Not really. I thought blonde girl kind of acted/sounded like her. It made sense for her to be with the mercenary more than Graham and this is very reminiscent of RE2. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley Graham was originally supposed to be Sherry at some point before they decided to completely cut off the connection between past RE titles as well. That and Capcom finally took the hint that fans really wanted Sherry to return and were really hyped when they thought Sherry was in RE5.

Going to make a guess here and say that Leon's scenario takes place before RE5 with Chris and new guy's scenarios happening concurrently a few years later.

It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

If I am reading that right, that should eliminate your theory, but I do hope this is a sequel to Resident Evil 5, and not a prequel.

The third secret playable character could have the "sequel" storyline to Resident Evil 5, while Leon and Chris have the prequel storyline if this talk about it being a prequel to RE5 holds true.

I noticed that Leon's story seems to have zombies, while Chris's story has something similar to the Uroboros enemies, could this mean there would be two different antagonist groups/individual at work here?

Isn't Uroboros suppose to be more powerful since it was a combination of all the different viruses from RE4 and before it? Doesn't make sense to unleash a inferior virus if you have access to a more powerful one.

This was definitely a great trailer, and loved that it was more than 3 minutes, and provided plenty of juicy material for fans to theorize and play with while we wait until November. I was expecting any kind of announcement of Resident Evil 6 to follow with some sort of 30 second teaser with a few flashes of cut scenes and a logo than a Spring or Fall 2013 release date at the end of the trailer, but it far exceeded my expectations with the length of the trailer, and a November 2012 release date.

Yeah, upon seeing the character and hearing her voice, my immediate thought was Ashley. I'm not convinced otherwise. Sherry has brown hair. Rebecca has brown hair. Ashley has blonde hair. Character appearances throughout the series have been pretty consistent. Who knows, though.

I played and loved RE2 (and replayed it within a couple years too) and I had to look on google to remind myself who Sherry is. Completely unmemorable.

I played and loved RE2 (and replayed it within a couple years too) and I had to look on google to remind myself who Sherry is. Completely unmemorable.

There were 4 main protagonists in the entire game(Leon, Ada, Claire and Sherry). You even briefly play as Sherry. The entire 2nd half of the game's plot is entirely about Sherry. Most of the game is about Sherry and her family. I can understand maybe not recognixing the name but the character itself was the center point for most of the game.

No, I'm not mocking you. I'm simply saying it's really not that hard out of the 4 possible characters to play as out of the extremely small cast I don't understand how you could forget the character since the entire plot is based around it. For most of Claire's mission she's running around always mentioning Sherry and revolves entirely around Sherry. You wander around RPD most of the time so you can find Sherry. You wander around the underground lab most of the time to find a cure for Sherry. Both Mr. X and Steve Birkin constantly attack you because they want Sherry.

Not saying to remember every plot detail of the RE game but when half the game is spent doing actions for Sherry, I don't think it'd be that hard to remember. However, this is a stupid arguement. My apologies if I offended you.

I am pretty sure Capcom subscribes to the John Carmack theory of story/plot/writing in video games:

Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important.

I would approximate .000000000000000000000005% of the budget goes to writing. Pretty much all of the minute to minute plot/dialogue in all of the RE's could be used in another RE game for entirely different gameplay sequences. Honestly at this point I bet they have 20 Resident Evil scripts lying around that they made from playing Mad Libs. Capcom don't give a fuck, and they still make some of the best video games.

I can remember almost every sequence in RE4, in a row, in terms of what you are actually doing in the game. The minute to minute "story beats"? Who cares. Cutscenes in RE4/RE5 are there more to pad the gameplay length (and to give a very small amount of context) then to provide you anything worth retaining in your memory.

yeah apparently krauser and leon go on a mission, krauser sees bows for the first time, decides being infected with super viruses to get magic powers is coo', and in the process he gets his arm crippled and thus goes crazy and jealous of leon and looks for wesker

That and they leave South America with Manuela who somehow survives despite still being infected with the Veronica virus. Leon even says at the end that the virus is still out there in the loose in the Amazon and that it will keep growing and then leaves. What a way to end a game with the entire Amazon getting infected by the T-virus.

The trailer was actually a secret double trailer for RE6 and RE: Damnation, and all of the Leon parts are scenes from the movie (and graphics, low-res textures are final for the movie).

RE6 is actually just the Chris and new-guy parts.
