Some heroes heavily depend on their auto-attack to deal their damage though. Can't really do that when moving, while your team is free to do that without any penalties.
I dunno. It's really difficult to deal with it as she's using it to push towers as well. Works really well with creeps.

I saw this in the dota2 thread and thought I'd post it here. Is this sentiment a real thing? Never heard of it before.

Nah but seriously I think a portion of the sentiment stems from the TF2 community, where a lot of people dislike the cosmetic effects and such that hats and co. brought forth and prefer to play a more 'vanilla' experience.

Also I need to figure out how to get a higher GPM...seems like laning cannot get you above 200 GPM. I guess roaming is what bring you to 300 +?

On a typical side lane doing work im capping around 220-250 GPM. (or close to) ganking will help this easily, or being a good forester will help too.

Which I assume is short for "That Guesong man, look at him taking every jab seriously and make a big fuzz even when it's not meant to be".
But I'm now salt-free now that I play almost exclusively with STR heroes. Much better.

To get higher you have to rapidly kill creeps in the lane until it's pushed up and then rotate to the jungle, which is hopefully stacked, or to another lane if you have post haste/teleport. Not getting killed helps immensely, and teleporting to assist in ganks/counterganks to net you assists, kills, and experience is what pushes you far ahead. But honestly I'm not that good of a ricer.

As a carry if you can passively farm 300 GPM in a lane, then you are doing very well. This requires getting more than 80% of your last hit though.
As long as you spend your gold before you die, you will still have decent items. To get over 300 GPM you need to control your lane / last hit towers / double stack jungles (know when to leave lane to jungle and not waste time)

Is that assuming that you are solo-laning versus nobody, somehow getting all the creep kills?
Cause when paired with somebody else who will also try to creep kill, and matched against people who will seek to destroy you if you get too close repeatedly, I don't see how it can be easily attained except with total disregard for your own safety.

If you're in a high level game, you should see the carry getting nearly all of the CK. You can see it sometimes in nerdy tryhard Gaf Inhouses. You'll have mid and the carry having the highest gpm on the team, and then you'll see a support in the carry lane rocking something like 80 GPM until ganks/teamfights happen. Knowing how to farm, who should farm, and when to farm is where a lot of the skill ceiling in the game comes into place. Ricing is what separates Testie from Procarbine.

Guys, I'm having a hell of a time going against BH. I've played about 100 games, and I just can't seem to figure it out. I've tried doing using the portal stone, but it's normally 2 others heroes going after me so I get stunned before I can port. Are wards the only solution? I normally play as Flint, but it seems that I have problems with him with all my heroes.
Another question, is Moraxus not that good of a hero? I like playing as him, but I watch a few streams of pro players and it seems no one gets him.

Are you midding against BH as flint? BH is very very difficult to mid against as a ranged hero, just because of his base damage + hatchet and the lifesteal on last hit thingy. He's easy if you're a heavy nuke melee like pebbles/fayde or a mondo harasser like slither. But for most ranged heroes (mid), you just want to get as many last hits/denys, keep up the harass and start outganking him at level 6. Win your other lanes, cause BH can't carry a a disabled ant.
Moraxes is a good hero, it's just that there are a lot better heroes that play his role much more effectively. Moraxe mid stomp is always fun tho.

As for the BH situation, you didn't really make it clear whether or not it was ganks or facing him in mid.
With regard to ganks, you need to have wards and team support to deal with him. Meaning, your team needs to teleport to come help you. Either that or you need to have a teleport to escape with, since BH has no way to prevent this, just like arachna, warbeast, etc. He's only really an issue when he's way ahead in farm and levels, otherwise if he tries to solo gank you, you can just stand your ground and beat him up. Map awareness comes with experience, and since you seem to be getting ganked, try to pay more attention to the mini map/where the opposing heroes are to avoid getting caught in a vulnerable position.
As for BH middle, you need to take as much of his last hits as you can, both kills and denies, and harass the crap out of him. Creep kill healing is what makes him strong early on, so you have to prevent it. If he silences you, use that +20% damage to give him more damage back. BH is a very powerful hero in the lower brackets of play because he exploits lack of team play, map awareness, and easy last hitting. Take these things away and he's a virtually useless hero with nothing more than an auto-attack and a silence.
I played against a BH mid today on SS, take a look at match 61787427 for an example of beating one. I don't know what your rating is, but I'm guessing it's in the 1500s or 1600s, so the BH should be at around your level.
Also, a lot of players coming from LoL seem to have the mindset of learning one hero, playing them over and over. I'm of the opinion that you should play as wide a range of heroes as you can to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the game and see what you like/are good at. HoN's new FTP model makes this more difficult though, I don't know if you're legacy or not.

Just a warning to anyone who downloaded Rise of Immortals - I just caught it (thank god) but it installs "Pando Media Booster" for downloading the game. Make sure you uninstall it because it uses up about 4-5 gigs of upload a day. Ruined my cap for this month
