Gunlance looks cool but the wyvernfire explosion should be bigger. (this goes for pretty much all explosions though, they look weak as fuck in this game).

The weapon might not be total garbage this time around.

Insect Glaive looks rad.
Hopefully the change how the kinsect and it's buffs work though, it got kind of annoying on longer hunts.

I bet Gun Lance is going to be just as terrible as ever.

I am very butthurt about the lack of any sort of meaningful change to the lance.

I think in the Japanese stream event the Lance user used a forward hop to close the gap between himself and the monster, Could be a game changer in terms of mobility which the weapon sorely needs IMO.

Ah yes, the Switch Axe, my weapon of choice.

Doesn't seem like they've changed it up much. Attacks seem a bit faster in this though.

One thing to note is that these videos don't show all the possible attacks. For example, the Hammer video doesn't show the aerial spinning wheel attack they showed off in the Japanese stream event.

I think you're right. Strange that it's present in that video and not, well, any of the cutting weapons.

The lack of hit markers across the board is still making everything look weaker than it should, and I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that they might be trying to push the particle effects for when the weapons hit the ground as a replacement. In which case, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Well, it seems that Capcom is still the king of combat animations. Their animators, especially those that work on the MH series, are insanely talented.

I've heard that GS is most used weapon in general

I wouldn't be surprised. It's easy to pick up, satisfying to use and has an insane skill ceiling.

EDIT: And yes, I've GS'd my way through all the 3DS titles. Looking forward to World (and XX if they ever end up localizing it)!

The sound effects and hit effects look pretty underwhelming. What's with the monster bleeding dirt and rocks, is there an earth element now or something?

Those MvC air dashes on Glaive, lol. The Je Suise Monte is going to be even worse in this game than MH4U.
 
^Blood effects are confirmed to be in the final game, they're just not in the demo (except the bow video lol).

The tele-dodge on that LS looks interesting, he also instantly used the anime jump from it. I wonder if that's a reward from iframe dodging.

Can't wait to see the full movesets. Gaijin Hunter, don't let us down.
