Is it okay to use the handicap stall if you're not handicapped?

So, this is something I've kind of wondered before, and seeing the topic come up when watching an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, I figured I'd ask via a thread.

Like, I've admittedly done it before, and it somehow feels like less of an "issue" than if you were to use a handicap parking spot, which is definitely not cool (maybe due to the quicker turnabout time of using it?) But I can't deny that I'd feel guilty as hell if I were to come out of the stall and someone was waitibg there in a wheelchair or something.

So yeah, thoughts?

If there's two stalls and one is occupied and the other's a handicap one, I'll go and just use it quickly. If a handicap person is waiting when I get out I'll apologize and leave it at that. Sometimes you really gotta go.

Here's my question. You go to the bathroom, there's only one stall. The door is big. The inside is roomy. There are no special markings on it. Is it the handicapped stall, or can you use it?

If you gotta go, you gotta go. I wouldn't make it a priority to use the handicap stall or anything, but if there's nobody there I don't see a problem with a quick shit. Now if you got one of those half hour shits brewin then be kind and wait for a regular stall just in case a handicapped person comes along.

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
I once used the handicapped toilet at the beach cause it has a shower inside and i can change privately. I was in there for about 15 minutes and when I came out there was a guy in a wheelchair just waiting outside the door. Dunno how long he was waiting but he didn't look happy. I ran like a muthafucka.

I think the episode presents Larry as being correct. The handicap accessible stall more like a handicap seat on a bus than a handicap parking space in a parking lot -- reserved if someone who has a handicap comes along, but free otherwise.

Also, where I live, it's illegal to park in handicap spaces if you don't have a placard. Not so with stalls. Just don't be a jerk and go in one when a handicapped person is entering the restroom.

Yes. I need my space.

J/,k I don't poop in cubicles with enormous gaps above, below, and between the walls.

They're accessible to handicapped, not exclusive to handicapped.

One and done

Decorum states you use any regular stall first. If all are taken, use the handicap

Using it while other regular stalls are readily available. Thats definitely shitty.
