I listen to a shitload of other artists. Your ridiculously awful argument fails.

Doesn't change the fact that a large portion of Eminem fans don't listen to hip hop, just Eminem. And then make ridiculous statements suggesting he created multi-syllable rhyming, is the only rapper who doesn't talk about the streets, etc

Em is a great rapper and MC, but is not top 5

Nah he's top 5 for sure. You just seem upset that he has appeal to even those who don't listen to hip hop exclusively.

Count me as one of those guys that prefer his older material, including Rock Bottom, the original Bad Meets Evil, and Role Model.

I've listened to most of his recent stuff, and it seems he's stuck on the same flow and rapid delivery style.

People are still denying his influence and talent in the Hip Hop community after Marshall Mathers LP. Wow. Smh. Stay losing.

Nas
Biggie
Ghostface Killah
Kool G Rap
2pac

Eminem is a great rapper and MC there's no doubt about it, but his best albums (MMLP, Eminem Show) don't really compare to some of the classics the very best artists have released (Illmatic, Ready To Die, Supreme Cliente, etc). Lyrically I don't think he comes close to Nas, and in terms of technical rapping many are better (Kool G Rap, Big Pun, Big L). I might put Jay-Z in his prime ahead of Eminem in his prime. And I hate on Jay-Z more than anybody...

Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show are hands down his best albums. He was on top with the Show. Literally. Couldn't go a day without hearing Lose Yourself on any radio station. 8 Mile was out. The damn song Renegade came out. Damn. Now he's almost 40. Lol.

inb4 people act like he isn't one of the best rappers of all time.

edit: too late

early/mid 2000's, are are you counting the mess that came after that? he's great and i don't argue with people rating him, but he's not even top 10 for me.

I listen to a shitload of other artists. Your ridiculously awful argument fails.

not good ones, apparently. my man PD just named 5 better ones that even em wouldn't claim he's better than.

fuck is you doing, sidd? you think heads are ready for that here?

Em was good when he could laugh at himself. He's so fucking serious now, every track is like Kim, him whining about how he's been wronged in life in the high pitched nasal shrill. Urgh, so done with that guy, SS LP, awesome, MM LP, maybe even better, Eminem Show, hmm, everything else, yeah, go away now.

I'm hoping most of em burst into flames and melt on some Indiana Jones opening the ark shit.

You can't deny that on a pure technical level, Eminem is definitely top 5. As an artist though, things get much more personal. Pac, Nas and Biggie should be on everybody's list, the rest are debatable.

And I completely agree with you on on the albums. Eminem never delivered the album he was capable of (even though I love Slim Shady LP, objectively it's not a masterpiece).

across his full body of work? oh there's questions, my friend

You have no clue. Go listen to relapse.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqspZbBZvIU

wait, he's got no clue? you're propping up an album so bad em practically apologized for it, man.
Recovery was at least a step back in the right direction, but go listen to shit like his verse on i need a doctor with Dre...he's not getting back to those old heights again.

He redeemed himself pretty quickly with Hell: The Sequel. Though i did have an awesome summer playing Recovery.. Some of the tracks hyped me sky high.

Almost famous is my favourite track on recovery

Now get off my dick, dick's too short of a word for my dick
Get off my antidisestablishmentarianism you prick!
Don't call me the champ, call me the space shuttle destroyer
I just blew up the challenger, matter of fact, I need a lawyer
I just laced my gloves with enough plaster to make a cast
Beat his ass naked and pee'd in his corner like Verne Troyer
Ya'll are Eminem backwards, you're menime's
See he's in a-whole-nother weight class, his slugs your BB's
Your bean bag bullets, you're full of it, you were dissing his CD's

Best rapper in the game.

I love relapse, My opinion on an album doesn't change if the artist regrets making it. My point was eminem is not serious all now if he is rapping about murdering superstars. My entire life is in stages of Eminem albums i was blasting at the time. The dude completes me.

