Didn't like it. Caviezel very miscast. It also annoyed me how he ended up basically narrating the episode explainly-mcsplainerson style because he was transmitting his super-duper eavesdropping stuff back to his handler. It was as if the audience was too stupid to figure it out, so Caviezel had to explain it to us.

it was indeed boring - will this be another "case based" series or is `there some mythology to be found?

Just watched it myself. I personally really enjoyed. I know that it felt kinda procedural and could understand how the characters felt stale but hey, Fringe didn't come around until the second half of season 1 so I wouldn't drop POI just yet.

I see what you're saying about the narration, but I just enjoying hearing Caviezel's voice work.

Also, Hobo Jesus does it like a boss.

This show cemented for me the fact that Cavaziel is the off-brand Christian Bale.
Bale for snake
Cavaziel for Liquid snake.

Episode is moving a lot smoother without the clunky premise exposition. That reese backstory bit was real nice.

I think it's safe to say there's never going to be another Lost. Network TV drama is dead.
Someone missed Friday Night Lights and is currently missing Fringe, both of which beat out Lost.
Not to mention the good shows that come around most years like Lone Star that get canceled. Wait for Awake midseason from the same guy and tell me network drama is dead.

It's too bad Jesus isn't as badass as he was in the pilot, but I think I enjoy his antics regardless. It's enough to excuse all the pointless scifi conspiracy Deus Ex stuff anyway.

I really like this but that intro is really shitty, what the fuck are you doing CBS? Not a lot of just straight up "cool" shows like this on tv currently, procedural or not. I hope it stays around for awhile. God I wish I looked this good in a suit.

Great episode, I really liked it. Good to get some background on "Harold" Finch. So his friend seeded those doubts about the 'Irrelevant' list in his mind. Perhaps Finch was crippled in whatever incident killed his friend... which could explain his need to atone, to help people. It'd be even worse if his friend was deemed 'Irrelevant' and Finch could have stopped it had he cared enough.

Jim Caviezal was badass as always. Love how brutal he is as a network tv protagonist. Just ram a jackass with a garbage truck. I loved the leg shot at the end. Hahaha.

It is a procedural, so you can pick it up anytime. But it is pretty cool. And somehow, Michael Emerson is creepier on this than he was on Lost. Which means I love him.

Typical CBS superficial bullshit. Oh well. I might tune in for another couple of episodes to see if it actually becomes interesting but this seems to be about as shallow as they get on that network. Too bad because I like the premise and actors involved.

I almost hope this show becomes a hit, so we have something to replace the "Jack kill count" with. "Jesus leg count".

I watched the pilot episode. It is a great premise and Caviezel is a good fit for the character, but I can see it getting cancelled before you can blink twice.

They can literally churn out a million episodes and not evolve the overall story arc, because it is such a case of something going down somewhere, some time. Which is just a cocktease.

Enjoyed the pilot. Not brilliant, but very watchable. It's hard to not see Ben Linus though. Especially when Emmerson is spouting lines like "I've been watching you John", and Caviezel is constantly asking "What are the numbers?" :p

I really like how Emerson's character handles his own secrecy on his day job. He owns the company, but hides as a low-level programmer. It's awesome.

edit: I caught the pilot, wasnt impressed. It picked up by the end but it didnt left wanting to come back for the 2nd episode. Emerson is his usual mysterious self .. sigh.

Correct. Fringe is what LOST would be with a competent creative team who knows what they are doing and where the show is going. Which is absolutely hilarious seeing that they are former writers from LOST :lol

I hate to say it, but this show sucks so far.

Corny one liners, barely any attention to detail, bad/stiff acting, etc.

I guess the premise is kind of cool (in theory, not how it's played out so far).

The first episode was extremely rushed..
"hey old Army Ranger dude, wanna help me?"
"no"
"are you sure"
"Ok, i'll help you"
*kills dudes*

The second episode :
shit gets hairy, oh no ! they're gonna die!
*gunman gets shot from unknown location*
Jim Cavaziel walks in with smoking gun
repeat

p.s. why does the bad guy always rip his shirt off and reveal his bullet-proof vest after being shot in everything ever made?

Just because...

I'm not entirely convinced on this one yet. They need to get rid of the procedural feel. Everything just seems to fall into place for them, and it feels artificial. The interesting stuff was the Finch backstory and job as a low-level programmer. More of that, less of the silliness, and this can be good.

Also, what are the odds that
Jesus shot Finch in the leg at some point in the past, giving him his limp? That's why Finch has been "watching" Jesus, and knew about him.

The plot thickens indeed. 2nd episode was pretty good, really enjoyed the dynamic between the leads. There is definitely a lot more to what led Harold to decide to start saving people.

All I see is a bunch of upset Lost fans trying to delude themselves into thinking that other wannabee shows are better. Meh.

Yup, the dynamic between the two was good. Still needs a lot of work.

And all I see is an idiot making up false accusatory and insulting arguments and posting shitty gifs because he's doing his best to not embarrass himself on the internet by outright crying and whining. Unfortunately, he's failing.

I'm not an upset Lost fan. Stop acting like everyone who doesn't call it the best show ever is Erigu.
Friday Night Lights is a wannabe Lost? Hahaha.
Fringe is sci-fi. It's not a wannabe Lost. Suggesting that any sci-fi show is a wannabe Lost only shows small-mindedness and pure unadulterated irrational fanboy rage.

Stop being childish.
