So about SpOps' netcode...

Seriously. To my knowledge 343 hasn't addressed this and we haven't seen it played online yet.

SpOps could have some amazing missions and really nail the episodic content, but if the netcode is like past Halo Coop experiences then people wont want to play it...

The netcode is the reason I dont play firefight.

+1. Might be my biggest worry with Halo 4. There cannot be input delay or that mode will not survive.

Reach campaign is bland as fuck.

There's a reason Bungie got rid of Halo, they were bored to death of it. I'm sure 343 will feel similarly by Halo 6.

exactly this was already mentioned, at the of the game nobody can join, the exact time/point frame is unknown.

There are systems
apparently ;)
that prevent you from being put in games near the end other other undesirable games.

Pretty sure it was this that explained it a little.

Nice, thanks.

It's like they read off a check-list of Halo campaign cliches and threw them in

here's the storm the beach section

here's the scorpion tank rampage section

here's the defend the base section

Push this button here, get to that point noble

Yo that beach storming sounded fun as shit with a Spartan team and elite drop pods, but it still ended up being boring 10 seconds in.

The game needs more hoobastank in my opinion. Maybe a smashing pumpkins halo OST remix.

Pardon mua for asking, but did we ever learn anything more about join in progress, like whether or not there's a point in the match where its disabled? I don't think I'm alone when I say I don't want to join/people joining a game that's almost finished.

Agree on the co-op netcode front. If it's anything like Reach's FF input lag, or god forbid Anniversary's co-op...

and that's something we won't really know about until the game comes out. Journalists are sitting there playing SO offline on LAN, they have no idea how good or bad the input lag is for co-op online.

Yeah, had to move to the zerograv segment asap. Though it did have the star wars rogue squadron part.

I don't understand how people got so many games played online in campaign let alone got all the commendations

Still wanna know where you guys are living that FF net code is unplayable. I think I get maybe 1 poor game out of 4, with a smaller number being actually unplayable.

No amount of optimization will fix real world issues and inproper client setups--not to say net code couldn't be improved, but suggesting it is all the games' fault is disingenuous.

I played Halo CEA co-op with a New Zealander while my internet was being bad...

lol...

Agreed but there are certain network models which simply should not be used in an FPS. Lock Step is one of them.

As I said earlier, it wouldn't be so bad if the game let the player live half a second in the future (or make it so they live ping +33ms but that wouldn't be as consistent). If bandwidth was high enough, there wouldn't be any input delay.

If the input lag is like playing ODST with others within Europe it won't be too bad. Reach plays far worse even withing Europe with europeans.
Don't know about Anniversary, i never got to play it over Live... still need co-op achis and others.

Holy shit, it's Tunavi's birthday. Bastard was born a few months before I graduated high school.

'scuse me while I go cry old man tears in a corner.

Its called America. Get used to it. The net code is bad don't even try and redeem it.

Pretty sure CEAs netcode is the same as Halo 3 and ODSTs i.e everything is ping dependant including aiming where as Reach sort of allowed you to aim regardless of ping.

Trying to aim with a 100+ms delay... my god...

It's all relative. You're really young compared to a dragon. I hear dragons live a long time, even longer than pterodactyls.
Happy Bday Tunavi.

I have input lag on Firefight almost every single match when playing with buddies. Co-op in campaign isn't as bad.

I want to know where you are living that you pull host or have a perfect connection that you have no input lag. Happens on almost every game for me. Whether playing with people from the opposite coast, international, or in my own town.

Halo is the only game I've played that has input lag in coop.

I'm in America. I've got Comcast. My router is unavoidably upstairs against a far wall, under a bed. I'm using .g wireless. And I still don't have these issues at peak times.

So yeah, I doubt your knowledge of how your own setup might be screwing yourself over.

Can you believe we are only 14 days away from Halo 4? I remember looking at the countdown when there were over 100 days left. I am so pumped for this game!

Panoramas are going to be a thing of the past iv seen footage of theatre and the moment you get event remotely far away from
Terrain it's turns into a sloppy mess of low poly untextured shapes

Sad but true those graphics come at a cost the LoD system is working overtime

I guess you're right then. The halo ff and campaign isn't bad based because you say so.

Huh?
What does this mean in practice? Limited draw distance where everything looks good?
Never been a big user of theater, fun occasionally but i don't have patience for it. Exploring maps was OK fun in Halo 3, in Reach the skyboxes lacked anyhting interesting...

LoD = Level of Detail.

Further something is away, the lower it's detail to save resources.

You do realize 100ms is standard for a Halo games input lag when NOT online, right?

I don't even notice that.

And I can notice a 6ms difference when I change my screens response time. Perhaps I so used to that. Either way, 100ms added on top of what I'm used to makes a huge difference.

west coast or east coast?
middle and NT dont count you may aswell not exist.

Country Vic.

lol at NT and SA not counting :p

Not to spoil but
there isn't :/

What?

I hope this isn't true. While the bulk of my theater time is from MP, a good bit was campaign and I'll really miss this. Even more, I'll miss what guys like BlueNinja and Hedgemony were able to do with it.

Damn.

It didn't even last 10 seconds.

The wacky thing about that entire encounter is that if you run in to the hangar and then turn back around and come back out to the beach there's a Pelican dropping off a few squads of marines to defend the facility from Covenant troops that are now being dropped off further down the beach (near your insertion point) by dropships.

There's a whole second battle that happens there and you get left out. I don't understand why they would waste the time and processing power on a set piece that you would never see unless you're specifically avoiding playing through the level.

The door was probably meant to be locked and you were supposed to hold your ground for a short time.

This can't be true that there is no theater for campaign, what is with campaign runs?
With awesome screenshots?

This is better false information

Campaign Main Menu list:
Campaign, Infinity, HaloWaypoint, and Marketplace. Below it says Spartan Hub
If possible in Theater of Disc 2 you can save campaign played games and possibly play it in the MP theater, but Idk for sure...
