Fighting Games Weekly | February 25 - March 3 | Not here to talk about Street Fighter

Chris Schmidt uses a top tier team. Zero/Mag/Missiles and he uses some stuff that other people aren't quite using. If he goes in hard he can make waves.

Let's just see if this is FChamp trolling or if it's legit hype. We need more gods in Marvel.

From what I heard Schmidt dropped Zero/Mag/Doom for a Zero specific team, and a Mag specific team.

I like that idea more I myself have a Zero, and a Spencer team. Marvel teams is like fried rice you can't just throw all your favorite shit it it, you have to see what goes with what.

Honestly, the community should support more streamers, especially folks like Jaxel, because it gives more flexibility to events. The more folks that stream, the more coverage we can get and the better we can cater to each person. However, it's probably too hard to get it done considering the average stream monster. It makes me laugh whenever folks talk about getting big like esports or LoL or DotA or whatever. The community can't grow to that level with the way it's organized and the attitudes we have currently.

That's the point of fried rice, to throw all dat stuff together. Left covers, old rice, the last little tidbits of veggies.

I like your overlays Jaxel.

Yea and then you realize certain shit you throw in doesn't work together like fish (my mom did this all the time when I was a child)...

Also Fried Rice is suppose to be made with old rice.

I agree with this dude, thanks Jaxel! Absolutely loved watching VF on Sunday.

Unfortunately, as much as I do appreciate the kind words, I know that when it comes down to it, the average viewer does not care about "who" is streaming. What matters is who is playing, and what game it is. Sadly, I tend to stream less popular games, with more unknown players, so I get less views. Whenever MarlinPie is not at The Break, we literally lose 60% of our audience during The Break Weekly.

I remember last year when Sp00ky was streaming at Final Round, they had an "unknown" secondary streaming. I don't remember the name of the channel, and talking to others, they don't either. But what this "unknown" streamer had; was Marvel. Sp00ky is the most beloved streamer in the FGC, but when he wasn't streaming Marvel, and Marvel was on this secondary stream; the secondary streamer that no one ever heard of was beating Sp00ky's numbers.

We all try to give you guys the best streams; but if we don't have Marvel (or Street Fighter)... or the expectation of Marvel, you guys wouldn't watch us. When I stream SC5 at these majors, I will get 1000 viewers at most. But when Sp00ky streams SC5, he will get 2-4,000. Not because he's a more popular streamer and people are tuning in because they tune into anything that Sp00ky streams; but because they know, eventually Sp00ky will give them what they want... Marvel.

I agree. I was contemplating the other day what would happen if Sp00ky got a job. Jaxel would immediately become everyone's top pick on EV. After that?

Uhhh.. Bifuteki for an insanely far second choice?

Keep Viper out of future SF installments, at least. The rest can stay.
I'm okay with this.

Yes, it would be nice if people didn't start whining and typing "zzzzzzz"s each time a game other than Marvel or SFIV is on a main stream. Or stopped dismissing smash as a party game. Or typed "when's mahvel" for the 805,245,289th time.

I honestly think the best streamers in the FGC are LevelUp. They produce a great show; but their production is very different from that of a low level streamer such as me. I am one guy, running a stream out of the back of his car, stretching my limited funds as far as I can go for quality. LevelUp is an entire production crew, with a dozen person staff, production level cameras and NewTek TriCasters. I imagine most east coast event organizers would not be able to hire LevelUp due the cost of employing that many people.

Also, what is EV?

I'm flip man!, I make rice to just let it sit around so I can make some delicious garlic rice later.

I don't put mushy meats with the rice. I would fry left over fish Ina pan to get it crispy, then just toss it on top of finished rice.

We got ghetto sometimes and threw hotdogs and eggs in there.

wow

Chris Schmidt's Magneto tech is fuckin insane

He is the best Magneto by far

Schmidt said he would beat Chris G 10-0
Where is this empty hype coming from?

Someone set up this MM already. 10-0 against Chris Genius nigga get the fuck outta here!

Fuck it put him up against the gauntlet of Magnetos. Yipes/Neo/MastaCJ first as they are EMD tier, then high tier Magnetos like Joker, ShadyK up to RayRay, FChamp then finally against the big boss himself ma man Fanatiq.

East coast? Without sp00ky, the only person that compares is Jaxel in terms of stream quality, content, and timeliness. Even with sp00ky, Jaxel is easily equivalent. But as Jaxel says, it's an issue with the games and that's a problem with the community at large. They should be supporting all the games even if they don't play it, when possible but they don't and that hurts a lot.

bifuteki shouldn't even register on the list after Winter Brawl. Poor stream, bad handling, etc. That's aside from his personal antics.

West Coast has quite a good number of folks that do it well including LevelUp, which is probably the best. Slash in Portland does an amazing job. Deniz here in Seattle is really good as well. Manoftheleaf is great as well.

I'm actually considering picking up stream equipment to do some simple stuff in spots so we can get more coverage for games and the like such as Gundam or getting all of a VF and SFxT tourny when there's nobody else doing it. I'm not going to do it full time though, not feasible as a source of income. Hopefully having a well-paying job that backs my willingness to stream will be helpful.

I just want Jaxel to handle secondary streams in east coast majors cause he's pretty much just so fucking dependable.

I still don't get why WB7 decided with stanky ass bifu over jaxel.

Expected Value. You'd be the best return on investment.

I thought it was just 4 people? AJ, Frank, Offcast, Jimmy (that does the streaming part).

Any Magneto player not watching the FGTV stream right now is missing out on same crazy tech. Some new age plink dashing with Magneto makes Magneto look like he's on crack and the option selects on it are nuts. I can't even explain this shit but its blowing FChamp's mind.

Schmidt might be legit guys.....

Elite Four style with Fanatiq as champion huh... Nice.

The tech works with any fly character. Storm, Trish, Pheonix, DT Dante, Doom, Sentinel etc.

TECHNOLOGY BABY

Is the new era of fly characters?

Wait, are people just finding out about plink flight dashes or is there something I missed?

I love doing that with DT Dante. It's so slick.

So there's hope for Iron Man....

Unlikely because his air dash is so god awful slow but the option selects would be very useful.

I feel so out of it. I have no idea who Schmidt is. :(

Legendary MvC2 player, considered one of the best player in West Coast, 3 time EVO top 8 finisher, famous for his rivalry with Yipes. F Champ praised him as being different from the other old school players as he's happy to ask what he went wrong and how he can be better when he's getting bodied.

That's not what it is. This is something that appears to only be possible with a button macro.

This shit is a game changer for flying characters, their ability to dodge stuff went up dramatically. According to Schmidt its beastly for Storm, Magneto, Dorm, MODOK, Trish, Doom and Thor. Didn't say anything about IM yet but this should benefit him too.

He's using the old MVC2 button layout so it's a cake walk for every character with flight.

I'm still somewhat confused. What about the macro/button layouts is making this "better"? Also keep in mind I ply on 360 pad and plink everything (H to M for dashes of any type; experimenting with different plinks for different characters).

I'm legitimately excited though, because I fucking love air games with DT Dante.

With Dante its just straight up plink dashing so its not new for him. For others doing up forward plink dash with the macro makes them super fast.
He's basically plinking H into L + M+ H.

Iron Man and Nova do not benefit from this at all, their air dash start basically locks them in place. FAIL!!!

This attitude just reeks of jealousy. Don't really see why it's anybody's responsibility to support what they have no interest in.

I secured the spot for 3rd stream at Final Round. If Larry says I gotta cover Melty Blood and Spooky/FunkyP get SF4 and Marvel, I'm still cool.
