They chose the wrong cute Pokemon...I think it should be a Joltik designed 3DS. They've phased out the Chu anyway, Joltik can be the new cute thing.

I thought Pikachu was only really the mascot in the anime? Its not really omnipresent or related to the story in the games (besides Yellow, which is based of the anime).

Sheer Force Bagon
is not showing up in White 2 for me, I'm almost tempted to use Choice Scarf Flygon instead.

Team so far is Gyarados (x2), Roserade, Lucario, Zoroak.

Well that's quite an anti climatic. This gen has been the worst rivalry we've ever had.

Paul at least made sense that he could stand up to Ash and win since he had traveled to several other regions as well.

Trip being a rookie able to match Ash made absolutely no sense and most of his battles where pretty much deus ex bs, the junior world cup being a prime example until they turned off the swag for his battle with the Champion.

Yeah, if I had to guess, the sheer quantity of rivals Ash has got this time out is a sign that the producers realised that Trip really wasn't working. I mean, by the time of the League, Ash will have 5 official rivals:
Trip
Bianca
Stephan
Kotetsu
Virgil
I'm not complaining, mind you; Ash's secondary rivals and Cilan and Iris's rivals have been one of Best Wishes' bright spots for me.

Considering Trip's whole gimmick was insulting Ash for being a lolKantoredneck for a good chunk of the series before meeting Alder, I'm ok if they brush him off at the earliest of the tournament.

Sorry but I can't take Kotetsu seriously as a rival since they introduced him WAY too late in the game plus the fact he's a total goof ball to the point he makes Bianca look competent.

And we know jack about Virgil other then his Eevee theme. He's just a standard league dude for Ash to beat down not a real rival.

It's funny how Iris and Dent got the good rivals this region.

Eh, to a certain extent, although this is nothing new; remember Morrison? At the very least, Kotetsu has a reasonably strong team. I imagine that was the point of getting him to beat Marlon, simply to establish him as a legitimate contender with a decent team.

I don't consider guys like Morrison or the dude with the Darkrai to be real rivals since they are around JUST for the league and will never be seen again.

Kotetsu feels like he is mostly just around so that they could justify showing off another gym leader from the games that would have otherwise been skipped over.

Yah I agree with you there, If their is a Gen VI Eeveelution then Ash is pretty much screwed since that would be the perfect time to show it off and we know they love promoting at least one or two next gen Pokemon early.

Nah, I don't have online. ffdgh made me a Chikorita and Gastly and am still trying to get online to get that from him. I'll just use Flygon instead.

What set should I use for Flygon? Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Fire Blast / Stone Edge?

Sooooo.... I'm getting back into Pokemon after a few years off since I sold my DS back in the day. The last game I played was Diamond, and I now plan to play Platinum -> Soul Silver -> White -> White 2. (It's gonna take a while to buy Silver, White and White 2, anyway...)

My questions are:

1.- Is the Pokewalker a very important feature for SS? Or can I enjoy the game without it?
2.- I guess I missed all the relevant wifi events on Platinum and Soul Silver. Are there any wifi events remaining on BW1 or BW2 that should I jump into before it's too late?
3.- Are there any legendary Pokemon on LG/FR/R/S/E that are not catchable on the DS versions?

You are a good person for starting with Platinum

1. It's not important and you can enjoy the game without it but it allows you to get some Pokemon not in the game and it's kinda fun to take with you during the day, having a cherished Pokemon with you.

2. Maybe Genesect? Otherwise you can just trade for them on GTS anyway.

3. There are...I'll have to check for you though. I think the only legendaries you can't catch in Gen 4 are Rayquaza and some of the elemental Golems (I think)

Thanks for the answers. However seems like Rayquaza is catchable along with the Legendary Colems in Soul Silver. (I asked this mostly to avoid playing Emerald in order to transfer them, since getting a legit cartridge online for a good price is really hard)
