You guys are my friends. I've been shat on over and over again for even suggesting that Demon's Souls might be a little better. It's the far superior game.

Definitely gonna pick up the PSN version so it will always live on in my HDD.

This just makes me wish Atlus had been the US pub for Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2. I feel like Atlus are awesome when it comes to fan awareness, at least in america. They really need to give Europe a break though.

Edit: Not to mention the CE for Demons was 10x nicer than the collectors for Dark Souls.

It's a good game for sure but it's not for people who are time constrained. I hated playing for an hour, dying at the very end, and then realizing I had made absolutely zero progress.

One of the few games that I actually finished this gen...Amazing game that I liked much better than Dark Souls.

Hope there is a sequel some day.

Technically, we announced that they would be extended several times. There was only one shutdown announcement, and that got a last-minute reprieve to the current situation of "up indefinitely."

And to that, many thanks. I never had the chance to experience the title until last week, and without the online component things would have added up to a sub par experience.

I think it is quite a bit better. I wont start something by listing all the reasons.

However I think the main reason why it was better is clear to me. It was first and came out of nowhere for me. Having those moments like where I learnt to let go about losing souls and started just trying to survive was magical.

Dark Souls could never have those moments.

Demon's Souls has a better fog entering sound, a better sound effect when bosses die, best atmosphere (latria x stormking) and better PvP.

Dark Souls has a lot that is better but the PvP isn't as good.

Demon's and Dark Souls are my two favorite games/new IP from this gen, hands down.

I think the huge open world is more appealing to me than the hub-style traveling of Demon's Souls. That's just me though.

I wonder if I should play this before Dark Souls... so far Dark souls is aggravating me so much. I've lost so many hours of soul farming by dying once then falling into a pit accidentally after.

That's the only thing Dark Souls does over Demon's. Otherwise it ruined gameplay systems (nerfed mages hard, WTF Charge system), ruined multiplayer (too many convents spoiled the milk, matchmaking between convents is stupid hard, sometimes you can be in level range of summons but because of MM you can't ever see summon signs), DAT S&O bossfight that shows the engine really isn't built for two huge boss-fights that don't at least give you some breathing room to start (Maneaters/Gargoyles are better done)...

Demon's Souls is just as bad if not worse. The game is still a masterpiece, though; I'm not sure which of the two is better.

Straight dump or not, it's loading from a faster HDD rather then a slow Bluray.

What would be the point of even installing stuff to the HDD if it wasn't faster.

If this isn't going to be released on the EU PSN I am going to punch someone in the throat.

If there's one thing I hope the next generation will bring in terms of network gaming, it's the removal of region-based content. It's fucking absurd that one group of players has access to certain content while another group with the exact same hardware has not, purely based on geographic situation. PSN is such a clusterfuck.

It might be an issue because Namco published the game in Europe and they would have to be the company that decides if they want to stick it on PSN here.

Should I get this version of Prepare to Die edition on PC?

Not sure how I feel about Game with Windows being a DRM requirement but if the extra content is worth it why not.

Oh, that is cool. Might pick it up then for a budget price. Dark Souls and Demon Souls are basically identical, right?

It's a far less frustrating game, while still being difficult.

Good news its coming to psn. Maybe they figured as they were paying to keep the servers running anyway, they may aswell push for more sales.

Demon's, IMO, has a much stronger world and story design. It's a smaller realm technically, but there is a lot going on if you read between the lines. So many iconic scenes and characters.

Fuck, fuck Namco Bananas. I wanted pure white event too... I really wish Atlus had published the game here in EU as well, and also that it was the publisher for DS and DS2.

Won't be buying. I only enjoyed the 3rd area. But it's a good thing they're finally making it available digitally. Why'd it take so long? And why is Dark Souls still not on PSN and/or XBL? Are they allergic to making money? I would have paid 20-30 for it a few weeks ago digitally if it was available, but ended up getting it for 12 dollars at Amazon instead. Their loss.
