[EU PSN] New "Games under €20" sale

Do the Prototype games still run like crap or can boost mode make them run decently?

13 quid for both is actually not a bad price considering it's Activision.

tempted by elite dangerous. is the game worth picking up without the season pass additions?

It's essentially the same game with or without, but you lose (amongst a few other things) planetary landings and the (grindy) engineers if you don't get the additions

Dammit, I thought Lego City Undercover was also under €20. Would have definitely bought it at that price but the sale price is £29.99 in the UK.

Is Lego Worlds worth paying £17.49 for?

Never played a Hitman game before but don't think I have space for the HD trilogy on PS3, if I could get just one, which would you say is the best?

Also anything worth picking up on Vita from this sale?

From the HD remakes, I'd go with Blood Money - that's the one a lot of people consider to be the best, and for good reason. Although if you have a PS4, I'd recommend the newest Hitman game instead. It's incredible how good that game is.

Tempted to get Nex Machina for £9.90

Do it. It's one of the best games I've played this year. Everyone even remotely interested in twin stick shooters, or even shmups in general, should buy it at this price.

Boo, none of the PSP LEGO games are on sale.

Buuuutttt.... not listed here, but the PSP & PS1 Tomb Raider games are discounted. Which is great.

would you recommend starting out with the base game as a test and get the season pass at a later date if i enjoy it? if it's like no mans sky where the recent updates have changed the game substantially to the point where it's hard to recommend starting the game without them, i'd rather spend more for a better early game experience. but if that isn't the case, i'll just get the base game for less and upgrade later if i like it. i hear people give up in the tutorial, so there is a very real prospect that i won't have the patience for it. lol

What do people consider to be the best LEGO game on PS4? I've got some unused credit in my wallet that I wouldn't mind throwing at that.

the movie game has the most consistent lego stylings which i prefer visually (everything is made of lego) plus i prefer the humour

but personally i liked the marvel superheroes lego game and lego city the most in terms of content and gameplay. batman was good too.

I know the performance wasn't fixed but is it worth paying the extra for the add-on content for XCOM 2?

Also tempted by Elite but might have to watch the tutorial on YT first...may be a bit too grindy for me.

How are Prototype 1 and 2 on PS4? I quiet liked the first one back in 2009 on PC, but I did not here good things of the PS4 versions. The first one seems to have massive perfomance issues. Did they patch the games? How will the PS4 Pro help with the framerate issues?

EDIT: And did Yooka-Laylee get a pro patch already?

Hmmm. Yooka-Laylee for £16.

Sorely tempted despite the less than stellar reception. I love a good 3D platformer.

Also surprised Elite Dangerous has dropped so quickly.

edit: also, also how is Little Nightmares? Been waiting for a price drop.

Want to know this as well. About performance, on base ps4, how does it compare to xcom enemy unknown on ps3? Because I played that and didn't die because of it, in fact I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Current DLC's for XCOM 2 are quite small. Shen's Last Gift is one long mission plus SPARK (mech) units which you can use during other missions (they help out a lot). Alien Hunters give you four extra missions, three alien rulers (bosses) to kill and the possibility of crafting better gear thanks to them. I'm currently on my new playthrough of the game and I am enjoying the DLC content. It's definitely not worth the full price, but on a sale - sure.

As for performance on the base PS4, it's still pretty bad at times, but it doesn't bother me that much since everything is turn-based. The only thing that's annoying is that the audio can cut out for a brief moment during certain cutscenes.

These sales are going to be the death of me. Nex Machina is a steal at under a tenner.

Little Nightmares too!

RIP my wallet. Hello bigger backlog.

I'll pass on this sale. Sony has my money anyway cause of the 15 months of ps+ for the price of 12. Can't wait to grab Cities Skyline when it lands in "Games under 20 euros" in 2-3 months though.

E: After taking a closer look at discounted titles I might grab Nex Machina.

Thanks!

Nos to decide between this and this:

£6.49 for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.

That's the cheapest it's been for people who don't have PS+.

How does the ps4 version compare to the pc one? My pc is significantly less powerful than ps4 (E8400 and 7770).

Was going to buy Matterfall but Marvel Alliance being a decent price has swayed me. Only ever played the first one so it'll be nice to try out 2.

Anyone here played Silence? It doesn't have an OT but I'm sure someone made a topic recommending it a few months ago comparing it to Telltale or Lucasarts games, but I know it didn't have 'Silence' in the title & I can't find it now.

Would anyone recommend Get Even?

I seem to remember reading about it in EDGE a few month's back and it sounded quite interesting, particularly from a sound design perspective.

At £15 I might just jump in.

Any good for a single player? I am looking a good RPG for years (console) and I haven't really found anything that scratches the Baldurs Gate / NWN itch for me. I am a pretty casual player, was looking at Torment, but could be swayed to save some money :)

yes, it's great single or co-op. you just control more or less of your party. it's a great game though. doesn't hold your hand either. tons of content, great characters and stories and everything voice acted. combat is really good too with lots of dynamic elements that keep you on your toes.

Yes it's a good game if you don't mind that the combat mechanics are really bad (even with the addition of the quite innovative cornergun).

Damn that's a lot of games, and DS2 is still on my wishlist... Argh

Tempted by Nex Machina as well. Played Alienation recently and it massively surpassed my expectations

Nex Machina for that price is an absolute steal - brilliant game, addictive as heck, the embodiment of "one more level".

Cheers mate, picked it up, needed to put money in my e-wallet for Absolver anyway :)

I would like some opinions on Nioh and Gravity Rush 2.

How is Nioh compared to Soulsborne games? I have played Dark Souls series on my PC and soon will beat Bloodborne so I need something to fill the void.

How better is GR2 compared to 1? I was rather underwhelmed by GR1, primarily because of the rather bland early story and sidequests, up until the bossfight
against the crystal thief.

I know that there are tons of reviews for these 2 games but I would like to hear GAF's testimonies.

Nioh has legit good gameplay for sure, and enough build variety for me. Landscape and enemy are not varied enough though, especially enemies. I didn't have a problem with level design but open interconnected maps are exclusive to soulsborne.

I got Nioh at launch full price and for sure didn't regret it. Now it's cheaper and has some qol improvements. Go for it. I find it hard to go back to souls gameplay after the speed and stances on Nioh. It's not the better overall game though. That's Bloodborne to me, probably.

Huh, didn't expect combat to be a weak point. I might still check it out though. A cornergun sounds great!

Thanks for the heads up.
