Yes, yes, you're right. :)

I think Sony will likely shelve any 3D platformers for the near future. That's a dead genre if the game isn't named Mario.

Thanks for depressing me.

I think it's the Ratchet and Sly games that separate Sony from Microsoft. Both do the gritty dark violent stuff, but only Sony has shown any interest in first party all-ages games. At least since MS made Rare Kinect-only.

In what way?

the feeling of the ads is as if PS4 is more than the competition, saying "Expect better from us"

thus an indication that Sony will focus on Move as an integral part of the experience and a much better alternative than the competitions.

I think there's a small possibility that Sony in fact did not intend to reveal the ps4 on the 20th but because of all the press and talk they quickly cobbled together a ps4 conference

Hmm. One of them say "Yoga isn't gaming" - for me that would be more to say that PlayStation is about real games and not the Move stuff (but yeah, it will be there since it's built into the controller).

The "Yoga isn't gaming" ad seems like a direct shot at Nintendo and motion controls.

Why there's no Kazification of this? The girls can be Yoshida and Tretton.
The guys in the back are Reggie, Iwata and Miyamoto.

Killzone 3 is a Move game. And I'd say its a real game.

Wut? Takes weeks or months to put a big show together, this was planned out while ago.

So what are the chances they confirm a quarter or a year for this? I need to know we're not going to be waiting until christmas 2014 for this thing.

I'm not saying that they're going to abandon platformers. I just think that 3D platformers might not be something that they go to right away. 2D platformers seem much more viable these days.

Nope. GT6 won't be there it would over-shadow Evolution's new game. I expect it to be shown maybe at TGS but more likely early next year after the system has launched. It will likely be shown and released within the same year.

It would be very strange for GT to not be there. They've used it to hype the PS2 and PS3 during both of their unveiling. I believe that Final Fantasy (in some form or another) is the only other series that they've done that with.

If they are smart they will focus 100% on the core gamers on PS Meeting. At least 90%. That's going to be the market that will be buying a system around $400 in it's first year

Pretty much. I'm happy Sony generally does us core gamers the favor of supporting great new IPs and I hope they'll continue doing so.

There's not going to be a 100% focus on core gaming. Pachter said investors were also given invites to this, so expect some stuff aimed at them too : social/services etc.

That shit has to be waaaayy after the PS4. Otherwise, I will be mildly upset.

Kaz won't let me down, though. He never has... except that one time in 2006.

yeah but they still need to show the investors whats up. to give them confidence the system is also built for mass market.

so, if we're not seeing move-like stuff, you can still bet they'll definitely be showing off all their social media integrations and media/entertainment-hub qualities of the system.
