He does have 29 threads with Dino Crisis in the title
which is a higher number than the people interested on Dino Crisis in 2017 :p

And in the past I made over 20 threads commemorating various video game series' milestones, be it 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 year anniversary. Ish ain't a big deal long as you leave it be.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Note to self: Get through PSOne backlog someday...

As someone who has made more threads than most posters on GAF, I would agree it's not a big deal

Let people talk about what they want to talk about, you don't need to click on threads you have no interest in

There are so many Warhammer games on sale and most of them are ehhhh. I used to think more WH/WH40k would be good a few years back, but I definitely didn't anticipate a flood of clunky mobile ports.

Gamesworkshop opened the floodgates to absolutely everything, i hink that's both a blessing and a course.

It devalues the IP's attachement to individual videogames and ends with a good bunch of below average mobile devs reskinning their games, but it also means there can be more and more experiemental titles within that IP, especially from Indieves, which is good.

If i had to chose between an all controlling IP owner like Disney or the access for everyone policy of GamesWorkshop i'd definitelys take the latter.

Ok so after posting I was going to drop the game earlier, I decided to give the stupid tank mission in Valkyria Chronicles one more go, this time using a guide (which my gf read out to me since I hate playing games with a guide)

I managed to beat it, just

It's such a badly designed mission, I deviated from the really specific guide a few times and this resulted in death and needing to reload the save

Hopefully there is nothing as shitty as this mission left in the game?

Not that I recall. Thats easily the hardest mission in the game.

All y'all running your mouths about Dark Souls need to play Megaman X3. That stages and bosses in that game would challenge a Saint @_@

You made over 20 threads for each video game series? Sounds like quite hard to believe :p
Jawmuncher is more attached to Dino Crisis than the average gaffer, and that's fine.
You can make similar jokes about me and Hitman :p

what's a better comparison then

Honestly I don't know. It's kind of it's own thing. I mean, it's like Castlevania in that it takes place in a castle and there are bosses, but the similarities kind of end there.

Maybe they've played Lords of the Fallen lol.

... and credits have rolled and the game is done (sort of)

after my last setback i went to that mission with the idea of trying to split enemies up and get them individually and while i don't think i've quite figured out how to get them not to follow me, i've gotten past it and through the rest of the game with little difficulty

story was bad to the very end, but that's ok. it's not an insulting story, just not a very creative one, it's a mix of things you've seen elsewhere done better, and that's really bad, but at least you can skip it if you want, so that's already better than max payne 3

i've unlocked another school girl uniform to craft, so i probably have a little more to go before calling it quits, but it might be about time to move onto something else

are the other chapters more of the same? are they worth playing? do you get interesting weapons or new enemy types or a decent story?

Honestly I don't know. It's kind of it's own thing. I mean, it's like Castlevania in that it takes place in a castle and there are bosses, but the similarities kind of end there.
i disagree, both castlevania and dark souls are slow, methodical games about diligently exploring dungeons full of traps, monsters and designer dickery, and both reward caution more than recklesness

there's obviously degrees of difference to all of that, but it's the best example i can think of

Brandish?
not exactly talking to connoisseurs here, so probably not the greatest of references

i don't even know what that game is

Steam Cloud saves are so ubiquitous in indie games that I didn't even entertain the notion that Hyper Light Drifter wouldn't have them. I can't say I'll ever bother playing through most of the game again.

I haven't played the NES Castlevanias, but I can't say any of the ones released in like the last 20 years can be described as slow, not to mention all the platforming required. I maybe can see what you are getting at, but I think it would be a bit of a shock for a DS player expecting a castlevania experience.

I don't know if there are other popular games where you can easily die to any enemy if you're not paying attention.

oh yeah that might be true, whenever i think of castlevania my mind goes towards simon's quest and shit

i haven't played any other castlevania so i guess it's good to clarify that i mean nes castlevania games

Did you copy that special recovery code that it tells you to write down somewhere safe when you first set it up?

If you did you're fine. You can just move it that way. Google how to use recovery code to move phones.

If you don't have that code you brought all the pain on yourself lol.

I just finished Mega Man Zero 1 the other day, and while it can be pretty easy with upgrades, it's also a game that frames upgrades in the form of cyber elves that need to straight up die in order to acquire them, and you get docked in rank for using them as well. So the standard Mega Man fare of having sub tanks or health bar upgrades? Yeah, I hope you can either live with the guilt of killing cute innocent things for that or otherwise play through with a small health bar.

They all have their own little blurbs of dialogue too and some of them try to hide the cruel act happening underneath by saying "I can provide a little bit of vitality for you!" while another won't sugarcoat at all and say "Vitality for you, demise for me" and, Jesus, when did the Mega Man series get so dark.

