Well no, that's not accurate. Leaving aside the fact that Camus isn't that great of a unit, we've gotten the Black Knight (who easily ranks among one of the best units in the game), Arvis (who while not being particularly amazing still has a bunch of valuable skills), and the aforementioned CYL/Xander. Our expectations were high because of the standard IS set. This is a pretty blatant betrayal of trust, and the worst part is that Arden is shaping up to be a phenomenal unit on his own, so it's not like we're getting another Tobin.

He's a solid unit, but nowhere near impressive enough to deserve the hype he has from the fandom. He did potentially get a lot better with the new Seals I guess.
That so called popularity didn't translate into CYL at all. Both versions of Nephenee scored higher than any Genealogy unit. And the should't be based only for what is popular in Japan

I'm salty too. Not because I wanted her as a free unit but because IS put her in another banner with older units and one of those being red as well. That's cheap money grab.
They could put her in the Holy Wars banner but no, they had to do this shitty way. The worst part is that this could be a new trend of new unit releases if enough people support it by spending orbs in it...

I guess people forgot about the Ike/Hero Fest 1 bait so they needed something to remind them what kind of game they were playing. But yeah, leaving Ayra out of a 3-unit banner was nasty. Thankfully I managed to get Sigurd and he should be a great autobattler.
Regardless of how OP she is I do not need more swords so I won't be rolling. I still would like to upgrade my Eldigan to a better boon/bane but I barely use horse emblem these days. I suppose I could make a +8 Cecilia and revive them though.

Hopefully Hero fest should be Ayra,Nephenee, Amelia and Innes.

I can see my use of the word 'never' followed by specifying exceptions was a bad choice for getting my point across. The key point I was trying to make is that free units are usually not incredibly powerful in games like this and while Fire Emblem Heroes has been generous enough to give us a few exceptions, people shouldn't have just assumed like they did with Ayra, particularly when there were a few signs pointing to it not being the case.
Looking at the unique free units we've gotten so far across all game modes (in no particular order):
Narcian
Navarre
Michalis
Ursula
Female Robin
Clarisse
Zephiel
Xander
Lloyd
Camus
Legion
Berkut
Valter
Arvis
Marth (Masked)
Tobin
Clive
Black Knight
While I'm not disagreeing with people saying what IS has done here is shady, saying they've set a standard of giving us great units is wrong. Out of all of these units only Black Knight and Xander can really be considered truly great. (I thought Camus was really good when he released because the horse meta was thriving and he had distant counter, but outside of that environment I agree he's not as good as a standalone)
Ayra should've just been on the Genealogy banner with the other 3 heroes since splitting the red focus chance between her and Sigurd is way more acceptable than splitting it with Eldigan on a trash banner.
Great for those of us who managed to not pull any of the new fe4 units. =/
Guess I'll probably have to put a bit more effort in than auto battling one of the slightly lower difficulty ones.
Zephiel is also great when it come out though as also Marth(Masked) which is essentially free Lucina.
Considering this gacha game, i would said it is quite nice already.
CYL votes were a complete joke, because the western fanbase is a joke. Caeda not being in the top ten females should never have happened.
Heroes makes most of its money from Japan. Whales matter more than f2ps, its how the business model works. The average is whale in their mid 30s/40s, hence why Jugdral was always a prime target for them. In addition, the game was flailing in revenue they needed the power creep, its what makes people whale.
Its completely scummy how they did this and I was 100% against ayra getting a PRF sword thats is better than 99% of the legendaries in the game, but they had logic in this.
There was a definite shift in though process with CYL heroes, all the banners after that have some power creep in some form, revenue was definitely flailing before that especially compared to its competitors.
Also, I guess it might have started with Valter, he got a powercrept weapon compared to something like Berkut's lance.

And Heroes sometimes ranks better in US than Japan. So it isn't like the game is only making money of japanese fans.
The leak is Masked Marth talking with him about Julia going mad, and his parents coming in to help. But Lachesis is more imporant I guess.
But there are 4 banner heroes and only room for 4 40% characters...

This was before we knew Ayra wasn't F2P, which is why they're sad.
Ayra dropping to the 4 star pool might actually be the best case scenario.
Doubly so if she has Swift Sparrow at 4 stars.
Not holding my breath on either though.

I've sunk now about 180 orbs into attempting to get POlivia and Lucius broke my rate...Ayra was going to be the anti-salt...

Ayra is a trap unit in that she's still a red melee sword (which sucks). Its just she's so much better than other myrmidons (asides from Ryoma), and you can't pass her skills to them, it is really unfair to them.
Western fans thinking that the series started with the seventh game in the series is a huge pet peeve of mine.
Ayra with DC should be as good as fury Ryouma/Ike tho. The problem is that she can't run Steady Breath.
But it did for the west. You can't blame western fans for that.

Who cares about Arden? My motivation for the coming TT will be super low.
He actually got third on the popular vote for genealogy. But the other thing is they seem to be adding alot of sacred coins into the rewards.

More of the TT units have been mediocre than not. Don't let the black knight trick you in to thinking they'll always be good or popular units.

Arden is a good unit (his stat spread and pursuit ring is nuts), he's just not an attractive unit.

Alright, it will be ok. I have made do with worse attack before (still use -Atk Eirika). Ill just put my summoner support on her and use the Atk +3 Seal I already crafted. Itll be fine.....right?

I think I'm just about done trying to pull for P.Olivia. I have too many Lachesis, Lissas and Serras. I should just take the L and stop.
On the plus side, the free pull for the Ayra banner got me... 5* M.Corrin? I guess he can be okay as another red sword for AA.
