He is insanely overpowered now that they get to keep their stats. New girl will fall in love with him. His sister will join the game, fall in love with him.

If they could really exploit, they would just log out when being chased. These kids need to learn how to play games.

This was yet another disappointingly mediocre, uneventful episode. The slow, gradual pacing would likely work if the execution wasn't so thoroughly middling or if any of the narrative developments were particularly meaningful, but, unfortunately, the majority of them won't be. The background art is great, and, as such, ALfheim Online is a pretty good setting, but the character designs aren‘t visually appealing at all.

Yui
's return was nice, as she’s one of the best, most useful characters; certainly far better than any of the others currently involved in the story. Recon was awful in his temporary appearance. Of course, that incredibly grating voice doesn't help. As for Suguha, she continues to be uninteresting and comparatively insufferable, which was made apparent yet again with that ridiculously exaggerated choking scene. As of yet, one of my largest criticisms of ALO is that Suguha's actually portrayed as some sort of realistic romantic interest, which feels entirely forced and artificial, and it definitely hurts the story immensely, since she's
far too prevalent
throughout.

All in all, Sword Art Online is increasingly devolving into a tedious, unenjoyable mess, since it lacks a sense of compelling cohesion, and this episode only served to largely remind me of the plethora of reasons why I dislike this arc immensely. Though the first arc didn’t particularly impress with it’s writing, Fairy Dance deteriorates into something thoroughly flawed, much more noticeably than SAO ever was, due mostly to
Asuna's
contrived isolation in a
birdcage
for an unnecessarily large portion of the story, which creates an inability for important character development to occur.

I hope so too man. I hope so too.

As it turns out, Kirito isn't Batman, he's Clark Kent. He has an obvious identity that can't be figured out, those ears must work like Clark Kent's glasses. Even
the blond elf girl with his sister's voice who is obviously Sugu doesn't recognize him.

Blah blah blah words words, this episode is rather slow although Kirito is in the game already but it picked near end with some action. ALO players being sexist in a fairy game? No way!

It gets even better later on.

Episode 16

Hahahahaha. I kinda enjoyed this!
The part with Yui was really pretty bad, but I guess they already set that up earlier so there was no avoiding it. At least now maybe he can keep her in his pocket and she can stfu for most of the show!
I think I'm going to like this new game quite a bit. The mechanics sound fun, and the world looks more interesting than SAO already. Also, it's going to be interesting to see how the show handles combat and danger, now that it isn't a death game and PKing is actually encouraged. I like how even in the future with full VR game technology, flying controls still use a virtual controller! Maybe this is what happens when people get too used to Smartphone and Tablet controls. Lololol.

The music track when Kirito first lands on the forest is really good too! <3

Ah ah ah ah A beginner with mastered skills and random Upped stats this can only end well ..
This episode was adapted well .. what was that transformation scene, yui ? Well no matter ...

Next week episode is sure to be intresting .. i remarked that they made the dying animation different than in SAO ... i guess we'll get used to it since dying seems to be more than a common occurence , there

It was mentioned that it was an assist controller. I noticed the other people flying around in the episode didn't have it, so I'm assuming once you get the hang of it you can fly without it.

Still a cop out! It's an interesting touch though. Noobs use lame virtual gamepads! Lol.

......I know that pandering to certain demographics has been a staple of anime for forever, and I know that pandering to the single, male, video game junkie in particular has also been a tradition of the genre for a long time........but I feel like Accel World and SAO are taking that pandering to a whole other level......God damn. I would not be surprised for an instant if someone on this board wrote both series.

Watched this with the girlfriend, episodes 1-4. Love the story, characters, and most of all the art and music. Great anime :)

So this is what a show that's so bad it's good truly looks like. We've even got (ep 15 spoiler)
unrequited cousin love
thrown in the mix.

Yeah it's weird. I have so many complaints about this show but damn if it isn't addictive to watch.

So I got to episode 5 and exactly how many years do they spend in this virtual world? Or are these simulated years? If the game started in 2022 and it's not 2024 shouldn't everyone be looking older?

Pretty sure characters in World of Warcraft still look the same as they did 2 years ago...

16 did a fairly good job at setting the scene going forward I thought. Made me want to tune in next week.

SAO 14

Well, that was good. So many ups and downs this show, but, fuck it, it entretains.

Something did bug me

Kirito asking the big bad that he should not let Asuna commit suicide....
pricks.... this is Twilight tier

I know SAO 15 is a different kind of episode, hope 16 is different and nothing of the IF HE DIES HE DIES bull.

All I need to know is Hair Sniffer Dood is voiced by the dood doing DIO Brando in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation.

I await the inevitable battle between Vampire and Fairy.

Through some odd twists I ended up finding this show and checking out.. hm..

First of all, the obvious comparison, .hack is much better executed than this. That show's soundtrack is so unbelievably on point as well. Still, this show has some very enjoyable moments and is genuinely entertaining. The lack of filler is appreciated, but it also feels like they went down the checklist to fit in everything from pking to raiding to crafting to lagging and the now cliche rogue program. What really sets .hack apart is how well it handles the "real world" issue as compared to this show. This show is nonfuckinsensical when it comes to that stuff, but whatever, it's anime.

Actually I deleted the original because I noticed a small error.

EDIT: Guess I should add the link. nsfw

It's been a long damn time, but I seem to remember .hack//sign's characters not behaving like people playing a game. It was like they were just people living in a generic fantasy world.

That's one of the things I like about SAO. Almost all of the characters behave like people trapped in a game world that's uniquely believable and thoughtfully crafted.

Dude was living as a badass, monster-slaying child soldierhero with a perfectu waifu in a fantasy world for two years, then suddenly he's expected to come back to reality and live a normal, mundane life. Damn straight he's going to put it back on.

Relevant NSFW comic.

Well, that and his perfectu waifu is waiting for him in the next fantasy world. I'd put that shit back on too, chances of my brain being fried or no. It has to be better than the real world where the next best option is apparently incest with your imouto!