Played through Chapter 5 of Shadow Warrior 2013, and man, I just couldn't get into it.

Sure, the combat is really fun and makes a good first impression, and the story is agreeably goofy, but: the controller inputs for the special abilities work maybe half the time; the encounter design is extremely repetitive; the game gates off combat areas without any visual indicator of where the gates are or that they're active, leading to one occasion when I stumbled around for 15 minutes before realizing that I hadn't picked off an enemy; scenery is frequently repeated; and most of all, the levels are fairly linear but frequently just maze-like enough that the lack of any sort of in-game map becomes frustrating, a problem exacerbated by the repetition in scenery.

I can confirm you can get the twitch prime box still for PUBG. It just popped up in my inventory.

Hmm I have Amazon Prime and enough money to get PUBG. Can I get it right now if I didn't redeem the code before?

Does it show on your twitch profile? I don't remember it I clicked it.

If there's anywhere you can check on your Twitch profile I don't know where it is. I only saw it. I only saw it at the Prime Loot button on the top of the screen and it doesn't show up there anymore since claiming it expired on Twitch.

Oh Zky, that's only the end of the original game's content. lol
The original God Eater was not released outside of Japan, however the enhanced version with added story was and that has it's own credits, and then the new content they added with Resurrection (which came out after God Eater 2 mind you) has it's own credits as well.

Got a new phone, transferred the Mobile App to the new one according to the instructions from Steam (without removing the old one), wanted to sell some cards, confirmed them on the mobile app, but now they are on hold because I should use the mobile app? What the fuck Steam?

Finished The House in Fata Morgana tonight; I've been slowing chipping away at it the past couple months. Not for lack of interest, mostly time, but the story kept me coming back. Then I hit Chapter
VII
last night.

1408.gif

I've tried to avoid reading anything story-specific in order to go in fresh, so did not expect how tragic and messed up it truly gets, downright depressing at times
Aimee -_-
But I'm glad I stuck with it and put it among my favorite VNs next to Steins;Gate and 999. I like that it dealt with themes that I've never experienced before in a game, uncomfortable as it can get. My only knocks against it is the very limited interaction between large sections of dialogue that can drag in certain chapters. It could have used some tidying up some of the longer scenes and closure on certain characters like
Maria
but overall a fantastic story and worth the time investment. My overall playtime came in at over 70 hours although it's closer to a 35-40 hour game, it took me as long as it did as I kept it on in the background to listen to the OST (absolutely fantastic) until I bought a separate copy.

Recommended for anyone interested in a unique and dark story; be prepared to read a lot, but the payoff is worth it. I will need to toss a review on Steam once I've had some more time to digest.

Bring on A Requiem For Innocence!

The Attack on Titan PC port is strange.

If I play the game in the first hour it runs totally smooth. The longer I play without restarting, the worse it gets. After around 2 hours it runs at 15-25fps. After I restart the game it runs well again...

Welcome to the magical world of Koei Tecmo ports. If only KT hired Durante to work on that instead of XSEED.

First I thought it was using my intel CPU as a GPU, because some people in the discussion boards wrote that thats the reason.

But its really that the first hour usually is smooth, then it gets worse from here. Sounds like a memory leak.

It got pretty good after Chapter 2 for me - I loved the Beast chapter. But it certainly ramps up with every chapter. Chapter 7 is amazing.

Steins; Gate is still the most amazing VN for me, but I enjoyed Fata Morgana a lot.

Anyone sitting on the fence, should give it a shot, especially when Steam Sales comes round, it's usually 25% off and is well worth it.

The only consistency of KT ports is their inconsistency.

well "post game" content is kinda like vacations compared to what came before. so far it's been lots of simple missions of killing just one big monster and almost no story, it's great

and also i kind of liked the bits of story they've shown so far (for god eater standards), so it's been pretty cool

still straight-lining the main missions, everything else seems pointless

i feel like being in a creative block and having my life stuck in limbo works really well with this game. i could do better things with my time but i don't have the energy or motivation to do anything but the minimum effort that this game asks of me

Oh Zky, that's only the end of the original game's content. lol

The Zero series are have the more darker story in the series. Heck the Eng. release censored a few stuff from the JP release (blood for one thing).
Zero 1 at least offered a Hard mode in the sense of NOT using upgrades/Cyber Elves. It is doable but it'll be a tough challenge no doubt :p
Now that I think about, Zero felt like he had 0 personality in the Zero games; he's just there be all quiet and brooding and just goes about taking out the enemy reploids etc.
