Tarot cards are really amazing at figuring out who's a sucker.

at figuring out who's a sucker.

Like it is insane to me that people actually believe that it is possible to divine anything from some stupid cards. I have a very hard time understanding how they can get their brains to believe it.

People who make money doing tarot card readings used to completely infuriate me. I mean the whole thing is a fraud and yet at the same time perfectly legal.

Then it hit me, I wasn't mad at them for scamming people, I was mad at myself for not being in on it. Somebody is probably going to take those idiots' money so it may as well be me.

I've ordered a few books on cold reading and some tarot cards to teach myself., hopefully it won't take too long.

Well, I'm not going to do I become a "psychic" though I kinda want to . Pesky conscience.

Divination is whatever but the traditional Hermetic philosophies and ideas they're based from are captivating.

Read my future op I just picked the card with the skeleton horse and a guy in all black riding it. Is that what I'm supposed to be for Halloween?

Ha look at those suckers playing with cards!

LMAO!

Hipocrisy aside, its mind blowing that people believe randomly shuffled cards tell the future

Yeah that shit is stupid but I'm not concerned about someone at a corny stand on the street trying to make a few bucks.

What's concerning are people like that idiotic fucking Long Island Medium raking in millions with her theatrics and bullshit, then patting herself on the back for "helping" people. Fucking lunatic and conartist.

If you are not big on fortune telling, you can just use the cards to play card games with. The tarot deck was created for a card game called tarot. It is a trick-taking game like hearts or spades. The fancy Major Arcana cards are trump cards in the game.

I actually kind of collect Tarot decks because I find them interesting, and I've read a few good treatise on using them in the same vein as rorschach blots. Beyond that, I find different artistic interpretations of the cards and their traditional meanings (depending on the tarot system the deck adheres to) rather interesting which is the main reason I own a number of decks.

Since this is Neogaf, one of my favorite decks I own is the Yoshitaka Amano Tarot:

The art is stunning, but it's a pip deck, meaning only the major arcana and the court cards have full illustrations. Also, the card stock is garbage, but it's still one of my favorites to flip through. I've been thinking of cutting mattes and frame them to hang on the wall since it's a smaller number of cards not having the pip cards illustrated.

Damn these own

Ive always loved the art and the story behind them. Anyone putting any more stock into it than that or as a way of picking early stand names is an idiot.

We've got a local psychic who comes into the store I work at every now and then. Got into a conversation about this with her at once point and about how she stays in business. Her response was quite literally just that there are a lot of desperate people out there. They want something other than themselves that they can look to for answers and that she doesn't really see any of it as a scam or anything since it "makes them feel better about how out of their own hands their lives are."

I freaking love tarot cards. The artwork is often amazing.

It's a cheap parlor trick, like horoscopes. It's fun, nothing more, nothing less.

at last, for christ's sake
my aunt earned thousands by reading tarots, like literally a couple tax free grand for half an hour of bollocks
