So, the first time any of the NES Contras comes out in any form of VC is Super C on the 3DS? I don't know why, but I chuckled a bit.
Also reminds me that I never beat the first stage of the NES version of Super C. D:

Super C came out on the Wii VC. I think it was the original Contra that never came out.

Loving my 30 cent Balloon Fight and loving customizable VC controls, very impressed with how good the Wii U VC menu and options are right out of the gate.

And the Super C only thing again possibly? Why on earth, Konami? Seriously.

Will QA for food.
It deeply saddens me that Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars can be found for ten bucks in store, but is being offered for $29.99 on the eShop. Twenty bucks would have at least been 'reasonable'. Normal course for eShop releases of older titles though. Oh well.

It was; it was also unlockable in Contra 4.

Ah, ok. I was just curious if there had been any NES VC games released on the 3DS that weren't previously released on the Wii. I was pretty sure there haven't been any of those, but Super C struck me as one that possibly could have been.

I guess they are still doing no new work when it comes to making new emu-roms for Virtual Console.

I don't know if there's still any major NES games that haven't been on the Wii VC. SNES, yes, but NES seems like it was pretty much covered.

Was this ever released on the Wii Virtual Console?

Oh, my bad. I don't know why I thought it was also Super C.

Well, the only version of Contra on VC is the MSX version in Japan. And that isn't like the NES version.

eShop states Ikachan is out next week in America at $4.99

On 2/7 we get Splinter Cell 3D on the eShop. No price listed.

By being Konami. :\
At least the Contra 4 version exists!

I'm probably even more pessimistic about Konami than perhaps even you, and even I'm stunned that Contra was never released on the NES VC. That's easily the equivalent of never releasing SMB.

FUCK

My result was expected for someone in their 60s or 70s :|

hahaha, that's what I got too. :(

I love the commentating he does as you're playing. It's not overdone, but it's kinda smart. When you're doing bad and start doing good again, he recognizes the subtle difference in scoring and is encouraging you to keep at it, but again without overdoing it. Kinda neat.

Hup!

I wish they would concentrate more on the portable Virtual Console stuff instead of giving us more console-oriented VC games. I'd like them to pilfer the portable catalogs more since they didn't do any of that previously.

Wow, that's crazy to hear! Yeah, Konami needs to get on that. That's a serious classic they're missing.

Yea, it makes no sense. Many companies restrain from including old titles emulated in games like they did in Contra 4, in order that more people will buy it separately on something like VC. Yet they put it in a game, but won't put a purchasable version.

Has WiiU Balloon Fight shown up in anyone else's Club Nintendo account for post-play survey?

I'm really interested in giving my feedback on it as quickly as I can in hopes that they'll actually read it and take it to heart. Chiefly, I find the display to be kind of dull and not particularly vibrant, including exclusively looking at it on the gamepad. I also want to echo as much desire as I can for options in displaying pure pixel ratio output, as opposed to blown up and smooth/fuzzy looking edges.

Not actually that important
PSA: PAL Wii U VC games appear to be 50Hz versions or at least Balloon Fight is.

I know they're useless but please, someone make a petition. They have all the time in the world to fix this.
Something like "the enthusiasts, the people who are more likely to really be attracted to the service and make it a success, are going to avoid it instead because of the lack of a 60HZ option to run the games at the intended speed. And link to something like Sonic 50hz and Sonic 60hz".

Otherwise I'll either buy a US Wii U or more probably I'll skip the console altogether... at the very least until a few price drops/Mario+Retro game hit.

Yes, I know.
What is your point?
That we shouldn't have to tolerate and even give Nintendo money for inferior versions.

Look a few posts above ;)

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
trine update in Euroland (1.2.0)

I really want to buy Ghost Recon, I have the cart but am thinking of selling it, but $29.99 feels abit step, if only it was 5-10 dollars less would be instant buy. I mean if Bit Trip Saga can be only $15 why can't other games be less :/

Does anybody know how much Brain Age will be? I was wanting to buy Smart As on Vita until I heard it was $30. If this is significantly cheaper I could definitely see myself getting this.

I just started up Super C and noticed it has two-player Download Play support! This is the first time I have noticed this feature in a 3DS VC NES title, and I have purchased most, if not all of them so far. Very cool! This feature does disable Restore Points, but I'm guessing the Konami code still works. ;)

I just noticed that when I started playing it, I know some Japanese VC games have it but yeah first for the US. Hopefully we'll see it in more in the future

Also just bought Shadow Wars, -_- I have no control over my eShop urges

That's great news. Hopefully more games follow suit.

Nice find. I know Ice Climbers (Japan at least, does this work in NA versions?) has download play as well. Any other Virtual Console games with it?

Speaking of Download Play, I've had a rough time finding a list of games with it. So I created a Google Doc with the ones I know. Feel free to edit and add more.

So after transferring my two Wiis to WiiU I have 500 total Wii points.

Anyone want to recommend me some NES gems?

AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalright, how close is Ghost Recon to Advance Wars? This might throw a spanner in the works of my plan to get Fire Emblem next.

Huh, the 3DS is building up a pretty decent library of retail-downloadable games. It's really promising for Nintendo considering where they were with DSiWare. Also, there are three pretty cool-looking games coming out in the US next week in Witch's Cat, Ikachan, and Bloody Vampire.

its more like Fire Emblem. the story is ridiculous but the gameplay & maps are really good (set it to the higher difficulty if you want any challenge though)
