I'm currently at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival in Evansville, IN. It's the second largest street fair in the US. They have a crazy assortment of food items.

I've already had a "Pig in the Mud" sandwich. Here's a photo:

What else should I try? I'll try a couple more and take photos. (can't easily embed photos from iPhone, so I'll post links). Be sure to mention the booth number.

I knew this thread would be about the Fall Festival.

I'll be there Friday night. There are two things I always get when I go: chicken and dumplings and a pork tenderloin sandwich. I try to stay away from the desserts. Usually by the time I get out there (Friday or Saturday night) all of the good and 'crazy' things are sold out.

But yeah, nothing beats chicken and dumplings and tenderloin from the Fall Fest.

That "Pig in the Mud" sandwich would be a lot better if the bread was toasted.

i was expecting a very different kind of festival. the kind where your best bet is to find the van with the closest to correct spelling of "sausage" and make sure to camp within waddling distance of the latrine.

They take the entire item and run it through the cotton candy machine, giving it a wig of cotton candy.

Can't go wrong with the good old funnel cake, but I see Alligator on the menu. You should try that. It's actually pretty good.

It's pretty big. Over 150,000 people attend. It runs until Saturday.
