Frank Castle has been many things in his vigilante career, but he's never been given a Stark powered suit of armor. That looks like it is going to change.

During the Cup O' Joe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, a question was asked concerning Frank Castle's role in Legacy, specifically if he is going to taking on the War Machine armor. ComciBook.com was on hand when Marvel editor Nick Lowe erased any doubt.

"Frank Castle is absolutely putting on the War Machine armor, but we can't give any more details," said Lowe.

Marvel teased a possible mash-up of the two in a teaser cover from Legacy, but nothing else has been said about it until now. Frank Castle is currently working for Hydra leader Steve Rogers (even now that is still very weird to write), tracking down Black Widow and her Red Room group of heroes.

How he gets from his current role in Secret Empire to somewhere along the line putting on the War Machine armor is unknown. Also unknown is if Tony Stark is even aware of him taking the suit, as Stark is still comatose in his life pod and the A.I. version didn't fare too well either in Secret Empire #6.

Either way, it promises to be an entertaining if brutal roller coaster ride.

They stay trying to get this shit character into everyone else's boots.
I guess since they fucked around and had him play at being Cap for a while, why not dirty up War Machine while they're at it.

What makes Punisher great is that he doesn't need super powered armour suits or abilities, he just gets sh*t done with his soldier skills


Marvel is dead in terms of creativity

Actually, you know what? Next they should have Red Skull reveal he's an Avenger. "You hijack my organization? Fine, I'll hijack yours. Avengers assemble, bitch!"

The idea of the FUCKING PUNISHER working for Hydra is way more offensive than Captain America being a Hydra agent.

Wish the MAX imprint was still around, Punisher feels terribly out of place in the main Marvel universe at this point.

I don't get this

pretty much the whole idea of a Superhero is a fascist idea, all superheroes are essentially fascists if you really think about it

Punisher just doesn't BS around like the capes

Kill off a lacklustre character and give his very weaponized suit to the universes biggest gun nut vigilante.

This isn't about politics or race unless you make it.

Punisher is anything but a shit character when done right.

I don't see what could be interesting about making him War Machine though. It just seems like dumb overkill for the sake of it.

Ehhh.. I was once a big fan of The Punisher, not sure if I like this decission. On onehand, Frank Castle being War Machine is fitting, on the otherhand it messes up two characters at the same time.

This is going to end terribly, then again I haven't really liked a lot of Marvel comic runs in the last few years even though some of them were legitimately good. That's not to say DC is doing any better. LOL.

Huh, weird that the punisher is with hydra now.

I feel like this hydra stuff is building up to a really neat event though

Rhodey got done real dirty in civil war 2, but I don't see the harm with punisher snatching his suit. It'll probably be temporary.

Him acting so far out of character is the most bizarre thing. He wouldn't Hail Hydra, he wouldn't wear War Machine he does his own

Maybe there will be a good twist about it, but this is a bad move from the outside.

Also I loathe that shitbags have co-opted a character who has long been an obviously unstable and extremist character that virtually none of the Marvel heroes like as some sort of pro-violence hero.
