Star Wars |OT| I have a very good feeling about this...

Beautiful.

Looking forward to seeing more salt on Gaming side because of prequel locations and characters :)

I still don't get it. Even if you hate the prequels, a better variety of maps and heroes cannot be a bad thing.

I loved TFA but if they ignored the prequels and only focused on the sequel trilogy, adding Takodana, D'Qar and Starkiller Base to the map pool wouldn't add any new environments to the mix.

Really liked Vader #1, even with the goofy retcon at the beginning. However, my interest immediately dropped when Vader had to fight those no name thieves. Wish he still got to stay on Coruscsnt for a bit.

I'm also surprised Palpatine didn't mind wasting the kyber crystals in those lightsabers.

After reading the issue, your latter point stood out to me too. The Death Star was being constructed at this point, why throw them away? The Empire were scouring the galaxy for them.

I also think Maul's mini-series conflicts a bit with Palpatine's Sith teachings here.
Maul's desperate to reveal himself to the Jedi in that series, but wouldn't he have already killed one if he had to take their kyber crystal for his own saber?

Enjoyed the issue a lot overall though. Vader's suit looked a bit off at times but Camuncoli's art seems to be a good fit for the series.

In Legends their crystals were red because they used synthetic crystals.

That never made much sense to me. I always thought that they were genuine kybers with something done to them to make them red.

I'm thinking that those ones in particular were disposed of in order to make a point to the public. Otherwise, I think they saved all the rest. In Catalyst, Galen is shown several specimens of crystals after the war that were implied to have been taken out of lightsabers.

Darth Vader #1 was cool. Not really bothered by the reason the lightsabers are red. But this period between the prequels and original trilogy is always really interesting to me, and so is a fresh Vader in the suit. So I'm down to see where this goes.

I would assume that Maul
was given crystals from previous Sith lightsabers because Sheev didn't trust him to not blow their cover yet.

What I'd like to know is if Dooku's red crystal comes from Sifo Dyas!

Just watched Rogue One for the first time.

That was...bland. Had it's moments. But man was it dull. It's still a better movie than any of the prequels though.

So I FINALLY caught up on Rebels and watched all of season 3. Really enjoyed it a lot!

- Sabine's arc was unexpectedly great. She changed from eh to one of the best characters in the show Great stuff all around and looking forward to seeing her conclusion next season.
- The Maul storyline's climax was a bit underwhelming. I really wished they made it into a two-parter cause it REALLY needed it bad.
- Kanan becoming more Jedi-like this season was pretty interesting as a whole I felt. He finally is somewhat transitioning to being a legit Jedi Master of sorts, despite not officially being one.
- Still no sightings of Ahsoka. :(
- I like Thrawn, but really wanted to see Vader too this season. Never got that.
- Speaking of Thrawn at first I was underwhelmed in his debut but after seeing him kick ass throughout the season I'm officially sold on this version of him. Great addition to the villain roster of Star Wars! I just hope they don't kill him off so easily.

The season felt rather slow at times, but I still enjoyed it a lot for what it offered. Season 4 is shaping up to be pretty interesting, though I'm unsure if the Ghost crew will have a happy ending whether they take out Thrawn or not.

This reminds me of something at least but I cant remember exactly

You're probably thinking thinking of the upcoming reference book, 'On The Front Lines'. It's supposed to be an in-universe look at some of the galaxy's key battles.

From the Clone Wars and the Rebellion to the clashes with the First Order, the galaxy is defined by war. Star Wars: On the Front Lines chronicles the tactics, weapons, and armor used in pivotal battles along with acts of valor achieved during the campaign. By focusing on elements of the battles that occurred "off screen," this collection brings the struggles faced by ground soldiers and starfighter pilots to life like never before, placing the reader on the battlelines.

With full-spread, classic illustrations that capture the sweeping scale of these historical battles, On the Front Lines brings a fresh look at the forces who fought on the front lines.

Is there even an in-universe Star Wars history book in general? Perhaps one detailing all the...you know, wars in Star Wars. That would be pretty rad.

The Essential Guide to Warfare is probably the closest to that but it includes a lot of content that's not canon as it was published before Lucasfilm hit the reset button.
