those who have read the manga, is it similar in story or completely different? Worth a read?

Tiger Mask W - 32

Haruna falling for Ryu, Takuma stealing Ruriko, guess ole Naoto is going to have to ride off into the sunset with Takaoka. Glad to see Tiger Mask back in good graces with NJPW, finally reclaimed his honour.

Re:Creators - 4

Magical school girl teamed up with the baddie, didn't see that coming. Everyone talks a lot, sometimes I feel the dialogue could be shortened by a couple more sentences.

It's a partial adaptation of an arc with an original take on it. Definitely worth reading! The art is just some of the best in term of manga.

Shingeki Episode 33

Series feels at its best when its Human v Human stuff, so I like where its going. Was actually really glad that the writer went the Eren losing route true to his origin story of never winning a fight, ultimately just want to know what Reiner and co's plans are.

Also Jean had lines, yes!

God, this thread's been so boring lately.

Hey GoldCrusader. Watch Code Geass and/or Madoka Magica. Just do it. No questions asked. I'm sure you can get somebody to watch My Hero Academia for them.

We need fresh blood for the reaction god.

That's going to be hard to do now. I'm starting a 40 hours/week job thuesday and Fire Emblem echoes is taking all the rest of my anime time.

Already watched Geass btw.

You might need another victim for the reaction god.

Samurai Jack season 5 episode 10

Even mentioning what anime they pulled off on this ending is a fucking spoiler lmao.

first 3 episodes: 9/10 easily

rest of the season: 6/10. 7/10 if I'm feeling generous. What a rushed disappointment I expected better.

Sam Jack was the one time someone could have topped Batman the animated series but they didn't

Hey at least we have more twin peaks tomorrow. That'll be good anime for sure. I hope James is there

Is there a general anime thread? I want to ask a question about an animation, well a fight scene actually, without derailing the purpose of this thread. If not I'll ask it here and hope someone has the answer. The animation in question isn't recent as far as I know.

Yeah, this is it bruh, but it may take some time for someone to see it, or maybe not, lol.

Manga is worth a read just for the unique worldbuilding and various sci-fi concepts alone which you don't see very often or even at all in other manga.

Emoting is not a thing someone can do traversing a solar system by foot. Killy is a stone golem type guy who lived so long that his mission is the only thing clear to him after all this time.
Blame features my favorite art-style and aesthetics in anything, sci-fi or not. Papers have been written on the use of architecture in his works with Blame having the most incredible ones imo. The nailed the look of the enviroment which matters the most, faces of characters can honestly be paper cut-outs and it would be an improvement on the manga faces, the look of people doesn't matter at all to me because the manga features way better creature and monster designs to make up for the lack of attractive characters.

OP is rad but I'm not sure there's much I really like about this.

Euromanga-sensei ep.7

Who da fuq is this girl again? How is she in love with big bro already? Lil' sis
confession
as well? What is this insanity? Cutest little sister in the world, huh...

I do wonder if in the books they took time to Introduce the new character. This episode story also felt like a multi book arc compressed into one episode.

A Silent Voice/Koe no Katachi

Being a fan of the manga hindered my enjoyment of the movie, sadly. Could only think about how odd the pacing was, how many of the scenes don't flow into each other, how the stuff they cut from the manga leads to some characters not really serving a purpose in the movie or having rushed character development, and how they needed more time to flesh things out. Would have worked better as a TV series.

Would still recommend people check it out though when they can. Would like to see more people's opinions on the movie. Might write a more extensive review later on once I've collected my thoughts more.

I loved it. Thought it was great. Thought the sound design was really good. It's been a while, but I thought it flowed ok.

Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter

Mediocre. The main mystery was pretty dull, and the romantic sub-plot with Heiji and Kazuha wasn't even resolved after the movie hyped it up so much (not that the outcome was ever in question).

