They're not that big.

true enough... not big enough for me

wonder what kind of TV that is under the hood?

I was tempted to get a 65" LED along with my Wii U when I went to Walmart today but I was thinking my 720p Plasma makes Wii games look decent I was not sure if a 1080p tv would hurt Wii mode. So tempted did not bite still thinking about it.

Back on the topic of achievements for a minute, Frozenbyte had this to say on the subject it seems

Fans of other consoles may also be pleased to hear that Wii U could have some sort of achievements system afterall, possibly known as “accomplishments” as has been rumoured in the past, though what form it takes is unknown. “I'm almost 100% sure that there will be some type of system.”

From NintendoLife* Someone warn me if they are a banned site.

So I guess we still have no definitive answer...

I eagerly stopped at Best Buy today. Nothing was set up. I don't think I'll be using GameStop for any services, so I won't be going there. I went to Wal-Mart, so hopefully I'm guaranteed one at the midnight launch.

*Sigh* Going have to cut down the number of games I pick up after release now. My TV decided not to work this evening. After some research and it seems Sanyo brand TVs (had a 26 inch) stop working like this. Green light but not turning on. Out of warranty as well. Ugh. Luckily my much smaller first HDTV still works. Now to go TV shopping over the weekend.

At least Pikmin 3 and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate are 2013 purchases. That means I have to delay Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Lego City Undercover (unless this comes out in 2013) and any others I might have been interested. Just not affordable.

Not sure if the HDTV recommendation thread is still around. Haven't been able to find it. Anyone have any recommendations in the $200 to $250 price range? Or know if the thread is still around?

they won't take $45 in cash? I think that is around the least amount you need to reserve it... then go back later when your card is fixed

I think Nintendo really fucked up to allow negative COD press to spread like this
http://www.examiner.com/article/wii...lack-ops-2-will-not-support-cod-elite-service

stupid move

sorry DP

Some of the biggest news of the week came when Activision announced the Call of Duty: Elite service would be switching to a free model when "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" launches next month.

There's just one problem, Wii U owners won't be able to take advantage of the service. Activision made is official today in a talk with Kotaku, saying that "Call of Duty's" digital network wouldn't be available on the system.

"We are currently evaluating options for Call of Duty Elite to support Nintendo's Wii U game system, however Call of Duty Elite for "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" will not support this platform when the game launches on November 13th," said an Activision representative.

This is a huge, HUGE blow to people who are not only picking up the Nintendo Wii U console but those getting "Black Ops 2" for it as well. While the Elite service isn't a requirement to play "Black Ops 2" it's a great feature that can help players improve their game along with connecting with other players.

It's a shame Activision can't make it work for the console, then again it could just be a work in progress, and they could fix it down the line.

It's a huge blow because they aren't getting Elite day 1? I don't even know anyone that uses Elite, and the Wii U can have it expect it's not going to be day 1.

Back pics have surfaced. It is certainly different from before.

I lost it with the "have I had six shots or five?" bit. They've gone nuts with the humour by the looks of it, I just hope they have copious references to Lethal "I'm too old for this shit" Weapon and Tango and Cash.

still bad to have negative press for it even if it comes later... not my kind of game I was not planning to spend money on it but what Nintendo has been trying to change is this casual image and no online image. no one will give them a pass that this is a launch port and maybe the devs took to time to focus on GamePad features rather than those other things.

Nope. I've been out on Black Friday a number of times in the past. The sale price isn't worth getting up that early to get to stores or to deal with the crowds. Especially when there are only a limited number of electronics.

Like you guys said, I doubt that's a retail unit.

It's not.

And now I understand why Nintendo was so adamant about not showing shots of the back. Too many morons will report that this is the final retail unit and that it has "hidden features". Then get mad at Nintendo when that's not actually the case.

It's possible that their could be more too the Wii U version of COD then we know, possible that their could be Wii U exclusive content which will even the no elite day 1.

I'd believe it, some people think it was Nintendo's fault that 14 year old were working at Foxconn on Wii U even though every system was worked on teens, not just Wii U.

Actually my buddy Shane R Monroe of reviewlagoon.com who snapped those pics!

HAHAHAH...that is too funny. I was wondering why the pics he was showing me were the same ones on Go Nintendo. :)

He was frothing at the mouth about how his local GS was setting up the demo station and to expect pics shortly. Too funny.

Skiesofwonder

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
Is Rayman Legends the only demo available on the GameStop WiiU kiosks? I'm glad they chose to give gamers the chance to experience one of the best uses of Gamepad yet, but it seems a bit odd to have the public spotlight solely on a game that isn't even coming out until 2013....