RELAPSE > ENCORE. Any day of the week

Eminem apologized cause his fans bitched about his annoying accent. You gotta realize Stan's are one of the worst fans in any fanbase ever. Now the last time I checked, they're praising it and completely deny even trashing it. With the rhyming, I'd definitely put it up there as one of my favorites. Content wise though.. The same ol' shock value eminem.

"In fact, let's be honest/ That last Relapse CD was 'ehh'/ Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground/ Relax, I ain't going back to that now"

it was ehh for more than just the shitty accents though, and fuck stans, i still stand by that accent being lazy/boring. agreed on your last sentence though.

I love relapse, My opinion on an album doesn't change if the artist regrets making it..

i can kinda dig this, ive liked certain tribe/wu efforts the groups haven't.

Best rapper in the game.

there is no way you're listening to other artist and thinking this, cause

...oh. my bad
i feel like i was just talking shin megami with that kid who chronicled his life with final fantasy

"You have no clue." then "Go listen to Eminem, Relapse."

Wow, that's just perfect. Keeping it real indeed.

I was replying to this quote. Relapse is not all Eminem wining. Its some pretty amazing Dre beats will Eminem rapping some sick lines.

I'm a big fan of relapse the most out of all his newer stuff, Hell: the sequel coming in at a close second.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfpIOnJXp6E

That for example is the classic Eminem

I'm just thankful he came back to us after his benzo addiction and dropped an album for the fans..

I thought the accent was annoying as well. And it still is. But I seriously think his fans and listeners in general had a HUGE role in him even saying that "ehh" line. I mean when he made relapse, Em was like "oh yeah I thought it was dope" or "I'm experimenting". The result: fans initially hated it. Now they gobble it up AFTER recovery. I think artists really need to stick to what they wanna put out. Don't let the fans dictate it. Obviously i dunno if the label has a say in that. Just my opinion of course.

i dig the sentiment, i just thought the album was lazy and he clearly didnt feel like he had much to say. i mean, by the time he's doing tracks bitching about mp3s i kinda shut it down anyway.

i think common walked back electric circus at some point (could be wrong), i still dug it for what it was. everyone should experiment when inclined, ye's 808s found a crowd too. i just didnt think em was branching out like he mighta thought he was.

Facebook likes are generated by bots, but I'm sure most are real. Not sure why a person would love a person who raps about murdering his wife but whatever. He's just an ok rapper, his older stuff was a lot better, except a few of his drug fueled songs

I dunno man, it's just my opinion. I used to love the guy, but now he just seems to have a beef with everyone and everything. I though Kim was pretty powerful, but that "emotionally wrenched shouting" he does kind of grates after a few minutes. I miss him raping about snagging fat rednecks and popping happy pills. Now he just seems to lament everything, it gets really old.

IrishNinja i have seen the wu tang clan 3 times, and kid cudi is my overall favourite artist right now. Really digging some of nas's new stuff to.

Its a pretty low blow insulting my music tastes because i really dig eminems relapse album. I feel like i'm high school again.

Yeah I have nothing wrong with rappers expirementing.. Granted they don't pull a Snoop Lion or Kid Cudi WZRD on me. Lmao. Thats doing the most. But hey, they can do what they want. But when rappers try something new and it ends up backfiring, I hope to god they take their L like a man rather than being like "oh shit, the fans and critics are right and I have no idea what type of music I wanna make." Deep down Em likes Relapse I bet. As bad as that sounds. Lol. if there was one album he should of been ashamed of its Encore.

Never understood the Eminem haters. Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP, and the Eminem Show were great albums. Great albums.

No matter how shit his recent stuff is he will always be the guy who made those albums. And because of that he can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.

One of the best MC's ever. Period.

WZRD is a great album. I had no idea GAF has such bad taste regarding music..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPkEKxeiwaA

This song made me stop smoking weed for a good few weeks till some awesome guy passed me a spliff at a wu tang concert.

My point is CUDI is an unstoppable life changer to me. The dude is helping me through some harsh time's. Can't wait till man on the moon 3
