What is your favorite incarnation of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf?

For Link I would have to go for the Wind Waker version. It's the only link that I really feel emotes and shows actual personailty besides the standard heroic one like in other games. Plus his design is awesome.

My favorite Zelda is the one from Skyward Sword no question.

And for Ganondorf it's a tie between Wind Waker and OOT. OOT because I love the design and his personailty and WW because of his characterization and more sympathetic nature.

My favorite of all three is easily from Wind Waker. But then, Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda. I expect a lot of correlation like this from other posters.

Link, it's probably Wind Waker. so much charisma. as a character, i prefer Ganondorf from Wind Waker too, but design wise, i just adore him on Hyrule Warriors.
Zelda is Breath of the Wild.

I'm torn on Zelda between Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

Link is easily Wind Waker. Every other incarnation is dull as dish water.

Ganon's gotta go to Wind Waker again. Just an all around great characterization.

Windwaker wins in personality although I heard good things about Zelda in Skyward Sword.

Ganondorf design looks great in TP and the other two look amazing in Breath of the Wild.

Link: A toss up between WW/PH and Breath of the Wild. The former for all the animation quirks and the latter for the snarky, smart ass answers you could give for things.

Ganondorf: Definitely OOTs. I love the long hair, the organ playing and the "fuck you hero" before he transforms (which is also the best Ganon incarnation, although the Calamity Canon sequence was incredible as well)

Zelda: This is tough. Honestly, I feel like between Spirit Tracks, WW (if we include Tetra) and Breath of the Wild, I've enjoyed most of her recent incarnations. I feel like she was fleshed out more in BotW if you got all the memories and read her journals

WW's Zelda is the worst of all.

SS's is awesome. But BOTW's takes the cake for me.

Regarding Link, Wind Waker is the obvious choice.

And there is no better Ganondorf than the first one.

Breath of the Wild for Zelda & Ganon. Love how the villain (visually) is the embodiment of pure evil, & I like Zelda's characterization in that game.

As for link? It's a three-way tie with his WW/TP/SS incarnations.

Link: Wind Waker - He is so expressive and beautifully designed. A kid that by chance ended up saving the world.

Zelda: Skyward Sword - She actually has a lot to do with the plot and her relationship with Link is fantastic.

Ganondorf: Wind Waker - What more can I say but to play the game or watch his story bits?


Runner Up: Breath of the Wild Zelda - plays an important role in the story, has a great design, and has a significant portion of screen time.

Link: BOTW. He's just extremely cute and good.

Zelda: Wind Waker. She actually gets to do shit in this one! Tetra is cool as heck.

Ganon: Ocarina of Time. Classic. The Ganon fight is one of the best final boss fights ever for me.

Link: I'm going to have to agree with Wind Waker link being my favorite, although he's pretty great in Breath of the Wild too. In both they had small details that gave them some welcome personality.

Zelda: I really like the Twilight Princess Zelda, mostly for her design but I also like her in Skyward Sword as well.

Ganondorf: Wind Waker definitely due to the amount of characterization he was given.

Zelda: Spirit Tracks, she's so far the only incarnation of the character that has both a personallity of her own that develops throughout the entire game with interaction with her Link, and does not fall into the damsel in distress situation where you need to save her.
Unless you count saving her body, but her ghost is always with you doing stuff

Ganondorf: Hyrule Warriors, look at that mane, mang

Link - TP. Liked the design and the wolf transformation stuff
Zelda - WW (Midna is better than any Zelda though). WW Zelda wasn't taking shit from anyone.
Ganon - Probably OoT. He actually gets a BIT more fleshed out in this game than others, usually showing up as the final boss and that's it.

BotW link. He's by far the most competent. If you were to take magic away and focus on the fighting abillity of the links then this one would be the scariest one from a mainline Zelda title.


My favorite Zelda was probably Spirit tracks. She was a great teammate and I hope to see more Zelda's like this soon.

Favorite Dorf was WW. Here he had ALL the cards and was very imposing.

Link and Zelda have the best chemistry in SS. The characters had a lot of emotion. Zelda was no slouch, i really would like to see a game take on Zelda's quest for SS.
Ganon is a close toss up between oot and ww, but because of his origin in a sense being told, along with intro to gerudo culture that remained untouched till botw, i gotta give it to oot.

For Link, I like the Twilight Princess design the most, which is funny considering it's my least favorite 3D Zelda. It feels like a modernized version of Miyamoto's original design. Link is still a lefty, which is a cool unique trait I always appreciated.

For Zelda, I'll have to go with either Skyward Sword or Breath of the Wild.

Ganondorf, Twilight Princess. Again, a modern take on the Ocarina of Time design.

Windwaker for Link and Zelda, especially when Zelda was Tetra.

Hyrule Warriors for Ganondorf, badass design.

BotW Link is pretty cool too since you can customize him.
