I won't deny there is some questionable stuff in NGNL, but there is a ton of great in there as well.

that being said.... it will be super interesting to see Gaf's reaction if a season 2 is made. Though part of me wonders if they won't just adapt books 4 and 5 as a series of OVA after the movie given book 6 is the movie, and I don't think you could stretch those books out to 12 eps very easily, but you could do 4-6 30 min ova no problem.

I'm surprised to hear that they are skipping parts in the story as you outlined. Why wouldn't they do a short series of OVAs before the movie launches to make it all play out correctly?

I think AoT S2, MHA S2, and Sakura Quest were the stand outs this season for me, in the end. Tsukigakirei was also really nice.

Sword Oratoria and ReCreators are good, bit flawed, but good. Royal Tutor was also good. Atom: The Beginning got better after it got to the Robo Wrestling.

Kado I was positive on, although not terribly crazy about. I do think it lost its own plot by this point. Sorta the same with Grimoire of Zero and Girl Beats Boys. Eromanga fluctuated a lot for me too.

Seven Mortal Sins I haven't watched enough of, kinda ran out of time to follow it week to week.

So not an astounding season in my eyes, but not bad. Summer feels dry to me, but that's mostly because non of the PVs are grabbing me. Which doesn't mean much because I thought Konosuba was uninteresting until I actually saw it.

The movie is a prequel afaik.

Ya see, this is why I try not to get hung up with source material. *monogatari already makes my head spin.

So what books made up Season 1?

It would still be the same show without it, so it's already good.

You will not get any objections here. I really enjoyed the show, but I'm also able to look over certain aspects of it that other cannot.

ID-0 was an amazing series. Props to the group from /m/ for their hard work.

Seriously though, that was totally galactic Scub Coral.

SukaSuka END

Goddamn those feels. I really love the calming music as things are going crazy. That was so good.

Also, here is the translated LN part that goes with the endign battle of the anime. This gives me even more feels lol. I feel like in the anime they did speak a little too much at that part, and they coulda conveyed what the LN said a bit better, but it still was really well done. Too bad there almost defintiely won't be another season of this, I think I may go read the LNs soon though.

Thank you for one of the best GIFs I've seen in a long time, I must go back and finish this. I kind of fell off half way through the season as really good video games came along and merely OK anime had to make way. Of the shows I was watching I think I'm only interested in finishing are:

Royal Tutor
Kenka Bancho (that fight animation)
Suka Suka
Bastard Instructor (although when I dropped off an awful lot of plot was starting to stink the place up)

Eccentric Family S02 (never really started it but I will get to it)

Has anything else been notable for it's late season up tick?

SukaSuka END

I'm pretty happy with how this show ended. A bittersweet ending like this was the only way this show should have ended.
Chtholly finally fucking died, sure she was reborn but I'm glad her weird love affair with Willem is dead and buried since she is a toddler now. I know there's a good chance Nephren died but I want to believe she survived everything.

Aiii

So not worth it

There were two blips on the radar, one for Willem and one for Nephren, Chtholly saved her when she absorbed the excess magic.

This has been a pretty disappointing season overall.

I'm tempted to say that the best show was Attack on Titan S2, which really speaks to the quality of the rest of the competition.

I can only pray things pick up later in the year.

A little harsh on Attack on Titan, it was an actual good show worthy of the hype this season, unlike the first season.

He had his chance and he blew it!

He's just waiting for Inuyasha to invite him to the group

Oh welp, that's good then. I expected Willem survived but wasn't sure about Nep.

But they cannot
makes babies, and they are stuck on the surface together
so I guess humanity as a whole is completely gone.

Willem should have impregnated the Ogre when he had the chance. She was all about it as well...

