Agree. But it is an interesting question. If you were going to try to do this, I'd think you'd want to compare AMD to AMD first of all.

Notes:
- I manually adjusted the GPU to its list price of $379. Actual price is $589
- CPU was hardest to match as there is no 8 core Zen 2 CPU under 4 GHz that I am aware of except the 5800G
- I went ultra-cheap on the PSU, case, CPU cooler. Literally picked the cheapest on the list.
- Motherboard has to be X570 to support PCIe 4.0
-If we wanted to be really nitpick then it could be pointed out there is no OS, keyboard, mouse, or controller, but I think this makes the point
So $1150 for something comparable to XSX and PS5. Even if we left out the case and PSU, we are still over $1000.
This shouldn't be a surprise though. All these parts are sold for profit. Consoles are not. They are subsidized by their ecosystem.
