I really love how Diebuster has so many similarities with Gunbuster, but it's still very, very different. It's not a matter if it can surpass Gunbuster, it's so unique it doesn't even matter.
But I liked Diebuster more.

That's true. I think by itself, Diebuster is a good OVA standalone and in a way, you could just watch this OVA without watching Gunbuster and will like it (whether it's storyline/plot, action scene/ or even fan service is up to the audience who watch it). I think fans who watch Gunbuster and then watch this sequel when it first release in Japan might be a bit disappointed as the tone of the show is much different from the original. It feel a bit on the wacky side like FLCL (not saying it's bad as I love FLCL) even though Gunbuster does have some comedy tone at the beginning of the OVA.

Still, I do love both OVA for what it try to do and would recommend to people watch if they can.

Well that was quick, I don't even remember what happens there to vex you so much. ;p

I won't say much because this isn't the place for the manga discussion and people that are stronger than me and hold for next season have the right to be annoyed.

But that
Jack The Ripper 3DMG Gunslinger Ackerman guy
sure was a disgrace.

Shokugeki no Soma Episode 7: Nikumi's character design is kind of ridiculous. It's funny though, even though this is early into the series, this is probably one of my favorite cooking battles since Soma's victory came with a reasonable twist. Compare that to his ost recent battle in the manga which was a bunch of bullshit. :p

Pretty good analysis, on MHA tournament arc. I feel like the show has done well until they ran into this tournament arc. It feels like it was done as more of a formality than showing any kind of true purpose like in other shounens. Anyways I am hoping that now that its ending they can get back to just fighting Villains.

It may not be good as other tournament arcs, but it's pretty reductive to say it doesn't have any true purpose. And wanting it to go back to "just fighting villains" feels weird for you to say, considering they're in school to learn how to be a pro hero, meaning they're obviously gonna do more than just fight the bad guys.

Fuck YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

S2 was incredible, Sawano's music elevates every scene, especially during all those poignant moments.

I meant fighting villains as in whatever they were doing before this tournament arc, if that clears it up. But yea this Tournament arc other than the Todoroki and Deku fight has been laughably bad as the other poster has surmised through his/her analysis.

My Hero Academia 25

This episode is all about portraying the tear-jerking and inspiring story of how a goddamned psychopath can keep raging his way into success instead of being thrown into a mental institution to receive treatment for his anger issues where he belongs.

It's a really laudable statement, the one this show provides. "If you are a troubled individual who suffers from severe maniacal outbursts, nonexistent to subpar at best social skills, a troubling lack of communication skills, an absolute lack of sense when it comes to de-escalation and a seemingly complete disregard for the wellbeing of human life then a career dedicated to serving and protecting civilians is the way to go for you!". Truly, truly inspiring stuff. Topical, too.

Oh and the animation was nice.

Rin Daughters of Mmmmseen 04

There are individual moments in this show that are of good trash quality like Rin and the Android lady falling into the jet propeller and just turning into mush or the guy shooting the dog and then the dog comes back because apparently its immortal too and nobody explains this but the rest of the 40 minutes of runtime is just boring and the show isn't good to look at. Like the individual stories aren't interesting at all. Sadly there is no trashy OVA that contains the nuance and quality of Mad Bull 34

The more I think about it the more it feels like MHA is the Snyderverse of Shounen fighting animu shows.

No thats Bleach. Trying far too hard to be artsy, thinking its saying something meaningful when its all empty bullshit and not understanding how a story actually works.

Re:Creators - 11

A lot more talking on this episode. We barely know more than we did last week. This whole episode could have been fit into 10mins and it would have given us the same amount of information.

My Hero Academia 18

Better than the previous episode. The action animation was stylish enough to pretty much carry the episode by itself, despite the annoying dimming, but Ken Ootsuka's storyboard also took advantage of the animation better than Kou Matsuo's. The animation was able to convey a variety of different emotions during the course of the episode and so help with the characterization, especially of Bakugo's nearly-out-of-control rage. Strong layouts throughout. I still question aspects of the script's pacing, but the episode's direction handled it well enough.

I was disappointed that Class B's Momoma was kicked out of competition. His approach of trying to carefully take advantage of Class A's weaknesses was interesting, and having it blown aside by guts was kind of lame. On the other hand, I like the dynamic that's developing with Todoroki and his father.

I think the thing about adapting My Hero Academia is while arcs travel at a pretty decent speed in it, character development happens at a very gradual pace. In the most recent episode, Deku thinks about how he needs to make One for All his own,
but that doesn't really happen for some time.
There's not a big power up or character revelation every arc. Another aspect of MHA that may not sit well with others is the large cast. While some characters get focus and development, some seem like they'll always be background characters. That means the characters you may feel drawn to may not really factor too much into the plot. I like Hanta Sero's design and quirk, but he's basically a background character. (At least up to where I've read.)

On that note Tokoyami who got quite a bit of focus during the Sports Festival pretty much goes back to being a side character.

Is this the season where they get to the basement?

Dragonball Super 95

Why does this episode not only look better then Resurrection of F but also makes Freeza seem way more powerful? Shida should just direct the entire series.

Oh my God. I actually thought Freeza's little gambit was going to payoff and that was the reason they kept Buu in all the promo material and openings as part of the team. That would've been good, I didn't even see it coming. But it will probably be more entertaining to watch him work on a team.

I think it says a lot about Dragonball Z and beyond's combat that a fight where they can only land one punch is way more exciting then the usual stuff. Seeing Freeza rampaging around on a bunch of mooks was fun, especially since it looked far better then the usual DB stuff.

The next 20 episodes -

Dragon Ball Super Episode 95

Shitheel Supreme Kai-"Uhhh, you don't seem to understand, if your universe's team looses, your entire universe, your whole reality is gone. Surely there must be somethi-

Frieza-"I just wanna kill Goku. Just thinking about how I'm gonna kill Goku makes me stronger. That's how much I wanna kill Goku."

AoT Manga Spoiler

Well, it's almost 4 a.m. and the two most recent chapters just absolutely destroyed me. I'm hardly even sure what to think about the insane basement revelations, yet, as it's honestly difficult to process all. But man, Reiner and co. ...and most of the major characters really. ;______;

While I didn't enjoy the arc following this anime season's end and there's a bunch of stuff I'm still uncertain about, there's even more that has me in awe.

Fuck man, I can't even imagine how good some of this stuff is going to be for the anime if the production is at least on par with this season 2.

The best episode of the season by far. Nothing comes close. Anime has been saved.

It's actually in both Oreimo After Story and at the end of the third LN of Eromanga. The After Story version goes on a bit more.
Oreimo spoiler beyond this
It's where Kuroneko reveals that Kirino's constantly telling her about what she does with Kyousuke. The cat also reveals that Kirino and Kyousuke are still together and Kirino should no longer be considered pure at all thanks to whatever it is that they do together. Other than that, it's the same scene.

Tiger Mask W 28

This ep was so rough (in a good way) due to Naoto refusing to confront Takuma and how natural the Tiger Mask heel turn felt, as if it was correcting the events of the first series and that Tiger Mask belonged in that role all along.

They could just replace RoF with...return of Ganon I don't give a fuck RoF wasnt good
