Nah it's the other way around.

Black and White was a pseudo reboot, starting in a region with no new Pokemon and having a slight "Back to basics" feel.

Ruby and Sapphire was a true reboot. The entire way Pokemon existed in the data changed. A whole lot of stuff was changed and uprooted. Also not all Pokemon were even available when Generation III was first released. Plus there's the whole fact that the three versions of Generation three are Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Gemstones that are.... Red, Blue, and Green.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Wonder if they'll keep that pattern going though? We just got a reboot, but I can't see the next game sticking too close to the old formula without them getting flack for it.

May? More like March given the release dates of Platinum and Black and White....

Well, the localization times have been getting consistently shorter ever since D/P. Maybe December isn't that much of a pipe dream..

Some of you guys are starting to get too hyped.

If we do get a new game(which I doubt since it wouldn't add up) it'll take Game Freak about 5 months to release it in Japan and about 6 months to localize given their past efforts in case anyone was wondering.

Christmas release for the kiddies then?

I know that this gen has been all about ignoring patterns, but it seems like it's every other generation that serves as the "reboot". R/S were to an extent, and B/W most definitely were, while G/S and D/P were all about expanding on older Pokemon.

We'll see, though. Anything can happen.
I meant total reboot. All the Pokemon (and regions) you knew? Never existed.

You know, there was that list of newly (at the time) trademarked names two or three years back. I think it was Black, White, Gray, Brown, Purple, Orange, Scarlet, and Crimson.

Scarlot/Crimson? I know they're both reds, but it's definitely the best fitting pair out of those. Maybe Purple/Orange?

I think the names and logos plus mascots will be revealed, if it's gen VI, which is looking likely. I'd like some screen shots as well, but that'll probably come in some future Coro coro. Maybe small details like a release of Sept 2013 for Japan, and a few words on how they're working hard on the games.

Would anyone mind if Nintendo used the models from the iOS/3DS Pokedex app, I think those Models look pretty good.

Nah, I'm ready for the move to 3D, and I think game freak is too, sprites have had their run. Pretty much everything in the games are 3D now anyway with the exception of the pokemon sprites. They didn't make 640+ models for nothing I'd imagine! (I know it's Creatures who's credited)

As long as the game still flows smoothly and isn't slow like Colosseum then I wouldn't really have any complaints.

Not Brown, Orange, Purple... They sound so dumb. Crimson is awesome thought.

But I really like the Neon/Nitro. :3

What if it's a Pokemon Yellow remake on the 3DS? Full 3D models etc. It could server as a good way to get to know the hardware and Yellow was substantially different from Green and Red to justify its own remake.

Green, blue, red, yellow....either of those would work, I just want Gen I

I think Nintendo should go for the cell shaded look similar to Wind Waker, Naruto and Dragonball games. This way they can make it similar to the anime. But I have a feeling they will just use the 3D models from the 3D Pokedex app.

Same here, that's why I think Yellow would be a perfect candidate. They did Gen 1 remakes already, so to not look as doing the same shit over again you could do a Pokemon Thunder Yellow 3D. As I've said Yellow had quite a few changes to accomodate the Anime lore and it was signficantly better that then Gen 1 originals.

Just put a black outside using the 3d models and job's done

I hope its going to be Pokemon Snap U (Wii U) and something for 3DS like ... I dont know ... some stupid little eshop app? ;)

EDIT: oh I know, a 3DS app which is linking to Pokemon Snap U so you can view your photos in 3D!!!

I secretly hope that it is Grey/BW3 so I can sit back and laugh while the internet (particularly those who disliked BW/BW2) tears itself apart.

Gen VI would be nice, though.

I dunno, I'd argue that Black and White was a more effective reboot. It completely removed itself from the prior games. Completely different part of the world, and up until the post-game, you never ran into Pokemon from the previous four generations.

To me, Ruby and Sapphire were more "ok, we're not going to follow the Kanto/Johto story anymore".

I think it's mostly also the data restructuring that even up to now is used.

Drageon. Bulky but slow, weak defenses but high SATK.

Cannot learn any special moves.

Hey, at least Flareon has a companion now!

I'd say Puncheon, but Mienshao is basically what I wanted from a fighting-type Eevee. Buzzeon? That ought to be decent nightmare fuel.
