For starters, Mr. Latham was asked about Gran Turismo on PlayStation Vita. “You told us earlier how interested you would be in buying the PS Vita version of the latest Gran Turismo game,” the survey reads. “Knowing that you might be able to get a discount on the PS3 version of the game, how interested are you now in the PS Vita version?”

Another question inquires about future PlayStation Plus offers, a topic we’ve covered in the past. The survey reads: “Imagine that as part of PlayStation Plus, every time you bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, you would be entitled to get the game on the other console absolutely free. So, if you bought Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free. Or if you got FIFA on PS3, you could download the PS Vita version for free.” The Resistance analogy is a little strange since there aren’t literal analogs on both the console and handheld like there is for FIFA, but it seems the focus is more on the idea than anything else.

A third question asked Mr. Latham to score how interested he’d be in buying various PS3 games in different formats, either as a “standard” Blu-ray or digitally via the PlayStation Store for a discount.

Man, if they actually implemented the "buy one get the other" thing in Plus, that would make it such a good deal if you have both platforms.

works for Gamestop (lol)
This is the right direction but should not be limited to Plus users. Unless it's discounted for non-Plus and free for Plus...

I like the idea of a dual-release for annual sports franchises and the like.
I don't exactly like it for most other titles.

Just because there's a large overlap in demographics between VITA owners and PS3 owners DOESN'T mean all these VITA owners want to do is to play games they can already play on their PS3. Some of them would like to play original content on their portables as well.

Sounds like a neat idea, but wouldn't more people be interested in something like getting the digital version free if you bought a retail game?

Also, "latest version of GT on Vita": definite buy.

As someone who buys a handheld for myself and a handheld for my wife, what I'd really like is some way for me to be able to only purchase 1 game and enjoy multiplayer with her.

You can activate Vita content on 2 devices, so if you and your wife were to own a Vita you can share the same PSN account and access content without paying additionally.

Who shoots a picture from a computer screen !? Screen Shot is crying right now.

Makes it look authentic.

I'd rather have other non vita related features as someone who's extremely hesitant about buying a system with such a bleak looking future but as long as they don't raise the price of PS+ for everyone then I don't care. I just don't want to pay more because of something I don't want.

Can you "play yourself" in a multiplayer game though? I imagine it just logs one Vita off if the other logs on.

Wasn't there a survey prior to Vita's launch that asked if people would be interested in buying digital if they have like 50% discounts? That sure happened.

1) How does that work for physical copies?
2) Can we actually play together? Usually logging in on an account in one place logs it out from another.

I was talking about PSN accounts, sorry about that. If the game supports local multiplayer that's not a problem, however if the game only supports online you won't be able to play together.

VITA ALREADY DOOMED!

This would work but it likely means you'd need a membership if you want to keep playing the games you 'got' for the other system

I'm not sure this is the smartest idea...seems like the whole concept of VITA is anti retailer.

Do they mean a Vita version of GT5? That seems like it'd be a nightmare to port to the Vita.

All they showed at E3 was a short AC trailer and the CoD logo. It's not like retailers have any software to sell anyway. :p

Buy our overpriced digital games and we'll throw in a second one for free, for another console, from last year, which you've already played, but only if you also pay $50 a year.

Yeah, that'll save the Vita.

Maybe that's what Polyphony Digital's new studio is doing. PSV GT titles.

Possibly, but I still think the best move would be for Sony to convince Kaz to let them outsource it to Evolution. Let Ged Talbot (one of the lead designers on Project Gotham) lead up the games development. It'd be a fresh take on the series, which is what I think it'd need to really be a factor for the Vita.

You don't think that would be bad? GT is a series that has never had a release outsourced and is a very particular game.