Sukasuka ending and vol 4 &5 Quick summary from what I remember currently of course I am leaving out details. Just the major points.
Willem and Ren encounter the only first beast, which is the brown hair girl you see in Willem flashback, she creates a dream world while waiting for willem to return. And they go on a grand adventure learning the fate of humanity. afterwords, they return to the real world as half-beasts. Willem has most of his memories sealed away in order to maintain his humanity while ren doesnt suffer the effects. After befriending elk, and not knowing who she is, willem is required to stop a plot by the military to use leprechauns as living, souless, mindless weapons. doing this causes him to regain his memories and so he allows himself to be killed by the current wielder of senioris before turning into the first beast. Nils, Willem's teacher in the past turns out to be another god. Nils offer Willem to become a god and join him on his travels. Willems turn him down and picks to fall into a coma like state and die. However he comes back 10 years later and its indicated he meets a blue hair girl falling out of the sky much like ep 1. They both make it back to the warehouse and troll girl knew who he was. Thus ending vol 5 and sukasuka. Ren doesnt suffer any effects really and goes to live with the skull on that island. Doesnt really mention much about her afterwards in sukasuka besides she wants to find whatever happens to Willem. I am assuming her role will be touched upon in the sequel sukamoka, which are about the 4 children as soldiers.

Oh my that is some amazing nonsense, lol.

I didn't want to look but I had to. They stopped at the right point, imo. They just shouldn't have teased the other stuff at the end..

So the writer is fucking determined to have Willem get with Chtholly that he will have Willem go into stasis multiple times over many years and have her reborn multiple times and grow up again to do it? Wow. How dumb, yet I would love to watch every minute of it.

It reads a lot better, prob since i left out the details and just hit the key points. Atleast when i read it :p

Pretty much.
Its not really explain how or why. From my understanding Willem was able to convince Nils or something and they come to an understanding eventually. I should have mention it is "implied" that Willem returns. Doesn't really state that it is Willem. Since the wording mirrors the first meeting of Willem and Chtholly like in eps 1 (or rather when they first meet in the novel). Along with troll girl knowing and crying upon seeing the person.
Timeline wise, Sukamoka takes place
after Willem falls in the coma and before the meeting with Riel ( reincarnated Chtholly). Since Riel ( reincarnated Chtholly) is a child still in Sukamoka. As of now, the sequel doesn't really mention much about Willem, Chtholly and Ren besides the 4 girls thinking about them. But I think they will eventually merge to explain the details that was left out. Also Ren gets the best ending by becoming immortal due to becoming half beast.

p.s @ Doctor Hawk, Poi poi

When is that show going up on Netflix?

I'm not familiar with Netflix's track record when it comes to something like this. You could maybe compare air dates of Kuromukuro and Netflix release date?

It's only 12 episodes right and finished airing? Unless I'm misremembering past releases would indicate it going up next month. Although I don't think we've heard anything. I suppose it could be a sorta 'stealth' release, or it'll arrive a little bit later. I think that happened with Seven Deadly Sins as I recall, it took a little longer than some of the others.

This is such a stupid show, however, it managed to make me LMFAO for a few episodes, so it's doing something right!

I love how anime it is without making use of any visual effects but only relying on elements of live action film - camera, sound effects/BGM and dialogue delivery. This is a pretty darn look at what distinguishes animation from live action.

Things are getting pretty exciting as Honoo approaches a publisher fully confident about his work. I loved the scene where he takes the opportunity to enact all his favorite characters, quite relateable.

Oh and that ED is lovely.

She belongs in a Nanoha anime, which apparently this show really wants to be.

As a Chris fan myself, I can only say that if you kind of enjoyed her presence in the show even a little bit, there's more in store for her development etc in Season 2. Trust me. Some very good moments too.

if you are enjoying it right now, then you will absolutely adore it by the end. the weakest part of the series by far is the start.

season 1 of no game no life were books 1-3.
the movie is book 6 which is a prequel book.
skipping 4-5 to get to 6 really won't change things as far as I know, but books 4-5 are for sure required to do stuff beyond that, because plenty of stuff goes down in 4-5, which is funny because the author set out to have absolutely nothing of interest happen in book 4 originally. it was to be the beach episode of light novel books lol.
