Prydz is playing his entire EPIC 5.0 set tomorrow on his Beats 1 show.
I just listened to it, and it's largely not really my cup of tea but to be honest I wouldn't take this release too seriously. Something tells me this was not aimed at a North American/European market, a good chunk of this isn't even in English at all.
Major Lazer has overall definitely taken a dip in their quality of music though.

For those who want to listen to it.
A week on and the goosebumps listening to that back has changed my opinion, 5.0 did deliver. I can't listen to the likes of Every Day, Generate and OPUS without thinking back to that day.
He's playing in Glasgow (two hour drive away from me) next Friday at a smaller venue for three hours. The temptation is real.

Anyway to be clear I didn't say he didn't have his own style at all, it's mostly the drops in that regard, I just don't like his writing direction for a variety of reasons, but that's an issue with EDM in general non-exclusive to Illenium.

Not sure which part you're referring to but friends didn't want to do the whole weekend (and honestly I can't handle more than 1 day lol) and I'm not a fan of psy. I live for melodies. Nothing kills my mood more than an amazing tranve melody that suddenly gets killed off with a damn psy drop with red lasers in my face. It's like ratchet trance to me lol
That said, Im not against all psy. I'm open to some but I just hate most. I like the seven lions psy remix of Silence
