Xbox Game Pass - Includes over 100 Games at Launch, 14 Day Trial (Live Now)

It's too bad it's not more like EA Access, where you'd maybe get a % off new Microsoft Studios titles / DLC or early access or something. Right now it seems just like a backlog of games that are good for people who maybe haven't had an Xbox before but not for people already bought into the ecosystem.

Their site specifically lists discounts.

Discounts on Xbox One games

Love an Xbox One game and want to own it? Interested in an add-on or Season Pass for a title you’re playing in the Xbox Game Pass catalog? Save 20% on Xbox One game purchases and 10% on all related add-ons, but only while the base game is currently in the catalog.

Unless that's not what you meant.

It looks like it's only for games in the game pass catalog, which right now look like they're all 2-3 years old at least. At least that's what I'm interpreting? Maybe I'm wrong.

This is indeed to mold somewhat like EA Access and of course as rumors have pointed out this is indeed very close to what the original plan for the Xbox One was.

I love the plan myself.

So this is EA access but with more games and non EA titles? I can get behind this !

But I guess they won't have EA games as then it'll make EA access a bit redundant.

So XBL is not required? All my friends main PS4 so I've let my XBL sub expire because I never play multi there anymore. Depending on the game lineup I may still give this a shot.

You don't think Gears would be there? The ad in the OP says "chainsaw other dudes", I can't imagine MS thought that'd be a good line to put on something advertising a new program if it's going to be like Gears 3. When they could have said something about Halo or something which is newer and bigger.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if even HW2 makes it aswell, not like the sales are lighting the charts on fire anyway. The only thing I can see wrong with HW2 is it might set a precedent to hold off on future MS games like people do with EA Access.
In mean gears 4. I expect it and halo wars 2 to be there eventually but not at launch

It's going to be Gears 1 Ultimate Edition (plus all Gears games from the 360).

If this service takes off, then Sony and Nintendo need to steal this idea. They definitely have the catalog to back such a service.

112 games, pretty good list to build from and to grow. It seems ID@XBOX is involved, hopefully if it's successful we will see a lot more ID games on the platform. It's seems the major publishers are testing it out with certain games first before they put weight behind. I could see xbox putting on say one first party game every month to get people interested, like gears 4 one month, Ryse another or Quantum break.

Hope this goes well. It's a novel idea and could be pretty great. For a casual person, games with gold, EA Access, and Gamepass is more games than they could ever play already, and for not an absurdly high price annually altogether.

Because of my backlog, this probably won't be useful for me personally, but that's a good offering. EA Access has seemed really strong so far, and that's one where you can regularly get a year subscription for $25. After trying PS Now, I basically decided streaming wasn't acceptable for the types of games I put the most time into. The pricing for that was also pretty silly (stacking subscription with "buying" individual games).

Edit: Damn, that's a good game list. 3+ months of this service bundled with new consoles would be an easy sell if they can communicate it to people. I think marketing it is going to be their one challenge.

Glad we have the full list now! Definitely not enough there for me to justify subscribing right away, but I know I'll use and love Game Pass in time. Can't wait to see what they'll do with it going forward!

Not sure if this list is different in different regions.

Good deal if you never played those SEGA classics. Many games are from past GWGs but I kind of expected that.

This is going to be a huge bundle inclusion this holiday for Microsoft. Buy an Xbox One this Christmas and get instant access to over 100 games including Halo 5 and Gears of War Ultimate with a free 3 month trial of Xbox Game Pass.

XONE games are definitely in the minority, not that many are Xbox exclusives and there's also plenty of recent GWG games, but it's still a solid list. I can see myself subscribing for a month or two to play some games.

Kinda disappointed.. Don't know what I expected though lol

There are a few games I'll play but I can't see me subscribing for more than a month until they add more games

I would have thought they would put Quantum Break in it. I may get it just to play Bioshock since i never finished those games. Hopefully they stay up there long. Glad to see a lot of indie games in there though.

Yeah for that price against EA Access all MS first party should be on and up to date.

I'm surprised they didn't add at least one kinect game. KSR or Fruit Ninja game. I guess they don't wanna throw us suckers with a kinect a bone :(

Massive value add on. I'd expect to see something like that with every Xbox bundle this hilolidat no question.

It gets even better for them as they add more GaaS and other micro transaction enabled titles. H5 in particular is gonna make them a pretty penny just being included.
