Monalisa Perez was charged with manslaughter after she accidentally shot Pedro Ruiz in the chest while making a YouTube video for the couple's vlog.

Perez told police that she shot from a foot away while Ruiz held the book to his chest.

She used a .50 caliber Desert Eagle firearm which authorities recovered from the grass near the house.
They had ~150 subscribers to their channel.

If old it's just a prank bro.

If you're going to do something this stupid, at least do a test first and make sure the book can stop the bullet. Idiots.

How about shooting the book without holding it in front of your chest to see if the bullet goes through BEFORE holding it in front of your chest?

Fucking idiots.

This hardly sounds like an accident.

The logical side of me is thinking that these 2 just didn't think about what they were doing.. the part of me that watches way too many murder mysteries is telling me she knew that the bullet would kill him because she switched out the gun model they were gonna use for the vid at the last minute and then planned on acting like it was just a goof.

How old do you need to be to own a gun in the US? Don't you have to be like 21 or something to be an adult. I assume it was his gun and he gave it to her and said shoot me. Can't really see how she could be guilty of a crime if she is a minor? If you going to let everyone and their dog roll around with a hand cannon you really need a basic level of education. This is stupidity on an insane level.

P.S. The post above me is savage and I am going straight to hell for laughing.

.50 vs a book? I mean, did they even test this before doing this? You'd kinda think that they did and thus had the confidence to go along with it.

How fucking dumb were these two? I mean seriously. They went and flu d the biggest fucking hand cannon most people have heard of, and thought a book would stop it?

So if she isn't lying, the guy wanted to make a video of her shooting a gun at a book that he was holding on his chest, because he thought it would stop the round

What bunch of idiots. Rest in peace and all that but come on now.
