Naa, that'll be level 1.
I think Level 1 would be a drop pod or a wall drop.
Level 2 would be a turret or a weapon.
Level 3 would be a hawk in either aerial or mech transformation.

The build and battle system worked into his moveset will be so cool. Both really good picks in my opinion from a gameplay perspective.

great another character nobody wants. All I ask for is some ICO/SOTC character. Kat is cool though and free so I can't really complain.
They've been working on the game for 3 years. Gravity Rush released late last year in Japan, and a few months ago in the US. I don't think Superbot realized that Kat would have such a fan following so quickly.
In either case, this is great news that she's in the game, because she's a fun, entertaining character.
Superbot knows what the fans want. Unfortunately, most of the fans want characters that Superbot simply doesn't have the rights to, like Crash, Spyro, Solid Snake, Cloud, etc. They work with what licensing deals they can negotiate. It's not a matter of "Derp, we are teh clueless as to what the fans want."
Even before there was a Title Fight, PlayStation fans have put together "what if" rosters fo a Smash Bros, type game from Sony.

These are decent choices for that purpose.
And Emmett is a great, surprising choice! I really loved Starhawk, but didn't expect him to get any love. The only issue with Emmett is that characterization was sorely missing in the single player campaign of Starhawk.
I won't lie either, I'm glad to see the game get a black character rep as well as an additional female character.

Kat and Emmett are great choices for fighting characters.

I wonder what this means for online play. They are free so there could be a mandatory patch and you have to "unlock" through the store since they are only free for 2 weeks. That would be the best move, then they could patch in other stuff like stages and arcade modes etc for the dlc characters at the same time.
