The entire Saints bounty pool went straight into Lynch's bank account because of that run.

Apparently Golic was on the radio this morning going batshit insane about how awesome and great bounties are.

That must be why he took truckloads of steroids.

Ryan Braun blah blah blah

It's weird to me that ESPN is going fully into the defense of bounties tank. I wonder what their angle is. Are they afraid of losing a ton of highlight reel material?

ESPN has a history of glorifying big hits. I thought they dropped it once Goodell started his Pansification of the NFL Project, but apparently not.

So does NFL.com, however I still find it odd that while they are sanctimonious douche bag nannies on just about every single other issue in sports, they have no problem with paying guys to injure players.

I wouldn't say Golic was really defending it, more like he was just saying that a lot of teams do it but without the coaches backing it. Same thing Darren Woodson said when he came on the show. That players would give each other money for big plays and the coaches would know about it but they wouldn't be the ones behind it.

Golic was saying that he doesn't see anything wrong with it as long as the hit is legal though. So there's that.

Damn no one got the Dolphins? Heck I'll do it. I now I'm an unknown here but I do plan on posting a lot when free agency begins.

Who you thinking we're taking? If we get Peyton I think we take Fitzpatrick if he drops to us. If we don't get Manning we're either trading up the first pick or we're gonna do some trades and grab Tannehill a little later in the first.

RBH down again, I wonder how long he's banned for this time. Could it be perm :/? Last ban for him was 3 months. Anyone got contact with him outside of gaf to ask?

If he gets permed for a bullshit Adelle is fat factual statement, that is ludicrous.

I rarely venture out of NFL GAF or threads about crippling depression, can fat jokes really get you banned? The snark level on GAF is so high in general and fat jokes seem so tame in comparison.

I can't believe Foster and Johnson got essentially identical contracts.

5yrs, 21m guaranteed, 30m over first 3 seasons
vs:
5 years, 19m guaranteed, 24m over first 3 seasons.

Wow. I guess the question is if the Bills merely overpaid or if they had to given the market for receivers?

Just watched that vid, 3 thoughts

section1 : lol looks stupid as fuck
section2 : a lightsaber battle on that might be cool
section3: :jndeath

so what's the difference between a 'big play' and 'intent to injure'?

I think Golic was severely confused this morning.
Incentives for causing fumbles, making the extra effort to finish tackles, etc... those are 'big plays' to me and worthy of praise. Going out there to add that 'extra something' to injure a player or even end their career is unacceptable. Period.

I'll say this: as a MN Vikings fan, I'll be the first to admit that the boys in purple beat themselves in that NFCC09 game. 6 turnovers. It's amazing they even made it into overtime with those kinds of mistakes. Dirty hits, shady officiating... none of that matters (as much) had they kept those turnovers down. In fact, it probably would have been a severe ass-kicking if the Vikes had played mistake-free football. None of that matters anymore. I'm more concerned with a 3-13 team trying to find a new identity.

I walked away from that game liking Drew Brees (always liked the guy) but feeling like the culture of The Saints and Gregg Williams was dirty as shit. I'm not surprised by any of this stuff going on.

I think a poster elsewhere said it best and referred to sports-GAF as a pub.

I think you'd have to say something worse than that to get banned here.

I think short of outright racism or extreme trolling to the point of belligerence, you won't get banned in sports-GAF.

You step outside of those doors, though, and all bets are off. Say one bad thing about Zelda and you're Sanduskied.

Evidently it can. Once snesfreak gets unbanned he's going to start snitching on everybody here who makes a Fatman joke.

I know you're joking but I do remember over at NHL-GAF we had a point where a lot of our regulars were getting banned all over. Basically was summed up that the sports threads get away with a lot more as long as it's confined to within the threads themselves.

Ever since I saw that I tread very carefully in other threads. I don't usually say anything terrible but just in case I do slip up one day...

NY post has a review of the Giants Super Bowl BD for those interested:

I should have mind tomorrow. It's 73 minutes long and extra include:

Super Bowl Media day
Super Bowl Post Game Ceremonies
Superbwol XLII Recap
The Eli Manning Conversation
The Receiving Giants
Catching up with David Tyree

Catching up with that homophobic asshole David tyree? Oh boy I can't wait to see that segment!

Not that I post that much anywhere anymore, but I try to keep that mindset too. I don't get why harmlessly calling a very rich person fat gets you in trouble.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Terrible, terrible move. The guy disappears for WEEKS at a time. He constantly overruns the QB and is almost always running back toward the OL to make a play. He pads his stats against terrible teams.

They're going to lose Tulloch at MLB over this and that's a huge mistake--that guy was our MVP on defense last year. Avril benefited huge from the addition of Fairley and Suh and I think many cheaper DEs would have equal or near the success that Avril had if they were plugged in his place.
