Street Fighter V |OTVIIII| New Generation - Fighting Game Is Something So Great

To the guy asking who to learn, the only wrong answer is learning someone you don't want to play as. If you're new to the game don't worry about tiers or any of that stuff. Just play whoever you find fun

I was more so asking which are the most well-rounded characters that can help learn the nuances of the game, rather than jumping into a very complex character which I think I already did lol.

If you want a top tier character who has a bit of everything, go with Necalli.

I just started learning Menat for the last few hours and honestly, I found some stuff but i'm still having a hard time since it's day 1. She seems pretty solid.

I'm pretty certain she's going to be a struggle character.

NL's Cammy was looking godlike but Poongko brought it back with the Kolin. This battle of the blondes is pretty great.

Poongko couldn't seal the deal at the end of the day. Shame cuz that last round he was so close to stunning his opponent for the win...

What's Desk's background? Does he play in tournaments?

Everyone knows Desk but I know nothing about him. He's like an FGC Q?

I remember he was interviewed on an old (SRK?) podcast. He's a musician that is incredibly adept at execution but doesn't consider himself to be a competent tournament player.

IMO he'd be a great game tester as a side gig since he seems to find glitches so fast.

I think you're right. I wanted to try something new and started out with Necalli and Ryu and it was so painful that I gave up after the first month or so all the way until Abigail came out.

Now I've about doubled my playtime, got out of bronze, and finally landed a V-trigger back HP, HP x 2 combo.

Hey guys, quick question, how important is input lag? I'm repicking up the game and in the interim I've aquired a 55" 4k tv. Still got my 1080p 40", would it be worth it to switch while playing this game?

I honestly can't tell any lag with the 4k, but I've always heard its horrendous with them. Is this just something only diago level people will notice?

Input lag is very very very important in fighting games. Unless your reactions are so shot you can't even block a fireball, having as low input lag as possible is always the way to go. I always play FGs on my monitor, can't even imagine playing them on a TV.

Though this is of course assuming that your TV has the standard TV levels of insanely high input lag.

menat's jpn vo is almost as bad as cammy's.

Cammy's engrish is the worst thing to happen to both sf4 and sf5.
SFV Cammy's JP voice is great, gtfoh. It's just that her EN voice is even better. The way it got deeper between IV and V is really cool because it kinda represents a coming of age for the character (even though nothing of that sort really happened in-game).

If we wanna talk about bad voices, let's get to EN Juri.

Really? Juri's English voice-actor is amazing, IMO. Her performance matches the character perfectly.

Agreed, matches her personality and performance perfectly. She's so strange in the best way.

I'm sure it's great if you're a fan of mutilated words shooting out of someone's mouth.
That's different than the VA. You have a problem with the script, not the voice itself.

Her EN VA sounds like a drunk teenager.

And somehow it's gotten worse since SFIV, which is odd because it was somewhat bearable in SFxT.

I'm sure all these scripts spanning all jpn vo work ever have bad english in them.

Miyuki Sawashiro: why does this say SPIWAH AWAOH?? isn't it spiral arrow?
writer: lolno, everyone knows that's correct, just like "FOOL POWAH".
Shintaro Asanuma: sou desu ne..

Labbed Menat for a few minutes, haven't had time to watch vids. Can she recall her globe-thingy even while being hit? That's nuts if so.

Ggs man
@killu4what

Bison vs. Ken is all about who establishes there dominance first. It's similar to the Laura match in that a good defense is really a strong offense. You basically let me get you in the corner way too often and bison doesn't have any wakeup tools since his buttons are so strong. You have to plan to NOT get into the corner, not try to figure out what I'm gonna do every time your there.

Lag is important. At the very least try to look up your two tvs on the display lag database (google it). 4K tvs aren't necessarily awful and 1080p tvs aren't necessarily good.

And remember when you're googling that input lag is different from response time. You care about input lag.
