Was getting owned laning against Puppet / Kraken as Sand Wraith (me) / Myrm.

Basically thought the game was fucked. I started to get some kills and snowball ... got my mock and I had a pro buyback Quad kill ult at the end to force the concede.

Sand Wraith is disgusting at taking damage.

Ra is... versatile? He's one of the worst heroes in the game right now.

And yes, MoA is bad at plenty of things. For one, his test game win percentage is probably amongst the lowest. Second, "jack of all trades, master of none".

And honestly, I don't see why so many people would want an Invoker port but still make complaints like how some of our heroes have "everything" (when they don't). He's also not a complicated hero to play at all. He's Flint Beastwood easy.

Sorry, I wasn't being very clear. I was mostly referring to how Ra's meteor skill in particular has so many things going on at once in it. Move speed buff, ledge walking, stun at the end, gains hp back based on number of heroes hit; just packing a whole bunch of stuff into one skill. In MoA's case, a whole bunch of stuff into all of his skills. I'm not saying that I want single target no-stun set-damage nukes for everyone, but it can sometimes feel a little over-designed. Here it is probably just a case of the hero spotlight making him look REALLY good (as they often do).

Probably a poor comparison on my part, I admit.

What did you mean by "jack of all trades, master of none"? His skills look like they hold up pretty well compared to other heroes, unless they don't scale very much?

I don't think I'll ever really get the hang of this game. I hope Diablo 3's PvP is fun and has as many interesting skills as these guys though.

The amount of spell combinations was in the billions wasn't it...?

The best way is to watch replays. Like watch my mid tundra or soulstealer.

He MIGHT be slightly too strong at first only because of his stun. I wouldn't pick him above a Flint though.

Had such a hilarious game yesterday. I played Pebbles in a nymph/peb lane and we went up against a solo Flint. As soon as Nymph gained lvl 6 we started teleporting behind the tower, killing Flint every time. I think we'd killed him 5-6 times before the 15th minute. Dude just kept coming back. :D

If HoN going F2P means we get 2 heroes instead of 1 bi-weekly I'm all for it, even if some of them are early access. More heroes, more fun.

This comparison unsettles me.
How so? I simply don't want Diablo 3's skill builds to be nothing but simple damage spells, minion summons, heals and teleports. The gameplay video we saw a couple weeks ago was pretty boring in that regard.

You don't see stuff like Andromeda's ultimate, Bubbles, Myrmidon, etc. varied and conditional skills in many other games.

What I find interesting about these kinds of games is a team's skill combinations. Even though Blizzard, thankfully won't take D3 PvP very seriously, I hope they at least have a little depth in how you build your character, and allow you to have cool skill shots, or conditional abilities, or non-complete lockdown CC like Puppeteer's Hold in the game. Heck, I think most RPGs could do well to learn a little from DOTA games and Guild Wars on how to build characters and abilities.

Aren't almost all of the skills in D2 skill shots? I'm not too worried

Disco Inferno: Lays down a dance floor of groovetacular moves. Allies standing still in the dance floor will heal 10/20/30/40 Health per second, while enemies standing still in the dance floor suffer 20/40/60/80 Magic Damage per second. The effect lingers for .5 seconds after the target begins to move.

Rhapsody has some odd skill names but seems pretty cool. The standing-still on the dance floor seems kinda meh though.

Master at Arms seems to be like old Fayde (with the toggled stances affecting all her other skills).

I played DotA today for like the first time in 5 years, was pretty funny playing it after so much HoN. Seeing all the limitations from War3 was pretty funny, there's like 8 different shops when you spawn :lol

The Rhapsody model looks great, I'd prefer something a little less angry and dark but hopefully the inevitable alt avatar is a little lighter, maybe a male shredder with an axe.

The stun lock is intriguing and she seems like a great support hero that can possibly gank, which i always love in heroes :). The other skills make her seem straight out of Ragnarok Online honestly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm concerned that her ulti is too strong since it grants massive armor instead of invulnerability. I'd prefer all allies were immune to physical and magical instead so that auto attacks and targeted skills would naturally funnel towards the channeling hero instead of being wasted on the allies. Does it take effect as soon as you hit R? Sounds pretty imba so hopefully the mana costs and/or range aren't out of this world.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Getting an angry Sona vibe from Rhapsody. Will try her out, seems neat.

Not so crazy about her after the spotlight. Just seems kinda "meh."

So I just woke up.

Why did I wake up?

Because I dreamt you guys were trolling me in HoN. And I'm already raging inside despite the fact it didn't really happen.

Haha don't let HON get to you. I have fun even playing heroes out of my comfort zone and getting piled on in IHs, it's no biggie. Save your rage for when someone cuts you in traffic or kicks your dog.

I'm going to try this game. All my friends are starting to go on holiday, and I can't stand playing LoL with random people. It might serve as a training for Dota2, or at least now I will be able to compare the 3 games properly. Wish me luck, gaf!

Training?

More like harsh boot camp under the direction of a sadistic, psychopath officer.

Tried this a couple of times today and I have no idea how the items work. The UI is quite horrendous to be honest.

I like the presentation besides that. Shame I can't use all heroes from the get go.
