People keeping their phones in their back pocket

Where else would it go? It comes out when I sit down, but for walking? can't go in the front, not gonna hold it, etc.

you take it out and just hold it before sitting down and just hold it the whole time? what?
point of pockets is to put it in there and forget about it til you need it

I've put my phone in my back pocket a few times, it's usually followed by me doing a few laps around the house looking for my phone.

iPhone 6 Plus is too big for my front pockets, so it goes in my back pocket. Wallet and keys in front pockets. I take it out before I sit down. If I'm wearing a jacket, I keep it in my jacket. It's not difficult.

I've seen women mostly do this , not usually men.

It's because they have no front pockets

True

I'm a guy, and I do it because I keep my wallet and phone in my front pocket (fuck sitting on a wallet). I only pop it back there when I'm walking and intend to access my phone, because I hate sliding it out of my tight pockets.

Guilty of it a few times but ive never broken a phone because of it. Just dialed some people by mistake at worst.

The iPhone 7 Plus is inconveniently big for most of my front pockets so I usually hold it. When I have coffee or whatever, I’ll put it in my back pocket.

I try not to put anything valuable in the back pocket unless I have to.

I'm under the impression that it's easier to pickpocket someone's back pocket.

I also keep my phone in my back pocket. Wallet and keys are in the front pockets. I just take out my phone when i sit down in the office. Not a big deal really. I've never had any of my phones break or glass shatter.

I used to carry a handbag around (colloquially, "man purse") and my phone had a dedicated pocket in said bag. I primarily carried that bag around because of 3DS Streetpass, but with that all but dried up, the bag doesn't really come out with me much anymore. My front pockets are generally tied up with my keys and wallet, so back pocket it is.

My girlfriend did this when I went to a local food festival, I told her she was stupid and I would put in my pocket as it was too easy to steal with poking out of her back pocket.

It would be extreamly painful...
I don't get keeping anything thicker than a piece of paper in the back pocket, especially items that are valuable or in any way delicate (ie unable to withstand the weight of someone sitting on them).

My friend keeps his wallet in a back pocket and every time he sits down he has to take it out of his pocket. What the fuck.

Never ever keep my phone in any pocket other than my jacket.

Only thing feeling my cheeks is my wallet.

Ain't about that risky life.

None of the things I keep in my pockets (keys, wallet, phone) meet that criteria. My wallet and keys rarely leave the pockets so they go in the pockets I can leave alone when sitting down. The phone gets put in the back pocket sometimes, but when seated it gets taken out and put on a table or something. I use it often enough that it works out.

I have lost/had things drop out of jacket pockets all the time. I've also had several jackets stolen. I would never keep anything valuable in there.

I've always carried my phone in my back pocket. Looks bad in the front. I take it out before I sit down or sometimes I don't but it's always fine.

I wear skinny jeans, and the large phones I've had (iPhone Plus and a Pixel XL) don't really fit in my front pockets. I was a back-pocket person from day 1 of having a large phone and have never looked back, quite frankly. The ease of taking it out from my pocket is similar to my wallet. Phone is on the left, wallet on the right. If I get a notification, my butt will get the vibration. I then shift my weight slightly and am able easily slink the phone out of the pocket to get a glance. Having my phone in my front pocket, though, would not be so easy - especially with tighter pants. Additionally, the outline of my phone in my front pocket is ridiculous. If my keys are noticeable, I can't imagine living with a huge phone outline on my front side.

the hot women I gawk at are too trim to break a phone with their weight.

Plus, having a phone there gives me an excuse to stare there.

“Babe wtf you’re just staring at her ass!”
“Nah I was just checking her phone out. I think that’s an Edge”

Tragedy averted 😎
Don't give it away!

there is joy in sucking dick
I wear tight enough jeans where my left buttcheek will alert me to any possible acts of theft

Plus it feels better in the back than the front

I don't have cargo pants so wallet in the front right, keys in the front left and phone in the back right. When i go to sit i simply pull it out.

Also, have you ever sat on your phone? It's incredibly fucking hard to break that unless you jump off a fucking roof and land on your ass. Never had my phone stolen and never broke when i sat on it the first few times until i learned not to do it. And if someone wants to steal your phone and knows how to pick pocket they are gonna grab it from your front or back.

Back pocketer here, it just works better. Plus my front pockets usually have all sorts of stuff in them so I’d rather not mix my phone in with my keys or whatever I’ve got on me.

I sit on my phone all the time without a case. It’s never broken from it. Granted I’m like 150 pounds, but yeah, never even slightly felt like I might break it.

I am a male

I put my phone in my back pocket

Looks and feels dumb in any pocket, but works best in back pocket

I'm a male (apparently an important distinction) back-pocketter. I have an Otterbox on my iPhone, it's gigantic and doesn't really fit comfortably in my front pockets (I also wear skinnier jeans), which are home to my keys and my lip balm/ear buds. Since I have an Ottorbox, my phone has never been broken by laying my squishy ass upon it. I usually just leave it in there when I sit, but for harder chairs I'll usually take it out as it gets uncomfortable. I've never been particularly concerned someone is going to steal it since it clings to my ass cheek so tightly I'd feel it disappear immediately; it definitely is more visible and accessible in my front pocket anyway.

I'm a man and I always keep my phone and wallet in my back pockets. I never ever sit on them. I don't like the crease it leaves in my front pockets. I wear skinny jeans. Never has my phone stolen. In the Philippines and busy subways I will put it in my front pocket, though

Front pockets only man.

Back pockets is for couples to place their hands into and walk together........j/k that's annoying to see. Yes, I've seen people do that.

I've seen dudes do this too. I used to keep my wallet in my back pocket but I got tired of replacing my cracked/split debit cards so its all front now.

I'm a right handed dude. My load out:

  • Keys front left.
  • Wallet front right.
  • Phone back left.
  • Miscellaneous back right.

When I sit down the phone is taken out and placed on the table. If I have a jacket with an inside pocket it goes in there instead.

Wallet and phone in each back pocket. Not sure why I'd sit on my phone. They can be removed and moved.

My jeans actually have pockets large enough to hold my phone when I just need to put it somewhere for a few seconds. But generally I have my phone in a case which has a hole for a strap, so I have it on my wrist a lot of the time.

If I need my hands completely free and there's nowhere to hang it, I stick it in my bra.

I work at an AT&T store and had a large, angry customer tell me he would never buy a Samsung product again after going through two Galaxy Note 3 replacements. He kept the Notes (fairly large phones, mind you) in his back pocket and they'd crack when he'd sit down.

I'll put whatever item in whatever pocket is empty at the moment. Phone, wallet, keys and anything else are switching pockets all the time.

Most of my jackets have zips, can be closed or are deep enough to make it secure. Never had an issue losing anything IMO.

Losing jacket part is a good point, but I make sure to be aware of my shit at all times.

Why? I mean, you sit down and boom your phone is broken and it's so easy to steal.

Sorry for the rant.

I should think so too. I needed a sit down and a stiff drink after reading that.

Also, I would have thought it would be harder to steal my phone if I was sat on it.

Also also, why would someone steal a broken phone?

Anyway, I use whatever pocket is empty, when I can be bothered to take it with me that is.

Always put my phone in my back pocket, but I take it out before I sit at my desk. If I'm not at work, it's usually sitting somewhere and nowhere near my pockets.

Front pockets are for keys/other misc. items, don't want to scratch my shit.
