PES 2018 Demo Impression

Loving it to be honest. Feels like 2017 but even more refined. I've out like 70+ hours into 2017 in a few weeks during the summer since I've got it on PC. Can't wait to pick this up day 1 on PC.

Heh I've had the CPU dive three times on me now. Twice were me trying to take out an attacker with my last man. They were through on goal and went down. Funny. All three called and yellow cards for the divers.

Happened to me once, at first I was like "WTF!? I never touched him" Then when I realised they'd been booked...

It was so tense. I know it was in last year's game but the cpu never did it. For one I was playing against Brazil and I was 1-0 up going into a tense last 20. Dived in on Firmino and he went down. I was heartbroken cause I timed it right, he just moved a little to the right last second and went down. Ref blew and I was thinking oh no here we go.

PES is getting better each year, the last FIFA i have is 16.

Maybe not day one, but i'm buying it for sure.

I like that they added "Take off shirt [YELLOW CARD]" as a celebration option.
I think there'll be a lot of that in online games!

It seems a bit easier than before on the mid-difficulty, though that might be because I played the demo as Barca while my 2017 ML team is not that good.

At last I played PES2017 with friends after months, then tried the demo just after that. Looked the same to me, I can skip it.

Tried Fifa too... I actually prefer how PES is managed, not a FIFA fan anymore...

Only thing I don't like is how it makes my PS4 sound like it's going to take off. Thankfully I'll be grabbing it on PC.

The ball is heavier in this to me. Bit slower than 17, but pace is more important.

I really hope there's no bait and switch and they give us PS360 graphics again. I could deal with it in 2017 but I really want the full thing this year. Also wondering how long it'll be till we have a good option file

Well they have NVIDIA Ansel support etc, so that's a great sign

and probably like 10 minutes haha

Has anyone noticed ghosting around players in the replays?

Also why is there four shadows at the bottom of each player lol. Hope shadows are better on PC.

Not digging this demo yet enjoyed the beta. I've bought PES the last few years now but may skip this one, feels a bit too fast for me and too easy to score. It's been a long long time since I bought Fifa, will play the demo for that before I make my mind up but right now I think I'm going back to Fifa just for something a little different.

Can someone tell me how the FIFA vs PES thing is playing out right now? Just a quick rundown of graphics and gameplay?

FIFA probably has PES beat in graphics, and it has more game modes.

I'd argue PES is more realistic/has better gameplay though

PES is all but more realistic now. It's becoming more and more arcade every year. The demo shows a lot of space and easy ping pong passing from both player and CPU.

I've decided not to try the demo cause the final product always seems to feel fairly bit different. Hopefully they nerf the headers from 2017. Hate to defend against people who only try to score from crosses cause it's so effective.

Oh if the PC version is good I may pick it up. It doesn't cost much at all. And I did enjoy the last game.

Really enjoyed the demo. The last time I looked into it, it was really hard to get option files on the xbone. Has this changed at all recently? Would love to be able to play with authentic kits etc.

Still not possible. Microsoft is rather paranoid when it comes to USB sticks and individual content.

Hows the online in this series these days ?, i dropped pes afew years back after 2 titles in a row were pretty much unplayable online due to lag and poor connection strength even months after launch. have Konami sorted the online out yet ?

I absolutely loved the beta but have exactly the same feelings on the demo you have. Hopefully the full game is more like the beta.

It's more realistic than Fifa. The ability to actually use midfield is enough for that

We see this in real life though

FIFAs problem is you get no space ever, constant pressing by the AI

Theres no midfield either, and every AI team plays the exact same way

Offline it isnt even close
