Fassbender for Assassin's Creed and Hardy for Splinter Cell. So they got the two people that are in everything for their movies.
They are talented actors and have a relevant buzz. Good choices.
Also, Fassbender is not Desmond.

I'm looking forward to Assassin's Creed more than this, but I think this announcement confirms that Ubisoft is serious about making these movies happen.

Now let's start casting the Beyond Good & Evil film that will never happen.

He's got the right look. I think he'll do a good job.

Knowing how he throws himself into his roles, he's probably practicing elevated splits somewhere right now.

Sam is in his 50s isn't he?

He has a daughter who is a little younger than this guy.

I hate Hollywood. So much.

Sam Fisher was 47 in the first game (pretty sure he'll be 60 in Blacklist). Tom Hardy is 35; Will probably be 37 by the time this get's made. Not that big of an age gap.

I bought a blu-ray of that movie. UGH. What a fucking waste of $30.

You bought a $30 blu ray for a movie you hadn't seen? WHY

There's a pretty huge difference between being 35, and being 45.

You're a good man.

So are you.

Roger Moore was a shitty Bond, sorry dude. All of the glitz, none of the grit. He was a poor representation of the Bond that Fleming created.

Haha, I remember there being a teaser for a movie in either Pandora Tomorrow or Chaos Theory.

Didn't expect Hardy, but guess it's an okay choice.

Not that big. Especially in film. He can easily look 47 if they needed him to be.

At least a decade passes through all of the Splinter Cell games.

Having a younger Sam in the beginning isn't really a huge stretch.

Are you saying each Splinter Cell game takes place a decade apart? Or are you saying in total, it takes place over a decade?

Did you just say 35 and 47 is not that big of an age gap? Mid 30s and almost 50 isn't a huge age gap? That's a huge physical difference.

It can't be any less Splinter Cell than recent Splinter Cell games so I'm excited.

I just want them to knock his character out of the park with his sarcastic sense of humor and calmness during missions instead of making him like Jack Bauer like the latest SC game seems to be doing.

In the beginning? How many of these do you think there will be?

I really can't see them Harry Pottering the Splinter Cell movies so that he will eventually be Sam's proper age.

There is a specific personality, mood, wisdom and style that can only come with age. That is part of what makes Sam who he is as a character.

When stealth gameplay is ashes, you have my permission to film.

Not gonna lie, I laughed.

Tom Hardy is awesome. He doesn't look like Sam Fisher, but fkkn who cares? Better to get a good actor than someone who just looks the part, and Michael Ironside is way too old. And probably too busy getting drunk somewhere.

I'd rather have an older guy play Sam Fisher than a younger guy in Benjamin Button makeup.

There's something awesome about old guys in action films such as any of the James Bonds, or Eastwood, or LN in Taken.

My vote is for Daniel Day Lewis (not going to happen)

I love how there is a teaser trailer for the Splinter Cell movie on the disc for Chaos Theory which came out in 2006. They really planned this shit out.

He looks exactly nothing like Sam Fisher.

Neither does Tom Hardy but Google image Ironside if you don't know what he looks like. Then imagine that in skin tight stealth gear.

Whenever I think of Ironside in films it is always Starship Troopers. "Rico! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!"

he will be okay i guess. can't think of anyone who looks like sam fisher anyway. but the voice oh man, hardy should try to imitate his voice

Well looks like it might actually get off the ground this time.
It's splinter cell doesn't seem like it would be very hard to make into a movie, hell none of the Tom Clancy games do.