Dennou Coil 8-10
The mysteries progress on a steady pace, I think I had read the opposite. Actually, I'm surprised with how stuffed each episode is. Also, it's nice to finally see Amasawa's other side, as the latest few episodes made her seem quite nasty. I mean, I even felt bad for Saatchi. What has surprised me the most, though, is Fumie's and Daichi's interactions. Daichi annoys me a lot, but I really like their scenes. Her obliviousness and his shyness are a cute mix, I enjoyed the festival episode a lot. Fumie is just the best possible deuteragonist the show could ask for.
...And my favourite trope of people getting drunk on alcohol sweets is back...

You're right that the world building and mystery unraveling is part of most episodes. The first half of the show is from a bit more of an episodic nature whereas the second half has a more focused, continuous plot. That being said, just about everything that's established in the former is actually of relevance.

There's only one kinda odd episode right in the middle that has a 'Simpson's did it first' plot that feels a bit out there. I think it was episode 12 and maybe it was just half of it, can't quite recall.

And yeh Fumie and Daichi have great chemistry.

So can anyone explain to me why a harem show featuring 12 year old girls including a little sister is so damn popular? Like at what point can we say harem romcoms have gone too far?

Sitting here, somewhat hungover while my friends have MHA playing in the background. GoldCrusader would be proud.

Based on the snippets I've peeked at so far, definitely not for me. Now I need to wait for my turn to use the TV to watch Eccentric Family S2. Though we have a lot of things to do today, so that might have to wait till tomorrow.

Shingeki no Kyojin 2nd Season Episode 8
And nothing important happens. Seems weird that, with such a finite number of episodes, they'd insert something that's fairly filler-y. We already know Eren, Mikasa and Armin's respective characters. We do not need another flashback to further cement it because they've basically not changed at all.

On the other hand, there were some unintentionally funny moments - the Titan lounging in the hole and the fact that thee lifts with horses were, for some reason, going up in one scene and then down in the next. Did anyone else notice that?

Re:CREATORS Episode 7
There's still a lot of episodes left, but despite that, it feels like we're winding down to the final battle. So I'm curious to see how this proceeds. I understand if the MC is ashamed to say that he created the Military Uniform Princess, but he should really tell his team. For coming from a kids show, Magical Girl is pretty smart.

GRANBLUE FANTASY The Animation Episode 8
COME ON AND SLAM. Also, those sand and water physics. When the closed off room got flooded with water, the water completely drained out somehow.

Well, they transferred the horses from Hange's squad from the inner side of the wall to the outer one. Armin specifically pointed out how they couldn't have pursued immediately anyways with the horses still stuck at the bottom of the wrong side. They also lowered the horses that were arriving with Erwin's troop already on the wall.

Granblue Fantasy is the most soulless anime I have seen in years. It feels like the animators hate the franchise, themselves and the whole world while working on it.

Wait I'm not in the know, what show are we talking about. Eromanga ? SukaSuka ?

Eccentric Family S2 07

So I assume Yasaburo was faking it in his speech
to protect Yodogawa ?

Benten with
a blood of another tanuki on her hands,
sasuga.

Pretty surprising turn of events all around.

Rakugo season 2 1-12

Such a joy to sit through. 20 minutes just evaporate every episode because i was so absorbed the whole time. Actually liked it a tiny bit more than the first season.

Probably the only thing that stuck in my craw was the final episode the revelation that
Shinnoske might be Bon's child. Just no, no to that implication.

That last part honestly ruined so much of the show for me. Thinking back to certain points of the story after seeing that had me shook

Btw, Yasaburo is the new 'Hotei'. I googled him and he is the Laughing Buddha.

Maybe that name was chosen because this part

Folklore
Budai in folklore is admired for his happiness, plenitude, and wisdom of contentment. One belief popular in folklore maintains that rubbing his belly brings wealth, good luck, and prosperity.

as rubbing a Tanuki belly is supposed to give you powers or luck I think? Of course a happiness and plenitude god goes well with him.
