I'm going through Revenant Wings again and I want to reiterate my PSA:

If you enjoyed XII's characters/world, and can tolerate a simple strategy game, consider playing through Revenant Wings - there's a nice story and lots of great character moments in there.

It's very weak to wind so use magic and any wind elemental weapons like the Zwill Crossblade.

They are also weak to Warp.

If they linger around too long and Antlion reaches about 40% HP he'll eat them and level up.

It can disable you as well so wear a Black Belt if you got them.

Nice, worked on first try and couldn't get the other methods to work.

I won't really be using it except maybe if I ever have to grind trash for some reason, not that it would be a huge help with that anyway. I'm progressing the game slower than most.

I remember playing Revenant Wings a bit and then stopping because...there was something weird about the battle system wasnt there? Either it scaled the enemies or...something annoying

The first video worked for me. I got two Seitengrats back to back, and will probably get a 3rd just for crowd clearing in my three man team. I think having 6 of em for all six characters would be just overkill.

About to try for the 1 in 10,000 invisible chest bow. I've heard conflicting reports of what works and what doesn't. Anyone have success?

I think it's auto save on the deck. Load and wait 20 seconds. Go back in and out. Walk to chest and wait until the kid npc goes to his mom 4 times.

Look at the first video I quoted in the post above. I tried it once and it worked guaranteed on my very first try. I got two of them back to back.

I am going to go for my 3rd one now.

Unfortunately, the Archer's Magick Lores aren't the four that the Red Battlemage doesn't unlock on its own, so you're actually not getting anything extra. (Each Magick Lore is a unique Augment with a hidden number.)

Well an important thing to consider is actually who is getting Cúchulainn. Without Cúchulainn, Red Battlemage doesn't have access to -aga level spells, so make sure you don't have another character that will want him. (Shikari unlocks Protectga and Shellga) Since this is about Fran, her bow speed being a little slower than some of the other party members might be a consideration as well. (Though in the end this combo is basically just going to chain cast Ardor.)

I was actually trying to decide between these two combos for my Penelo and I ended up deciding on Black Mage / Red Battlemage. Since I have Cúchulainn going to another character I really wanted the versatility from the Black Mage.

All of Knight's White Magick is locked behind Mateus and Hashmal.

Well both unlocks give a healing spell, so splitting them up spreads some healing through the party.

However, it really depends on what their secondary jobs are and what you want the Knights to do. If one Knight is going to be using Genji Gloves (and probably Berserk) and one isn't, then you'd be best placing it on the second Knight.

Knight/Time Mage and a Bushi/Knight lol Ashe and Basch respectively.

So I just tried the cure method. It took me 50 minutes to get one of the 3 number combinations (97, 94, 95). When I hit start, square to go to the main menu, then loaded up the autosave where I was on the deck, there was no chest. Unsure what I did wrong.

So they truly did cut it. What the hell... that thing hits me hard everytime I watch it and I don't even have an attachment to the game (I played it up until the "I'm Captain Basch!" part a few years ago). Even then I felt something the first time I saw it.

Zeromus is such a pain, but at least you can use shades of black and motes help with the adds. Glad he's over and done with now.

Bushi + Uhlan actually gets you Holy Lance + White Robes anyway.

Bushi/Knight has some nice synergy, but when you start doubling up on classes that rely on Esper unlocks for spells like Knight, Monk, or Red Battlemage you lose a bit.

I just started the game and went to do the first hunt. I come back and the gates closed and Kytes says to come back in 184m 17s. I started to laugh my head off because I realized for some reason the game hadn't finished downloading...

However what I've played so far is amazing. I tried to replay the game last year but quit because of horrible IQ on modern displays. It was hurting my eyes. This is a godsend. AND OH OHHHH OHHHHH the new soundtrack is sublime!!

Oooof.. apparently it doesn't spawn on your first trip. PSA: Don't be a fool like me and try it on the first trip.

What causes party member lock? Is there an easy way to make it stop?

Sietengrat, first try. 88, 97, 90 came up without needing to even refill Rek's MP.

I think I'll leave it unequipped mostly :p

Hmm idk. I did 97, 94, 95 so maybe that doesn't work the first trip. Otherwise I have no idea why no chest popped up.

edit: Yes, 100% there is a 97, 94, 95 sequence that doesn't result in a chest. Just did it again and I got the same string of RNG as my previous attempt for about 40 minutes (I know it was the same because the only ones where I got 2 of the 3 were 88, 97, 89... 88, 97, 87... 97, 94, 88... and finally 97, 94, 95) No chest for this attempt either.

Big waste of about an hour and a half.

Got three Seintengrat with the Cure method. Finally a real 100% method that is not a farse, hopefully this guy make guides for Trango Tower and Gendarme.

Yeah.

I brought Reks past the save crystal so Basch left. Then went back and saved. Got Vaan on the flight from Rabanastre to Nalbina. Parked him on the deck. Quit to the dashboard. Loaded up the Reks save and got the 3 numbers. Pressed start -> square to quit to the main menu. Loaded the auto save. Ran up and no chest, twice now.

Since I got the same string of cures two attempts in a row, I just think that this particular 97, 94, 95 doesn't work. I must be past the point where the working sequences are.

It's especially frustrating because it seems like it has literally worked for everyone else.

I beat the game in 2006 and was somewhat disappointed with some of the conclusions but...I mean a FF sudoku puzzle was better put together than FFXIII.

FFXII wasn't perfect but my god does its shortcomings still manage to keep it hand and fist above XIII.

Man - so frustrated about this Seitengrat Bow. None of the posted methods have worked for me. I know about sunk cost but I'm having a hell of a time ignoring it.

It's the principle of the damn thing at this point.
