I need to play some MP to get the readiness up. What a cheap way to encourage multiplayer..

They've been encouraging multiplayer with free awesome new dlc characters, weapons and maps along with constant updates.

Edit: AND Weekend Operations

So essentially they're not fixing the stuff that most people were complaining about and breaks the lore.

It's nice to know this is the last Bioware game I ever buy.

A lot of people were complaining about past decisions not showing and unclear stuff like what happen to the galaxy after everything blows up and how did Joker flee and grab our crew on the ground before that. That stuff should be shown.

Will give it a shot I guess, I haven't touched the game since like the week after it came out.

It's sad that such a terrible ending to a trilogy can turn you off a series, I loved playing the ME games over and over but these days I just think "meh", even the novels I picked up just before ME3 release I just can't be bothered with.

I hope something good comes out of this extended ending, I really do.

I am infinitely more interested in seeing the internet response to this content more than the content itself. It'll be delicious.

I have to freshen up on my complaints of the series storyline and the plot holes. Because honestly Bioware dropped so far into irrelevancy after this game that in the 5 or so months it has been I have forgotten mostly everything about ME's universe and plot.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
ME3's issues run far deeper then the crap ending. This is like trying to fix a severed limb with a band-aid.

They had to do something. The whole of the internet turned on them. It's been hilarious watching the damage control since the game came out. They actually seem to think people still care about this franchise.

Is it wrong i'm more excited for the impending Bioware Social Network meltdowns?
I want them to not have fucked this up, but how can they make it better without changing it completely? :(

Cool we'll get to know why the normandy is hauling ass away from something, and every alienrace stuck in earths orbit.

Recent experience has taught me not to look forward to anything because you'll get your soul crushed with the disappointment so I'm expecting this to be everything the say it won't. I'll still go through the ending again though because I do like the actual game part of ME3 (though the Earth bit is probably the weakest. Gameplay wise I mean).

EDIT: Also I'm curious to see what the BSN think of it. Always a good source for meltdowns.

I will have to decide if it is worth my time to do the last mission up until end. Is that all this DLC is adding is just some more closure at the very end?

Well this will be really interesting.

I'm a ME franchise fanatic and I was utterly disappointed by ME3's ending (and partly by the whole game) ... but I'll still give it another playthrough (a 100% completion) and see this "Extended Cut". I doubt they'll fix anything. They said they won't change the ending, just "elaborate" on it. For me, there's nothing to elaborate. It's horrible and unworthy of this great franchise...

We'll see... after July 10th when I'm back from vacation.

My brain tells me "this is going to suck just as much as the original ending, don't believe in BioWare you ignorant slut." But my heart tells me "just suck it up and get that galactic readiness back up and see it for yourself because I'm a masochist."

Who still cares about this? I'm so over it. The whole thing is more amusing to me as a joke. Fuck Bioware. Too little, too late.

Since their are just "expanding" my expectations are really low. Can't wait for Bioware to show me how their ending was brilliant all along...

Half of the 1.9 GB are probably those cutscenes rendered with the in-game engine but saved as .bik files, a lot easier and cheaper to Q&A.

This is probably worth noting.
I've been expecting a short cinematic that was supposed to 'somehow' make up for the awful endings, so I hope it's going to be more than that.

Not really having high hopes since Bioware said they supported their ideas and weren't going to change the ending. Doubting how explaining it will suddenly make it a good, if not better ending, but I'll wait and see.

So I'm going to have to replay that painful set of battles on Earth? And I'm going to have to get my Galactic Readiness back to 100% after not having touched the game in months? God. Fine. BioWare, I hope this is worth it.

Well... guess I'm going to be doing some galactic readiness farming this weekend.

...or I'll just watch it on youtube

Yeah..my Galactic Readiness is like at 70%. I originally finished it at 100% XD

No biggie, loved the game and the multiplayer is great; plus there's an "operation weekend" starting today until early Monday so; another excuse to play multi.

Mass Effect 3 did a good job of diverting all the rage from Deception.

Deception was always a joke, but the shock and disappointment at Mass Effect 3 made it more of a travesty. (of course Mass Effect 3 is also a joke now that the bitterness has worn off)

Thought it was the best ME of the bunch even with the ending as it was. The whole game felt like an extended ending.

I can just replay the last mission to see the new content as it relates to my Shepard right, it's all at the end?

We don't know if you'll have to work on galactic readiness. The only thing that affected in the previous ending was you get a 5 second extended clip at the very end of the ending, that really resulted in nothing. But we don't know if you'll have to play MP for the new extended ending.

Interesting to see so many people willing to give it a shot.

This franchise is dead to me - but if user response will be positive, I might watch a YT walkthrough.

Some people actually seem to think getting readiness is a chore? But the multiplayer is very fun... hell it's MORE fun than the campaign for many people. Plus you have the multiplayer event this weekend to get special weapons. And 100% is not necessary unless you skipped a lot of quests.

It's so weird i really don't care about this anymore, first thought was. Ugh thats a lot i have to replay.
This is coming from someone who played trough ME1 and ME2 both 6 times.

I'm curious about further DLC. I think I'd rather wait a year for it all to be out, and give it an entire second run with tons of DLC like I did with part 2.

Do we have to play for a couple of hours or not?

If not I will watch it on youtube. I don't want to replay the ending again, the earth mission is awfully boring.

THE FRANCHISE IS DEAD for me.

Anything that requires you to play MP for SP purposes is a chore and quite frankly should be illegal. But like I said it didn't really "require" you to play before unless you put so much weight into that meaningless 5 second clip.

You have to replay the cerberus base and the ending part. So yeah a few hours.

Wait a second, your save has to be before the Cerberus base attack in order to utilize the new content? Is that a standard deal with all the saves? Shouldn't my save be set sometime during the endgame on Earth?

waste of resources, no one is going to be satisfied, i wouldnt be surprised if it just made for another shit storm wave.

endings just are that they are a end to things.

Yes, but your Endgame save that is made after you beat the game brings you back before the Cerberus base assault since thats the last point when the entire galaxy map is still open.

not going to listen to that podcast or read anything about this, just going to play. I don't have high hopes.
