Yes, the game is obviously inspired by SB. Who cares? Every thing is inspired by something. Street Fighter inspired different fighting games and they evolved the fighting genre. You can argue that many of Kamiya's games were inspired by Golden Axe. He must not watch movies or read novels, since most story arcs, themes, etc. stem from previous ideas. The Matrix for example, was a great movie that heavily borrowed themes and motifs. It's essentially another variety of free will v. destiny; or even head in a jar by Descartes.
Uncharted obviously borrowed ideas from other stories, gameplay, etc., but executed better than most games.
IMO, it's a very myopic view. Yes, you can always try to reinvent the wheel. Come up with something brand new. But you can also improve on something else and make it fantastic, and memorable on its own. I haven't played the game yet, but what if it's fantastic? What if the final game plays amazing, looks great, and is fun? I just don't get his type of thinking, and i find it disappointing. End of my rant
