Nic Cage poses with Kazakhstan's First Lady in meme-worthy photo

Kazakhstan better keep a close eye on its 1991 declaration of independence — Nicolas Cage is in town.

The "National Treasure" star was pictured next to Kazakhstan's First Lady Sara Nazarbayeva wearing traditional garb and a far-off stare in a meme-worthy photo Sunday after he dropped by to attend the 13th Eurasia International Film Festival in the capital city of Astana.

The festival — which was founded in 1998, and has been held in Kazakhstan since 2010 — will also welcome John Malkovich, Adrien Brody and Bai Ling to town, according to The Astana Times.

Cage seems to be making the most of his time in the Asian country, attending a children's film competition within the festival called Five Continents alongside Astana mayor Asset Issekeshev, according to a Kazakh international news agency. Cage also met with disabled children at the event.
