Nic Cage poses with Kazakhstan's First Lady in meme-worthy photo

Nic Cage is the direct to DVD king. No way he's getting paid more than 1 million per movie these days.

I read an amazing article about the top paid actors back in the 90s, and there were some stats that I am probably misremembering, but Rutger Bauer and Christopher Lambert were among the highest paid male actors because they were knocking out these straight to video masterpieces one after another.

Wiki says his net worth is only 25 million. He must make an effort to spend all of his money. 1 or 2 movies should make him that much.

he was worth something like $150m but the guy is nutso and bought all sorts of weird shit

my favourite Nic Cage story is still the one from Sean Bean's reddit AMA

Q: Do you have anecdotes about your time filming National Treasure?

A: There was one where I went back to Nic Cage's house, and we'd had a few drinks, we were playing pool and he accidentally knocked over his prehistoric cave bear skull and smashed it. And he was really upset about it, and the next day went and buried it in a field.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I think Nic Cage should get another chance at playing Superman. You heard them DCCU, we know who is going to replace that lame Man of Steel in the upcoming Justice League.

Maybe Nic Cage is getting ready to star in an action flick alongside Steven Seagal?

Hopefully he's got some coke nearby and Werner Herzog is there to film the whole trip.
Bad Lieutenant: Kazakhstan could be the greatest movie ever made.

Werner Herzog was one of the few directors to get a legit performance out of Cage in like the last decade even if it was turning Cage up to 11 for a good part of the second half of the film.

Well deserved. His straight to video 'trash' was some of the best.

He should pay someone to prepare an awesome treatment for National Treasure 3. He can take that to the studio and make big bucks.

The last one was 10 years ago this December.

I would pay money to see another one in theaters. They're just plain fun.

Maybe Disney can have a National Treasure cross over with one of their other properties.
